good place, reasonable price,
The hotel appears to have been renovated lately. Looked great and the pool and work-out facility were great as usual. Rooms were very clean, choice of pillows was great and beds were comfortable. Only disappointment was that the restaurant was closed for breakfast possibly because it was a week day. Over-all great stay and would not hesitate to stay […] there again. Lesa meira

"Snobbish Staff.. Lady at front desk"
I went here with my friends for a short spring break road trip. The hotel was not difficult to locate.we reached there around 3 and the room was ready. The lady at the front desk was snobbish and behaved rudely with everyone. Remember to carry your own toiletries as the hotel staff is rude enough not to give it to you. You might have to run down in […] a towel to the front desk to collect them. The staff just might be too busy with other stuff. "Terror by the Riverside"
The first room we were given had no vanity just a sink like you would get in a gas station. The bathroom had mould, there was a vent that was extremely dirty and when my wife stood on the bathmat blood came out from under the carpet. The TV was old school and they had to come to the room twice to make the universal remote work which was the "only" way […] to control the TV. We changed rooms ... better at first. Lived through 2 fire alarms and were told by staff this happens all the time. Complained about a running toilet which they fixed... only to have it start running again in the middle of the night. When we changed rooms, we accidentally left a bag behind. Calling the front desk provided no assistance in getting our bag as they simple deflected our call. Ultimately we contacted the Manager who was defensive against our complaints but did open the old room so we could get our bags. A trip full of surprises, at the "NO SURPRISE" Holiday Inn. Lesa meira

"The Hampton Inn - Grand Island"
The location of the hotel was great! We booked a room with a view of the river, which was beautiful! The hotel was a short drive to Niagra Falls and Buffalo. It was located in a very nice and safe area. The rooms were decent. The beds were clean, but the bathrooms were a little on the gross side. The heater did not work in our first room for the first […] night so we had to move to the room next door for our second nights stay. The staff was very nice and quick with the relocation. I booked this hotel because it had a pool and hot tub and cafe, but they all close early in the evening so didn't get a chance to use them. Called a few days after my stay for lost and found for a hat and never got a call back! So that was a little annoying. The stay was so-so and I most likely wont stay there again. Lesa meira

"TV didn't work and hard bed"
When we checked in the TV wouldn't turn on and the bed were too firm for hotel beds. The next morning we went to the pool and there was a 'member' there that was rude to everyone that walked in. We called 3 times to have the TV fixed and after the third call and over an hour and half a maintenance guy showed up and was able to get the TV to turn on. […] When we turned off the TV that night it never turned back on. It was a very unpleasant stay with two little kids. Very disappointed. Rooms were small, and hotel was very expensive with everything we needed. Most hotels charge $10 for a cot this hotel charged $15. Front desk service had staight forth answers for any of your questions or concerns. No genuine help with what you needed. Therefore it is what it is!
"Grand Island Holiday Inn"
Half of hotel is newer, half is older, they have renovated parts of the rooms on one side of the hotel. There were no working ice machines on any floor, I had to go to the front desk and he went in back and got me a bucket...Our first room with 2 double beds, which wasn't what we asked for, smelled bad inside, rugs were old. When we got switched to […] a king bed, the room was on the other side was updated except for the bathroom. We did not have a remote, rooms service brought one up for us. I enjoyed the pool, hot tub and suana. The room was nice but lacked a clock alarm as advertized. The buffalo chicken wings were delicious but the beef in the beef-on-wick was grizzley. The desk staff could not tell me where the Catholic Church was located and suggested the Lutheran Church. The location was handy to both Niagara Falls and Buffalo.
"Hotel Stay"
We do not understand why the Holiday Inn only has double beds. We find this really bad. There was no clock in our room and the remote didn't work. The surrounding areas were beautiful and we loved driving around and walking around the marina.

"Labor Day Weekend"
We arrived late on Friday night and received prompt attention even with a bus load arriving at the same time. The hotel breakfast was fine but not worth the cost. The pool was nice way to relax after our busy day enjoying Niagara Falls. There was plenty of green space next to the river to walk our dog and watch the boats. "Worst Holiday Inn"
First, room door didnt open. After 2 trips to the lobby which was a 10 min walk away someone from maintenance came. The door was jammed....he had to shoulder it a couple of times before it opened....then the bathroom tub wouldnt drain. after another trip to the lobby got them to give us another room for shower at 7am. Marched around the hotel in night […] suit with family only to find out that the new room was occupied.... most embarrassing situation me and my family as ever been in....After another 10min walk to the lobby got another room.....i would never go to this hotel again..its old and shabby.....poor guest services and seriously the worst holiday inn ever. ... its worse than the local econolodge! "Hotel away from New York City"
really enjoyed your hotel, all staff were very helpful and effecient with all request. Would deffinately referr this hotel to anyone who would like to see the falls and enjoy a beautiful sceanery by the lake.
"Worst Hotel Stay"
1. The rooms had a strong, pungent odor 2. In our first room, the toilet was blocked. Then, we asked them for a new room, the toilet was once again blocked. In the next room, the bathtub was blocked. We stayed here while visiting Niagara Falls. The balcony facing the river is the way to go, we watched boats and jet skis on the water, they also rent jet skis next to the hotel. We had a very nice stay. The indoor and outdoor pools were well maintained and very heated with a hot tub indoors and even a life guard. The Hotel looks old from the outside […] but was very comfortable and classy on the inside.There is a nice restaurant and bar facing the water and room service til 9pm. I would stay here again, close to shopping and attractions, but out of the city. Lesa meira

