Sheraton Pittsburgh Airport Hotel – Coraopolis

This is NOT called Crowne Plaza anymore! They are now called Sheraton. So you can imagine we had trouble finding it even though the GPS took us to the right place. We checked in around 8 pm instead of the 3 pm check-in time and they told us they did not have the double room that we had booked and PAID FOR! They wanted us to stay at the Motel 6 across […] the street. I refused and they finally said they "found" a vacant double room. When we finally got our room key, we were pleased to find the room was very well appointed and we got a good night's rest. Lesa meira

This hotel is currently being renovated and it is in dire need of an update. It is clean but it is definately a step back in time to the Holiday Inn era. I was suprised to find a hotel so dated in such a great location. It is clear that Crown Plaza recognizes it is time for a major overhaul and it is currently underway. I had read reviews and was well aware the hotel would not be up to par and that it is expected to complete a renovation by April. The only reason I chose to stay was because I had a free night and knew the location well. Even with my expectations low, I was still disappointed. Hotel and rooms are "tired", but a renovation is planned. I would give it another chance after that has occurred.

We had a non smoking room but someone was either smoking in the hall or next to our room. I could not sleep due to the smell and found the hotel to be in dire need of updates. Other hotels in close proximity and cost offered continental breakfast too. This pool is also outdoors so winter time entertainment is minimal.

Had a late night of business meetings with the expectation of "sleeping in" the next day. Well the hotel is undergoing renovations and hammering and drilling reverberated through the walls starting at 7am in the morning. When checking out the woman at the front desk basically called me a liar and says "construction starts at 930am". I said well apparently […] not today. She just smirked and said oh well.. If you value you rest time when away on business, then I suggest you inquire if the place is under construction. Hotel was clean and nice, a little dated, but they are about to remodel according to signs. The staff, however, was wonderful. They were so nice, accommodating and went above and beyond.

Hotel did its job. A generally comfortable place to stay in a convenient location. The GM has a note placed in the room stating that a significant renovation will begin soon. The hotel desperately needs it. It's not currently up to the Crowne Plaza standards that you normally find. It's smells and looks dated. Stayed here for a college visit, plane got in late and it was close to airport, had free parking, wifi and for $10.00 more , free breakfast. Room was clean, beds very comfy. Checked in after 11pm, clerk didn't give me breakfast coupons nor ask if I wanted to join rewards club, which I did the next day upon recommendation of the chef. Scratch off ticket […] gave me a free room upgrade; no good at check out. Breakfast buffet very good, chef made to order eggs. Serve staff Kelly always ready to pour more coffee or clear a plate. Daughter loved chef's scrambled eggs , my omelet would have been $10.00 at any other downtown hotel; and he even gave us something to take for our long day of touring campuses. What a sweetheart! We forgot all about it while googling addresses and adding them to the GPS; several hours later while realizing our treadmill does not have an incline labeled Pittsburgh and poor mom was about half dead through the first tour with two to go did we realize we forgot his kindness. The only reason why I gave them a 3 on the upkeep is I always check to see if the filters in the AC are clean. This was not clean, plus it was broken, possibly because someone not familiar had been assigned the task. Most hotels say it's maintenance 's job, some say housekeeping. In this case the design of this room AC/heater it should be maintenance . When I pointed out the very dusty and broken filter to the front desk; they did not point fingers but quickly rectified the situation. Lesa meira

Great service, friendly staff, but expected a little more luxury and quality in terms of interiors and building ambiance.....could use a makeover and some finishing....everything looked old and unkept to an extent....perhaps remodeling the suites with better furnishings especially in the bathrooms would do job the job...elevators looked creepy and claustrophobic....hallways […] and doors were rusty and unclean. The food in the buffet has deteriorated. It is not good. Also, I saw room service trays in the hallway to my room, and they were not cleaned up for an entire day.

The staff at the front desk were very friendly and checked me into my room quickly. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel was close to the airport and offered complimentary shuttle service to the airport. The shuttle driver was very nice and drove us safely to the airport.

It was an excellent stop over on our way home. I am glad I picked the hotel and the rates were very reasonable.

Air conditioning unit was extremely loud. Thought it was going to explode. And even set at 68 the room was exceptionally hot.

very poor condition of the room, one of the rooms had a cigarette smell, and we had to change our room. the furniture is in poor condition, and if you ask staff for essential toiletries, they ask you to purchase them from their counter.but I did like that our room had a fridge. overall, I do not recommend this hotel at all

I took a 2 double beds for people of 4. The beds were too small. At least they should have queen beds instead of double beds. They were charging 12.50 for the breakfast, which seems to be expensive for what they are serving. Other than that everything was good.

I think the title says it all... Staff (other than front desk) was non-existent... Personally witnessed a 'rodent' scurrying out the front door as I was loading my car to leave - could NOT get out of there fast enough!

Room was very dirty, hallway smelled liked straight up poop and vomit the whole time. Very dirty everywhere. Only plus is free shuttle to airport and u can leave ur car as long as u want for free if u stay in the hotel. Sheets were dirty and ripped uo.

Found multiple hairs on bathroom floor when we first entered the room. It is supposed to be a non-smoking hotel and my first room reeked of smoke. I called the front dest to ask to be moved to another room. Front office person said they would call me back in a few minutes. Waited 15 minutes with no return phone call. Went to dinner and when we retured […] stopped at front desk to ask about being moved and they gave us another room. There is no sign up for the airport shuttle service that runs every half hour, so if you don't get to the shuttle early enough and they fill up you are out of luck and will have to wait for the next shuttle time slot. I was pleasantly surprised. We arrived at noon, and were able to check into our room, despite the 4pm check-in stated on the website. Front desk staff was very courteous. Kids enjoyed the pool. Bathroom was spotlessly clean. Free parking. The drawbacks....location is not close to anyplace to eat so we had pizza delivered. No fridge or micro in our room. The hotel was in a great location, it was upkeep but kindof smelled of pets not sure if they were aloud or not, other than that very quiet even while located near pittsburgh airport.

We were able to watch the Fourth of July fireworks from our room. The staff was very helpful and considerate of our needs. Go to this place if you need a nice peaceful rest!

We had booked two double-beds, upon arrival, we were informed that we were getting a king. We asked how three of us were to sleep in a king? The woman at the desk said she had no record of our requesting 2 beds. We showed her our printed confirmation and she told us there was noting she could do. She offered us a roll-away bed. When it arrived, I sat […] on it, I pulled a muscle in my back as I found myself sinking all the way to the floor. The bed was horrible! I called the front desk and asked to speak to the manager. I was speaking to the same woman who, now after I asked for the manager, was able to find me a room with two beds. Why did I need to go through this to get what I requested initially? Breakfast was as bad. Serving from 6:30 to 12 Noon, it was @9:30 AM. No one was there to greet us. No food was in the buffet, except for a few strips of cold, dry bacon, a couple of spoonfuls of potatoes, 2 half slices of french toast and a full pan of what must have been corned beef hash! We found a waffle maker and made those - flavorless, but hot. No butter, just a 1/2 inch of cold syrup found on a table. Only then did someone show up! They were quick to provide us with our bill, though, $41.00! Lesa meira
