If you have to stay in Northgate this is the place to stay. The staff is friendly and helpful, rooms are adequate, and the shuttle is very convenient for getting around and down to Seattle. It was very noisy. Don't attempt the breakfast because the room is very small for the large volume of customers and a long line. After three attempts we gave up. You can hear people in all the surrounding rooms, the toilets flushing and the showers. The noise from the freeway all night was disturbing. The beds were uncomfortable.

I would like to say first that the overall quality of this particular hotel was acceptable. The rooms were clean and the service accommodating. What I would say is this hotel doesn't offer anything that makes you say wow. I just for the price you can't expect much more but it would have been nice to get one or two extra little perks.

The linens were not cleaned properly, there was hair on the comforter and sheets. When I asked 3 different times over 2 days to get a new comforter they finally changed it. I was very disappointed.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, but the hotel itself was not at all what I expected. The hotel room doors open outside of the building, like a motel rather than a hotel, which I had not expected from the description. The rooms were heated or cooled (heated in my case, as it was January) by switching off the heater/cooler as needed, but with […] no thermostat it was either way too cold or way too hot. TV was analog, so the picture quality was pretty bad. The main issue I had with this hotel was the noise. There were some very loud guests staying above and next to me, who were loud well into the night. While I would normally not blame this on the hotel itself, the building didn't buffer the noise much at all. I don't usually care much about noise, so that should give an idea of how disruptive it was. Usually in a hotel the walls or floors are thick enough to muffle a lot of this. It's just about impossible to get a reasonable hotel deal in the Seattle area. That's why the Nexus (I believe it was formerly a Ramada Inn) is noteworthy. The dollar value is pretty good, it's right by I-5 and a large mall, and the inconveniences of the hotel itself (such as the old-fashioned outside corridor approach) are not deal-killers for having […] an enjoyable stay there.The staff was outstandingly helpful, and the breakfast buffet had all the basic American foods. This is a decent by-way hotel if you are between places. Although the room was small it served our needs. The bed was not comfortable, the door a bit drafty and the tub did not drain well. On the up side there was a microwave and refrigerator, the laundry facilities were free and it was central to shopping, dining and quick needs. Nothing eventful happened, which is always a plus. Everything was clean. No crazy noise. Closest I could get to my destination since the Ballard area appears to frown on hotels.

We loved the convenience of this hotel being close to shopping and the free shuttle to downtown. The breakfast was good especially the waffles-big hit with the kids! The staff was great too very hospitable.

Our heater was extremely noisey and came on and off all night long. We should have complained immediately but thought it was fixed when we ran it on continuous fan. Desk was responsive on check-out and said they would inspect it immediately. Breakfast was good.

Japanese Hydrotherapy Spa room was very relaxing. The breakfast was above average.

the location is fine. the hotel provides a shuttle to 3 places in downtown seattle which was an unexpected awesome bonus. we took the shuttle to downtown, saw a concert, had drinks and took a taxi back. cab fare from the downtown area is about $30 including tip. the hotel itself is nothing fancy but clean and completely acceptable. the staff were helpful […] and pleasent. the breakfast was fine, a bit of a mad house but enough food choices. they changed the menu up on the two days we were there so we didn't get bored. all in all i'd stay there again. very good value for money. Not really impressed... a cheaply done makeover of the hotel room. Room was clean but the tv was extremely old and did not look like the pictures they post online. I would have paid the same amount going to a better hotel with more comfortable amenities. Staff was friendly and courteous but hotel needs work.