We only stayed for a night, so hard to really write an accurate review. But during our stay, the hotel was under some renovations (June 2011) so the place wasn't in the best of shapes, but it looks nice regardless. The staff was friendly, so that's good. My room was clean and comfortable. The food on the breakfast buffet was good. The hotel is receiving a low score from me because in general, it's shabby. The carpet in the dining room is stained and the furniture worn. The carpets in the lobby areas need to be stretched and in some areas, it is worn through. This hotel is beginning a refurbishing project; […] I'm surprised it was allowed to fall into such disrepair. Each of the three mornings I had breakfast in the restaurant, there were eggs and/or bacon left on the floor in plain sight- no one attempted to clean it up. There was eggs left on several of the chairs. Again, the wait staff didn't clean them up when turning over the table. There were no serving tongs or plates on the buffet table holding the bread and pastries on the Sunday morning of my visit; several guests used their hands to pick up their bagels and English muffins. Hotel checkin was at 3 we arrived at 230 and waited till almost 340 to check in .They couldve been a little more cordial while my group of four including my 5 year old grew impatient.Also the room was short towels and we had no toilet paper .When we tried to call the desk it took over 15 minutes for someone to answer the phone just rang and rang.Customer […] service was poor .The amount they raised the costs due to summer fees was rediculous with the service we recd. "Possible Gem"
The location of this hotel is perfect when visiting Niagara Falls and/or Buffalo. However, due to the condition of the hotel it is hard to recommend it to anyone. We had two adjoining rooms and both smelled of smoke. The balconies would have been nice except for the abundance of spider webs covering the entry way. You would think house keeping would […] clean these on a regular basis. Yes the hotel claims to be doing renovations, but something as simple as knocking cobwebs off an entry way has no excuses. This hotel can truly be a gem once renovations are done and the house cleaning staff becomes more attentive. "Too many little things added up to a big problem"
On a bit of a road trip to see Niagara Falls with my Fiancée and our 1 year old daughter I picked out a Holiday Inn close to the area but not cluttered up in the middle of everything. The Hotel was easy to find and situated on a very nice piece of shoreline on New York’s Grand Island. While the scenery around was very nice the interior of the Hotel […] was rather drab. The carpet seemed stale and dated and the lighting was dim. However the front desk attendant that checked me in was very nice and professional and everything was to the T as far as check-in goes. The elevator was a touch on the brutal side if I were to put a word to it. When I was loading my luggage the door closed rather abruptly. As I am accustomed to with modern elevators I stuck my foot in quick so it would open back up. Instead I merely jammed the elevator door as it continued to try and close pushing against my foot until I had to physically push open the doors again giving my fiancée a brief shock from inside the elevator. Inside the elevator the buttons were cracked and broken and the ride was a little harsh as well. I'd hate to think what was wrong with the other elevator that it was out of service. Once on our floor it was even more dimly lit than the lobby. Multiple room number signs were ripped off the wall. Our room was very will lit thanks to the large patio door in our room allowing plenty of sun in. The room was clean and there were no problems aside from some random rips and tears on the wallpaper and the chair. On our second evening after having a large lunch we decided to have a light dinner at the hotel restaurant. Our drink order was seemingly simple: For me a Labatt (This was no problem) my Fiancée wanted Tea with milk and a packet of honey. Both drinks came and the waitress said she would be right back with the milk. 5 minutes later we had to flag her down and remind her about the milk. When she came with the milk she still did not have the honey. She promptly came back with the Lesa meira

Nice amenities nice location not far from Niagra Falls Hairs in bathroom Outside Garbages overflowing Family coolers got all the ice, not me. Nice view.
Hotel was fine. There seemed to be to many flies and knats. We requested a river side view which was fine, but there wasn't any chairs on the balcony ti enjoy it. Kids loved the pool and enjoyed their stay, so I guess that's all that mattered. Check in clerk did not inform us that children under 12 eat free. "Great Stay"
Great hotel, we enjoyed it! My daughter has a neurological disease and we got a lot of use from the pool and hot tub. It wasn't only great for us, but fantastic for therapy for her. Will stay again soon.
"Not bad for the night"
shower was clogged and i found a hair on the sink but other than that the room smelled clean, located on the water so there was a great view and the amenities were really nice
"The hotel was big, not homey"
The hotel was big, and thus had a lot of ammenities. But the room was not that clean. The housekeeping cleaned it after one night, but did not fill the toilet paper and the bathroom smelled like urine. Overall, it was convenient to the Falls and relatives, and fast food nearby for breakfast. Very quiet.

The hotel facilities and location were great. Close to both Buffalo and Niagara. Great views of the Niagara River. Had to ask for chairs for the balcony, but they were brought up quickly. Service at Breakfast was a little slow.

"Good location but hotel could use some upgrad"
Room not cleaned till about 4PM (late for a check in when you have to check out no later than 10AM). Front person was rude. Other staff members were friendly and polite. Bed cover had some kind of cookie or cracker crumbs on it but overall room was clean. Patio door did not lock (use a charley bar). Big AC unit in front of river view room. "Grand Island-conveniently located to scenic sights"
This hotel is an older hotel, the service was fantastic, the room was well maintained, and very clean. The bed was comfortable. We took full advantage of the amenites the hotel had to offer. The location was convenient to both Buffalo and Niagara Falls, NY. The view of Niagara river was nice. "Very poor Service "waste of money""
If you really want to waste your money go to this Hotel. This hotel is not even 2 stars as our washroom was broken, room door was broken and unsafe, room smelled like wet basement, breakfast bread and refreshment were not really fresh at all, dishes and cups were dirty and not washed properly with a lot of coffee deposit on them. Staffs are not really […] polite as when were eating our breakfast they come and took away our plates, forks and knifes! First we thought they would bring back the other clean ones but surprisingly they even brought us the breakfast bill without asking us!?! during the first ten minutesl!!
