Definitely the place for a traditional Yum Cha experience, Chinatown offers a multitude of dining choices. Set just at the southern tip of the central business district, it bustles with activity later into the evenings than most city-centre neighbourhoods. Dixon Street’s pedestrian mall is the hub, with herbalists, greengrocers, boutiques, food halls, and modern shopping malls within a 0.5-km radius.

While there was nothing wrong with the Citigate, I was really put off by the lack of internet service: for the price I paid, I ended up paying a significant amount of money to use a PLUG-IN internet cord- in my room only! No WiFi- not even in the lobby. Seriously? The pool was gorgeous, the hotel was well-maintained, the staff was friendly, the location […] was accessible and they let me store my bag there for a week after I checked out. Lesa meira
"The Hotel City Gate Central Haymarket Sydney"
this Hotel offers a good range of accommodation at very reasonable prices. The hotel is situated close to China Town and is in an area very handy to a lot of places of interest to the tourist. An important detail is the free parking and breakfast offer that is currently available it certainly swayed me in making a decision in choosing this hotel.

"One night stay"
Great location for darling harbour and china town comfortable room very clean. Great for spending a weekend in the city

Staff and housekeeping were excellent. cost of internet was prohibitively excessive - $10 per hr. when nearby cafe's charge $1 per hr. The mini-bar was also grossly over-priced. There was insufficent storage space for clothes in our room; just one small closet and no drawers. Overall though the hotel and staff were fine.

"Citigate - right in the centre of Chinatown"
This is ideally located a few minutes walk from Central Station, close to George Street for buses and has a taxi rank right outside. Parking is right next door and reasonably priced. Staff is always helpful and the bar area is comfortable as is the restaurant for breakfast. Paddy's Markets is close by and Asian restaurants abound. Sydney Entertainment […] Centre is walking distance as is the Light Rail to Darling Harbour. The hotel rooms are a good size and well set out. Ideal for an overnight or extended stay. "Absolutely the first choice for hotel in Sydney"
we were on family vacation and were so lucky to have chosen this hotel after glancing through hundreds of hotels around sydney.. it is closed the Chinatown (which means food can never be a problem) and within walking distance to the Darling Harbour.. do take note that there is a night market in the Chinatown on every Friday night, so plan your trip […] accordingly if you dont want to miss that.. Everything was fantastic except the buffet breakfast that was $25 and they had no food it was VERY disapointing!!! It took us just over an hour to eat as we were always waiting for food to come out and the lines where long!!!

Excellent location if you want easy access to the Entertainment Centre, Market City or Chinatown. 15mins walk from Darling Harbour and 20-25mins walk to Pitt St Mall. Room was a little dated but comfortable and with some harbour views even from 10th floor. Bathroom too getting old and shower was not very good. Staff were generally friendly and helpful. "Citigate Central Sydney - not what you may expect"
The hotel is close to China town and Paddy's markets but its bit of a walk to Darling Harbour. The room doesn't look too bad but the bathroom is a major let down. It will do for someone only wanting to stay one night.

"Everything went great"
You can comfortably stay at this hotel, though do not do so because of the swimming pool. The swimming pool smells like cigarettes.

"Overpriced, but well, Much of Sydney is"
Sydney is just expensive. This hotel was fairly standard. The pool is small but has a fun view of Darling Harbor since it is situated on the 8th floor roof top and the little spa/hot tub was nice. Unfortunately smokers use this area a lot so if you detest the smell of smoke like I do, then avoid the pool when it's crowded. The location is fine, It's […] quite a ways from the train station but the busses are easy to catch on George street to take you down town and paddys market is just around the corner and provides a great stop for all those last minute gifs to buy. The area felt safe and the hotel staff was very nice. They are a little slow to help you up the stairs to the hotel with your luggage but if you wait they are more than happy to assist. Lesa meira
"Citigate - minutes from Chinatown CBD"
Hotel staff was very friendly, we were very happy with the service. Rooms were nice and clean. Location was excellent, minutes from chinatown. We walked everywhere, walked to the chinese gardens and darling harbour, took us10-15mins. Overall extremely happy with our stay at citigate and would stay again.