The breakfast included option was a really good added value and everyday a different options (not the typical scrambled eggs and bacon) and you can make a delicious waffle. Also the parking was ok and Internet free. The hotel is not in a extreme quite area but it is located pretty convenient. The I-5 is close so you can go anywhere from there. Close […] to the Woodland zoo (they offer free shuttle drop and pick up from there what was awesome casue after 4 or 5 hours walking you dont want to drive back even one mile) and 15 minute driving to downtown (also they can take you there with their shuttle just book it the day before). There is a mall (Northgate mall) 2 minutes driving or 15 walking with good stores (Macy's, JC, Nordstrom, Gymboree, Gap) and a pretty decent food court. For the price this hotel was awful! The walls are paper thin and we could hear our neighbors having a normal conversation and also could hear people walking around in the room above us. The air conditioner was very loud and the toilet was running all night. One more thing the beds were very uncomfortable and the bedspreads were dingy. Hotel was near the freeway andkind of noisy. The room was clean but the walls were thin and could hear neighbors fairly easy. The breakfast was ok, would like to have more hot choices. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I always thought there was a distinction between "hotel" and "motel" based on room entry. If the doors open directly to the street it was a "motel". If they opened to a hallway it was a "hotel". This was our last hotel out of 5 on a week long vacation. By far our best experience and definitely on the lower end of what we spent. The shuttle service was great, free. Nice clean hotel, though a bit small and a bit old. I appreciate that they keep the place really clean and generally try to renew wherever they can, but you can tell a lot of things are fairly old-fashioned and also the rooms are fairly small. It was actually interesting since judging from the photos and the name, it seemed like a more modern hotel; […] but in reality it's more of an old-fashioned one, just with lots of little renovations. The room was smaller then I thought it would be... Also we went to go swimming and the pool was not clean and u can hear the neighbors when they r running the tub. Not many channels to watch either.. Over all it was ok but for the price my husband and I could have stayed at a hotel closer for the same experience... Nice and Cheap. The staff are very nice and have good service. Free parking and free high-speed wifi. Nice location.

It was noisy, not too clean and there was a bit of a strange smell on the room. Over all a 1.5 star hotel. Not worth the price. For 25 dollars more the Marriott would have been a much better choice.

The room was clean, very comfortable and the location was good. The breakfast was over and above my expectations - very, very good for a complimentary breakfast! Bed was very comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. The stairwells, while accessed only with a keycard, could have been cleaner - that's the only, very minor complaint.

Located on a busy road close to freeway but convenient to Northgate Mall - reason for choosing it. Parking can be an issue if they are having an event in their "conference room" on the second floor. Breakfast was typical waffles, breads, cereals, yogurt, coffee, tea, milk etc . Staff was helpful and polite. We were able to have our dog be there as well and this was helpful to us as a family. The room was not incredibly spacious, but clean and tidy.

This was a clean hotel, with some nice perks (pool, hot tub, etc.) but it looked like they had done a remodel with a bad contractor. Some outlets wouldn't work because the GFI kept needing to be reset. My wife went to take a shower and found there was no exhaust fan. We had a room with the "Japanese Hydrotherapy Tub," which we thought was nice until […] we found out the drain didn't work properly and I had to hold it open while it drained... Lesa meira

It was not a hotel, but a motel. I was not very happy about that when I arrived. The guy at the front desk was rude about it when I pointed it out. I thought it was over priced for a motel.

Wall are paper thin so if you don't want your neighbors knowing your business "SPEAK SOFTLY". Rooms are small and the parking spaces come at a premium, a restaurant is next door and the customers of this restaurant don't care where they park. The night i arrived there was a social event happening at this restaurant and in addition to three events downtown […] which meant one of the managers had to stand outside and try to keep the people from the restaurant parking and in addition trying to find me a parking spot which she did after driving around the hotel for 5-7 minutes. On the day of leaving i was lucky enough and moved my car to my room door entrance. Lesa meira

this was my time third staying at the Nexus, the first two times was last summer. The hotel had gone down hill since last year. The breakfast had less availabilty, our room had the smell of dog urine, In the bathroom, I think the urine seeped down into the grout. we could have asked to be moved, but did not. the shuttle service was not as good as last […] year. I feel there is a great turnover in staff. last summer I was there within 3 weeks apart, and the staff was completely different. I am not blaming the staff, so much, I feel that it is the upper management in how they are running the place, someone above the hotel manager. I feel they probably doing all they can. All staff at the desk did a great job. I do like the convience of I-5, being right there. I ended up taking the city bus back to the hotel, they did'nt show, at the time that we were told, called the hotel, given another time and again they did not show, tired of waiting, took the bus. Price, availability and location are strengths. Parking is a little tight, the space used for the complimentary breakfast is too small, bathroom in our unit was quite small. I would stay here again but certainly not for an extended stay.
