"Top quality for the price"
Staff very friendly and helpful. The $20 a day aprking fee is a lot but it is valet parking so if you come and go a lot it is worth it, if not parking in the street is plentiful and free after 6pm. Great smwimmimg pool and gym!

"St.patty's in the heart of Des Moines"
There was a huge St. Patty's day party going on in and around the hotel. Elevator traffic becomes nearly pointless in these events but that is to be expected. 4/5

"Marriott down town Des Moines"
My husband and I had a very pleasant stay. The workers were very knowledgable about the area for directions when asked. Would recommend this hotel.
"A great retreat after the Iowa State Fair"
We were tired and wanting a break from a great day at the fair. Check in was friendly and quick. The pool and hot tub was clean and fresh and well mantained. The room was outstanding. The only thing I wish the mattress was a little softer, but that is just my taste. Everything met or exceeded my expectations and the breakfast option was well worth the […] extra 20.00. "Downtown Des Moines Marriott"
Hotel is located in center of town accessible to most parts of the downtown via the skywalk system. The hotel is exceptionally clean and always has a celebration event going on. The staff is courteous to everyone. Love to stay there!!!

"Downtown Des Moines - Marriott"
Our experience was positive. The only issue we had is that when booking through Hotels.com we were listed as having a King bed as a preference and we ended up with 2 queens. Next time I will probably just book directly so I know what I am getting.
"Marriot--- Great Remodeling, but could do better"
So I liked the upgrades to the room, but the bathroom leaved much to be desired. The toilet had been used and not cleaned when we arrived. The bathtub fixtures and vent needed cleaning and dusting, also bathtub and tiling does not match the rest of the update bathroom. Odd. "Great Hotel"
Great Hotel. It was neat, quiet and the staff was extremely helpful. We ate at Splash,(a must if you love sea food) a nearby restaurant, and the hotel has a shuttle that brought us to and from the restaurant. Work out facility was great as was the pool and hot tub. Bring your bathing suits. Morning breakfast was delicious! We will stay again.

I wish that there was a fan in the bathroom, and our view was not very good. The cable didn't have many channels to choose from.

This is a very nice hotel and a very nice place to stay BUT watch out for all the little expenses. Valet parking -- and they put their hand out every single time for the tip. Internet is a charge -- you would think that if less expensive hotels provide it for free a Marriott could too. Or at least at a discounted rate. Maybe it's because I'm from NYC and may not expect much service wise these days but wow, from the check in that took perhaps less than a minute to the guy checking my car who gladly explained an alternative to the hotel parking, just great. "Lovely hotel"
This hotel exceeded our expectations in that it was beautifully appointed, well-located, very clean, and comfortable. The surprise was a nice restaurant/bar on the second floor at which we enjoyed cocktails and appetizers before and after the symphony concert that evening. Would definitely recommend.
"Outstanding"
Overall this hotel was great. We were there for the state cheerleading competition and this hotel was centrally located near the event. We were able to take the skywalk to our event and back to the hotel. Parking was free on the side streets over the weekend - which was nice. We were lucky and got a fairly close parking spot.
