I needed a place to stay while taking a course in the Longwood medical area, and this hotel served my purposes well. It was an easy walking distance (~1/2 mile) to the hospitals. It is located right on the Green line, with a stop directly across the street from the hotel (though service is sparse on the weekend). The hotel was clean and they responded […] quickly to the only issue I had with my room (non-functional TV remote). There was good water pressure in the shower and the bed was comfortable enough. There was some kind of function going on in the hotel, so there was quite a bit of ambient noise for the most part of my stay, as my room was right outside the main function area. Lesa meira

Overall it was "a place" to stay. Nothing special. The oillows are hard, and way small, like trying to sleep on rocks, and the shower drain didnot work, so while taking a shower, the water was filling the tub.......room and bathroom were clean. My room was near the indoor pool, which was a hangout for those who had nothing else to do, which kept me, […] a light sleeper, awake. Would I stay there again???? While the hotel is close to public transit, it is not near many restaurants other other places of interest. My main issue, however, was over the cleanliness and poor maintenance of the property--from dirt in the corners of the bathroom an on the walls to a door that would not stay shut unless you used the deadbolt. While in Boston visiting a sick relative, we found we needed a place to stay overnight, at the last minute. We booked a room at 8:30 at night, arrived there at 9 ish and were delightfully surprised with our accommodations. This place would be good for two to a room; it was a little cramped with four (we just spent a weekend). Great staff and service. I thought we reserved queen beds and they were full beds; mattresses were way too soft.

To see/explore Brookline or the city centre it's a very accessible and affordable location. Not fancy obviously but good all the same. Recommended.

It was a not a pleasant stay at all... The AC in the room sounded like a tractor... And room was old, very old...

Very nice , clean,quiet and comfortable room. The staff was very helpful and attentive. The surrounding area was great for us because we like to walk, and when we needed to use the T it was just across the street! We have a daughter in college in the area and this will be our base of operations for our visits.

Everything is perfect except the pillow. It made me feel uncomfortable in the following days and still not recovered by today.

The pillows were like sleeping on rocks, the noise level prevented sleep (everyone walking by as well as those above and beside our room could be heard at all hours of the night). Sound proofing might help. The air conditioner did not work and since there were no windows the room was uncomfortably warm. I left a soda in the fridge my first day out, and evidently the setting was too cold, so the soda froze and exploded. I called to tell the front desk staff, and they brought up FOUR CANS of soda to replace the one I lost. This is just a small example of the way the staff goes out of their way to take care of their guests. The rooms have only indirect daylight. It seems you are in a indoor motel. The room and bath are quiet dated. Anyhow, the location is good for college search. It is convenient that they have a car park.

A very nice hotel with all the amenities we needed for a week's holiday. Good price and good location - a little way out of the centre of town but a really easy and quick tram ride which stopped just outside the hotel. Nice local area too with amenities within walking distance including restaurants, shops, parks, Fenway Park, Museum of Fine Art. brookline […] booksmith is a good bookshop. Lesa meira

I stayed here before last year and it was fine. Normal sized room on the 2nd or 3rd floor, good breakfast, etc. This time was completely different. I got a room on the first floor. The window looks out into the inside of the hotel, so pretty terrible view. The room was unbelievably small. As soon as I walked in, I could see a giant ink (I hope) stain […] on the sheets. How housekeeping didn't notice it while they were changing the sheets is beyond me. The walls were paper thin. So much so that I could hear every time the guy in the next room cough or sneeze. It was also nice to see a mouse running around while sitting at the bar Thursday night. Quite honestly, it was a completely different experience since my trip last year. This hotel was nothing special. It wasn't bad, but just...blah. When I arrived before check in time the staff was very kind, even offering to notify me if my room was ready earlier; although I just checked my bags and went about my day. When I did return I was told I was in the "Executive Tower". Expectations were set. It turned out the awning over […] the entrance was directly in front of my window, blocking any sort of view, but allowing people below to see directly inside if the blinds were open. Also, there was dripping water in the ceiling of the bathroom and some dust on corners and backs of not often used parts of the room. Again though, the staff was accommodating, finding extra supplies when I needed them and quick to silence a rowdy room in the middle of the night. The hotel was adequate, close to the "t" and near my daughter's apartment. However, we felt like we were in a cave as there were no exterior windows in our room.

It's not in the central downtown area of Boston, but so what? The Holiday Inn in Brookline is in a really convenient location; the surrounding neighborhood has nice shops & eateries. The 66 bus line which runs along Harvard Avenue (a short walk from the hotel) will take you directly to Harvard Square. The GREEN Cleveland Circle transit line will take […] you into Backbay in 5 minutes; then, it stops directly in front of the hotel when you return. Need some snacks? Trader Joe's is a 2-block walk away. The hotel was clean, quiet, comfortable. Learn the transit system (very easy) and visit as if you were a local. Free Wi-fi available. The location of the hotel was very convenient. The train/subway was right across the street and made getting around and seeing the historic sights in downtown Boston easy. The neighborhood was very nice and felt "safe" as we walked to and from town. The staff was very freindly and helpful. My only sugestion is that the hotel could use at least one more […] elevator. The queen bed was more like a ful. The parking charge of $24 was excessive and the same price charged to a non hotel guest. There is no overnight parking allowed on the street so there is no choice.

Overall, the hotel was enjoyable. The location in Brookline made it cheaper than many Boston hotels, but it still had easy access to downtown. There was a pool, restaurant, and fitness center, as well as parking in the basement. The downside was the layout of my room. I had a room with a queen bed on the second floor, overlooking the indoor pool and […] restaurant. The dimensions were smaller than your standard hotel room and so it was a little cramped for two people. In addition, the only window looked out onto the interior hallway (it was on the same wall as the door), rather than the back of the building, so the curtains had to be drawn at all times for privacy from people walking by. The hotel was way overpriced for what you get, only 20 channels are included on the tv and the pool is only open until 9. The bar was expensive and the bartender was very old and couldn't even get a simple drink order correct. The location to Fenway was the best thing about the hotel, only about a 15-20 minute walk to the stadium.

We went for one of the Springsteen concerts at Fenway. Hotel was convenient to the T and Fenway. Rooms were fine. Bathroom is really small but had what we needed. Only complaint was the organization of the breakfast buffet when we checked out. Staff was trying to handle everything. They were put in a position where they had to seat people, no one manning […] front station, take orders, bus tables and keep buffet filled. Felt bad for them.