NIce clean rooms, VERY nice and helpful staff at the desk. Good restaurant(food in Sydney pricey, it was average) Sort walk to Central Station and to Darling Harbour,(2 blocks to bottom edge of Harbor, 5 min through fpuntains and such to actually reach harbor but can take monorail back if tired) street is quiet. The best part is since near station you […] can use public transportation from there to anywhere. If you want to be steps away from either harbor then get a hotel closer, but it will cost more. "What a wonderful stay."
We enjoyed our stay and had an amazing time. The position of the motel was so close to many attractions including Paddys Markets which was just a short stroll and Darling Harbour which is gorgeous. The staff were wonderful, helpful and always friendly with smiles all round. Our room was clean and spacious, very comfortable. "Citigate Central Sydney"
I had some extra business needs (receiving packages before arrival, shipping to other cities) and the staff took care of everything --- Arlene, Mike & Ellie were sensational. Their efforts allowed us to spend more time touring the city -- and of course they 'tour' directed us perfectly. Great place...great location.
The Citygate was in close proximity to our main destination for the weekend being the Good Food and wine Festival at Darling a Harbour. The walk to and from the venue to our accomodation was very pleasant., with minimum traffic interrruption even though being right in the heart of China Town/Paddy's Markets etc. The room was pleasant. We both were a […] little disappointed that we could take advantage of our magnificient harbour views ( construction/building sites). Another disappointment was the fact that we could not control the air conditioning. It became quite "stifling" in the room - an option to manually be able to adjust the air conditioning or alternatelty being offered a room with a balcony -even though we are both non-smokers might be something of due consideration. Whilst we didnot utilise room service, we did however dine in the Fieldhose restaurant and were very impressed with the meals and that of the wait staff. Very attentive indeed. Over all a very pleasant experience. In fact we ar back in the city for an 18th birthday at the end of August and are contemplating our stay here again. However we did find the price for 1 night to be quiet "high". We will give it due consideration however, due to our funsstion being at Jordon's at Darling Harbour. Lesa meira
"Citigate Central is fine for travelers on a budget"
The hotel was ok. Nothing special, nothing bad. Price was reasonable. The location wasn't bad if you don't mind walking a bit. Darling Harbor is a short walk, but it's maybe 25 minutes down to The Rocks by foot. Most of the staff was pretty friendly, but some were not. Not rude, just not friendly. If you plan on watching much television, you won't be […] happy with the channel selections, because there are almost entirely news, sports, or reruns from 5 to 10 years ago. "Hotel was great, shower was not!"
The propoerty was nice. About what I had expected. Typical overpriced internet and telephone service. I used the free wireless in the McDonalds east of the hotel. Breakfast buffet was very overpriced but plenty of lunch and dinner at nearby chinatown. I liked lunch at Nine Dragons in chinatown. The shower was a MAJOR disappointment. Went from warm to […] hot to cold constantly. I could not stand in the water stream because I would get burned and frozen in the same 5 second period. I showered at 5 am, 6 am and 8 am and it did not matter when it was. I was on the 18th floor so maybe that was part of why. "Outstanding Hotel in Every Way!"
The Citigate was a wonderful experience. The rooms are very quiet and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The pool and work out room were incredible. They have Cybex and Precor equuipment! We checked in a wee bit early and since no room was available, they upgraded us to a suite. This hotel was very impressive and we would highly recommend […] it! Lesa meira
"Great Place to Stay"
We were very pleased with the hotel. The location in Sydney was ideal for out purposes. The staff was especially helpful. We appreciated being able to get into our room early and the ability to check luggage even earlier. Would definitely stay there again!
"Bad desk service"
Our flight arrived at 7:00 am and when we arrived at teh hotel, there was no room ready for us. I saw another couple who arrived after us in a cab and they got a room. The 4.5 stars is not deserving for what they offered and the staff at the desk was very spotty, some very inexperienced. We had one staff who while taking care of us, fielded two phone […] calls and even made one and we were very annoyed. Another staff member "handled" the situation and promised over and over again that they were going to look into it and rectify things for us and "do something for us". We never heard from them the following two days of our stay and saw the same person at the desk many more times with a smirk in his face. Lesa meira

"Very nice hotel, well located for touring downtown Sydney"
We were very happy with the quality of the hotel and its location. We had a wonderful walk through Chinatown to the Botanical Gardens, art museum, and the Opera House, all in one afternoon. We can highly recommend the Citigate Central Sydney hotel.

浴室は古い感じ。 浴槽は昔、シートが貼っていたようで今ははがしていてなかったが、黒ずんでいた。 ３人で泊まったが、コップ類は２人分しか置いていなかった。 次の日、朝に顔に虫さされがあって、赤くなっていた。 清潔感にかける感じがした。

"セントラル駅を利用する人には便利です"
ブルーマウンテンから移動し、翌日帰国する日に１泊しました。セントラル駅から歩いてすぐ、中華街もすぐで、食事にも困りません。駅から５５５番のフリーバスを使い、タウンホールやサーキュラーキーに行くのも簡単です。 部屋の広さは十分でくつろげます。ジャグジー付のプールも有り、疲れがとれます。 コストパフォーマンス的にはとてもおすすめのホテルです。

-Lounge: Wide. Somewhat not stylish. -Room: clean. but view was bad. -Location: 200m from wide George St. But alley was very dark in night. Be careful in night. In front of the hotel parking lot is very dark. -Tranportation : If you want to go Circular Quay , there are many buses in the Gorge St.
