Metið af Johannes J frá "Seltjarnarnes, Iceland" þann 25. jún. 2011Mjög gott hótel á góðum stað. Herbergin björt og hrein. Svolítið hissa að það var enginn stóll til staðar. Einangrum milli herbergja og hæða er hinsvegar algjör hörmung. Hvert fótspor á hæðinni fyrir ofan glumdi niður til okkar (fer væntanlega mikið eftir skóbúnaði þess sem þar dvelur). Einnig heyrist of mikið á milli herberga og líka fyrir utan herbergið. Við vorum óheppin þar sem það voru einvherjir á fylleríi með tilheyrandi hávaða og látum. Sorglegt þar sem hótelið' er sjálft mjög fínt og staðsetningin virkilega góð. ég mæli því með þessu fyrir hvern þann sem er tilbúinn að taka sjénsinn á því hverjir nágrannar hans verða.

Hótelið er vel staðsett og hótelgarður er nýmóðins og í sérklassa, notalegt að sitja úti við opinn eld á kvöldin. Starfsfólk sérlega bóngótt og elskulegt, og allir sérlega kurteisir svo eftir verður tekið. Innifalið í verði eru frjáls afnot af stórri líkamsræktarstöð með 25m sundlaug handan götunnar. Við vorum að æfa fyrir maraþon núna í águst og hentaði þetta því vel. Í alla staði frábært hótel.

Great location if you are in town for a show at the Doug Fir or any other events in the Burnside area. Relatively close to the Rose Quarter/Lloyd Center. Plenty of transit options nearby for a quick ride into downtown or the waterfront. Room and common areas were clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The people who work there is the reason for my high assessment. The evening person was a real dear, took our pictures for us, was a wealth of information, and very nice. The manager was hostile on the phone and in person. The bed was comfortable, but there were brown smears on the television and there was hair all over the bathroom tub, walls and floor. When I ran the shower in the morning, the tub filled with brown water! It cleared up after ~ 10 minutes of running the water. There were strips of laminate peeling from […] the tables and the room smelled of smoke. It was convenient to the convention center and reasonably priced. I can not recommend this hotel to anyone. "Unexpectedly Terrific Hotel!"
This hotel was perfect for us. The room was clean, the beds very comfortable and the pillows fluffy. While the exterior isn't much, the interior of the hotel deserves more than a 2 star rating. The location was excellent. Just about everything on our to-do list ended up being within a 15 minute walk of the hotel; voodoo donuts, Saturday Mkt, Pearl District […] (Powell's Bookstore), Riverfront walk, etc. While the building across the street looks like the upper floors are condemned the rest of the neighborhood felt safe. We are two women and we felt comfortable walking everywhere, even late at night. There is a unique bar/restaurant (The Douglas FIr) almost across the street and a good coffee shop down the block. The front desk staff was friendly and knowledgable. They went above & beyond with helpful information about touring the area. This will be my hotel on all my trips to Portland from here on out! "Could have had a cheaper price..."
Honestly I don't think I am very hard to please, however there were some things that people need to know if they are considering staying at this hotel: 1. Location: not bad, Burnside is the main avenue that separates North Portland from South Portland and it's very close to public transportation and other attractions BUT, right now (9/11-13/2012) they […] have construction going on next to the parking lot, which starts making lots of noise from ~7:30AM to ~5PM , it also thickens the air in the room with dust.. Not good :/ 2. Room itself: the bed is decent, couldn't figure out the AC/Heater but there was no need since it had plenty of blankets. Had a very convenient small fridge. Microwave if you need it. Disappointment - The smell of the room (weird Ethanol like smell), & the shower door had some mildew on the bottom border .. Esthetics: the color or the building and the whole look is bland grayish dark .. Made me think of a jail.. I wouldn't really call the Eastside Lodge a hotel...it is more of a motel. I am no stranger to "roughing it", but I must admit that upon stepping into the lobby and then subsequently my room, the thought did cross my mind to go to a nice hotel. I decided to stay because I was exhausted after flight delays and kept in the back of my mind that I hadn't […] found any indication that the Eastside Lodge had cases of bed bugs in the past. If you're going to stay here, you must be willing to over look the "cheap, dated motel" feeling, set aside your high standards and settle. It's been said before, but if you understand that with a motel like this - in this location, and at this price - you get what you pay for, you'll enjoy your stay a lot. I stayed in a room with a single king size bed that was comfortable with clean sheets and blankets. It was very hot in Portland for my entire stay, and the fact that the AC in the room […] worked perfectly was crucial. The bathroom was clean, and the shower worked well, with good water pressure. The staff were a standout highlight of my stay; the man at the front desk provided me with a map of Portland, information about the different quadrants of the city (ie. SW, NW, North Portland, etc.), and really helpful advice re: bus routes and trains. Not a lot of frills - no coffee maker, but there was a mini-fridge and safe that worked. No hair dryer, but I simply asked at the front desk and they provided me with one for the duration of my stay at no charge. Great motel for students, couples, or families that are looking for a clean, practical and (fairly) quiet room. Nothing lavish, but very acceptable. Would stay again for sure. Graffiti everywhere on building and in elevator. Bad part of town. Room very cramped and smelled like mold. Didn't stay the three days I paid for!!! Don't stay!!Ósvikin umsögn gesta á Expedia

"Worth the price"
For the lower price it was cost-effective. The rooms were kept clean and the wireless worked very well. It is a 15 minute walk to the Convention Center and from there Portland's fabulous public transportation system lets you travel anywhere. I took the mass transit from the airpot to the Convention Center, walked 15 minutes with my suitcase trailing […] me, and that was it! For $2.40 that's a steal.
