We (2 adults + 1 child) stayed here 3 days before our cruise from Rome (Civitavecchia) and 1 day after. Very pleased with the hotel and would come again. Staff pleasant and helpful. Rooms and bathrooms clean, tidy and spacious, high ceiling and interior oozes old classy charm. Free quite fast wi-fi internet for hotel guests. Good central location, close to Terminal station, 15-20 min walk to most of the famous sights. Breakfast buffet quite good and the coffee machine, although automatic, makes an almost perfect cappuchino... for us a BIG PLUS. Some nice restaurants in the vicinity like the Gallo Matto, 5 minutes walk down on Cavour. Just a little minus: Bed mattresses a bit hard for my taste, but slept well anyway.

Pros: - Great location (Colosseum, super market and good restaurants) - Friendly and very helpful staff. - Clean rooms - Computer with internet access in each room. Cons: The only cons that I can think of are: - Very little floor space to store luggage (Minor problem) - Breakfast was only a croissant and a water/cafe at a bakery near by. Would be great if there were some fruits as well. But this hotel is perfect for a couple that are looking for a relatively cheap hotel in a great location! I would recommend this hotel to any couple and if I go back to Rome I would use this hotel again.

Location was pretty good near the city center, about 10 min. bus ride. Staff was very helpful and kind. The room was very nice but the air conditioning was poor. Free internet connection, but it did not work in the room though.

The hotel felt more suited for business travelers and larger groups. It was a very large hotel and similar to traditional chain hotels. The rooms were not very comfortable. The beds were hard (but that seems to be in all hotels we stayed in Europe). We were there in March and they did not have A/C activated. Good service, nice staff, nice facilities. The only issue I had was the way they found extra things to charge you for. When we left we were charged 30 euros for a visitor's tax, which we weren't told about before hand. Also, they don't offer free internet. They charge you 18 euros for 24 hours of coverage. "Cicerone Hotel - November 2011"
The hotel it self was ok and clean. However I would not rate it as 4 star hotel. - when we arrived the had booked us in for the wrong date. - tv didn't work, needed to call for help - toilet seat broke I think this hotel was probably a 4 star hotel in the beginning of the 90's. But the location was ok and we walked everywhere....
"Cicerone in Rome"
The hotel service was poorly responsive. The room was hot and they had turned off the airconditioning the week before. We have stayed there before and were amazed at the difference. WIFI available but at high cost. We were very disappoointed and will choose another venue when we return to Rome

The hotel is adequate but don't expect great service. We found the service at the front desk to be indifferent, bordering on downright rude. The barman was very friendly and professional, in stark contrast to the staff on the concierge desk. We dined in the restaurant once and found the food very average so didn't follow up with another visit. Luckily […] there are many dining options in the streets around the hotel. "The Hotel Cicerrone - an overpriced dump"
This hotel was terrible value for money. It is certainly not a 4 star and the location is not great. You could get closer to all the sights for the same price. The rooms are horrible, old fashioned, lumpy beds more like a 2 star. It is clean but for the money go somewhere else.
"3 Day Visit at Cicerone Hotel"
We visited Christmas week. I would highly recommend this Hotel. We had a baby with us on the trip, we were put in a quiet room with a cot without asking. All the Staff asked us our baby's name and called him by his name for the whole trip. They were all cheerful an helpful which added to the stay. The food was great, we all stuffed ourselves every […] morning. It was served with a smile. The bar was very plesant, we had a drink there every night. Both rooms were huge, with large bathrooms, closets, refriderator, tv - all the bells & whistles. The room was cleaned perfectly everyday - and all the soups were replaced. The supplied lovely shampoo shower gell, shower hat, shoe shine, soups and vanity kit. Remember to bring your conditioner! When we were leaving the hotel booked our taxi. Nice hotel in great location. Staff seem to be overloaded. The person who checked me in could use some customer relatons skills. told me to take a seat for a long wait. It was 4 p.m. when we got there and i told him our reservation had been made and paid for for a long time. He said he knew but "You have to understand I'm trying to do my best for you." "Very conveniently located hotel"
Very nice hotel...easy to find, and close to all the main points of interest in Rome. We walked to several historic sites within minutes. Room was spacious and clean. Air conditioning took a while to cool down, but eventually cooled off the room. Concierge was very helpful in booking transportation to the airport and giving directions to places of interest. "Beautiful Lobby. OK Room. GREAT RESTAURANT!"
This place had a beautiful lobby. It was actually quite impressive when we walked in. The employees were all dressed in full suits and we really felt the place was quite upscale. Then we tried to check in and they could not find us anywhere. They basically implied that we were in the wrong place. I assured them that was not the case and had to dig […] through my bag to find the reservation page I had printed from this website. It was only then that they made an effort to find the room. It took them about 20 more minutes but they finally figured it out. Once we got into the room we noticed that the room itself was much less impressive then the lobby! The bed was very old and about as comfortable as cardboard, I would like to note that this was the largest hotel room we stayed in during our entire time in Europe. The bathroom had one of the smallest showers I had ever seen. The location was excellent and was very convenient to many restaurants, shoppes and the metro. I would also like to note that the restaurant at this hotel was amazing! The food was some of the best we had during our entire trip. If you get the chance, please try the pistachio creme brulee. "Great Location"
The hotel was in a great location--the bus stop just outside the hotel took you right into the heart of Rome. The hotel itself was clean and the air conditioning worked which was essential in August. Also the restaurant across the street was fantastic. The only thing I wish I had known before staying there was that it was a hotel used by many tour […] groups, workshops and cruise ships, so the front desk was often chaotic and the staff was frequently occupied with trying to sort those guests out. When I go to Europe, I try to find smaller hotels with more charm and more personal attention. If that's what you're looking for, I wouldn't stay in this hotel. Lesa meira

"Great hotel; not-so-helpful staff"
While the room itself was nice and the hotel clean and comfortable, the staff was a bit rude and unhelpful at times.
"Very Nice..."
Hotel was very close to the Vatican, Piazza de Popolo and about a 15 min walk from Piazza Navona. Breakfast was good although the selection was a bit lacking and it was the same selection everyday. There is high speed internet in every room but since we did not have our computer with us we had to use the one in the lobby, they charge 5 Euro for 15 min. Ottimo hotel che consiglio a tutti quelli che desiderano trascorrere un periodo di relax nella capitale. Trattamento ottimo sio per quanto riguarda l'accoglienza che il successivo trattamento.

Hotel extremement bien situé au coeur de Rome et malgré tout très calme. Très bon niveau de service. Personnel accueillant et prevenant. Vraiment a recommandé.
"Velfungerende og i orden"
Hotel Cicerone er et klassisk amerikaner-hotel indrettet som US-kædehoteller er flest. Brune og beige afdæmpede farver i "tunge Materialer". Hotellet er ikke sprudlende i forhold til udbud af tilbud for hotellets gæster, men der er dog et fitness lokale. Morgenmaden er traditionel kontinental i kantine-kvalitet. Der var dog frisk frugt. Konklusion : […] hotellet er velfungerende hvis man er i Rom for at opholde sig i byen hele dagen - værelset er pænt rengjort og morgenmaden dækker ens behov som optakt til en lang dag på gaden. "Mysigt och trevligt hotell - nära till allt"
Ett trevligt hotell med för det mesta trevlig personal. Hotellet låg nära det mesta, vi gick överallt. Vatikanen och piazza navona låg väldigt nära vilket var trevligt. En sämre del var att hotellets AC gick sönder efter andra dagen och den lagades aldrig, det var tråkigt. Vi är huvudsakligen mycket nöjda med hotellet och det rekommenderas varmt.
