The Rembrandt – London

The hotel is very good in itself ok, but the staff is really bad. They don't answer questions correctly and dosen't seem eager to check it, they just make assumptions. When I asked what a ticket on the subway costs they made a guess and didn't even bother to check it. They also insisted that you can't top up your oyster card with cash. Which is false. Aslo […] I think a 4 star hotel shoulden't charge 3 pounds for 30 minutes on a computer with low internet connection speed!!! Efficient staff, great room, great location. good breakfast but tables are bit close together giving a bit of a cafe feel!

The room was nicely located, but man was it hot in the room. I opened the window over the night, but it never cooled off. The bedroom is very small, but sufficient.

Great location in great neighborhood. Close to tube stations. Right across the street from V and A. Close to shops, cafes, restaurants. Hotel staff is very nice. Rooms are little outdated and small and noisy. you can hear next door neighbors closing their drawers, doors...can be annoying if you are not an early bird.

I booked this hotel for myself and business guests when attending an event. After being disappointed with previous hotels booked I was expecting much of the same but was pleasantly surprised. The receptionist was very welcoming and having to change a few rooms around,nothing nwas too much trouble. I stayed in an executive room which was spacious,clean […] and included an ironing board(sadly lacking in many others). The bed was huge,comfortable and the area was quiet where my room was located. The hotel impressed my guests too and I would certainly have no problem recommending this hotel to anyone. Lesa meira

The breakfast buffet was great. Location was great, short walk to Harrod's and Hyde Park. Across the street from Victoria and Albert Museum. Nearby Tube stop. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Pleasant lobby, cozy lounge area. Cafe was rather sterile feeling but food was good. Rooms were a little worn but clean. I'd go back.

We had a double room which was not suitable as one side of the bed was by the wall and we are not young. However, the next morning we were offered a lovely room after informing the them at reception. The location is perfect for Harrods andThe Royal Albert Hall both a short walk away. First time staying at the Rembrandt and loved it. I travel every year to London for work and will be back next year.

Though the room was smaller than I expected, the high quality breakfast included more than made up for the smaller room. Superb service at breakfast, with huge selection including all the expected choices. Excellent Conceige service at front desk, ready to assist. Staff helpful, room comfortable.

the staff seemed to be in the middle of a row when we turned up. They were extremely rude and unhelpful. In fact I do not think they even looked up once and said 'hello' Also parking is impossible although this is inevitable due to location, but something to think about Room was OK nothing special.

Lovely hotel in great location for museums and knightsbridge. First class breakfast included in price. Would recommend to others.

The hotel was close to all the museums restaurants and tube station. Not far from all the must see sights and theatres. Comfortable hotel with big rooms and wifi available. Good breakfasts and courteous and professional staff. Would highly recommend hotel to anyone visiting London.

This was a real find after trying various other London hotels in different areas. The overall ambience, and the comfort and standard of room combined with attentive service made this hotel a winner for me. The package provided very good value for money while the convenient location was a decided plus factor. The closeness of major cultural institutions, […] shopping and transport options (including ease of access from Heathrow) made my stay so much more enjoyable. We sadly were only there for 1 night but thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very conveniently located for our 2 day trip. Worth another visit!

Good friendly service with perfect location opposite the V&A .The hotel seems to cater for tourists rather than business.

My family chose this hotel as it was not far to go to Buckingham Palace as I was attending an investiture there. Check-in was swift and couteous, even with a new girl on the desk, and my party of 8 were soon in the rooms. Very clean and tidy rooms, lovely to see tea-making facilities!. We had a meal in the Palette restaurant for 11 guests that evening, […] the bar service was inobtrusive but efficient, the only thing that let the hotel down was the service. Meals were served sporadically, meaning some had to start for fear of their ,eals being cold, but overall the food was excellent quality. Check-out was again extremely efficient. I noticed when I got home that my credit card company registered 3 transactions for the stay - on arrival; the meal; and check out; even though I paid in entirety on check-out. This caused a problem with my credit card company but it was resolved. Overall, I would recommend this hotel (despite the road works which do not intrude) to fellow travellers, indeed the canadian and american guests we met seemed to enjoy the hotel. The Rembrandt is directly opposite the Victoria & Albert Museum and surrounded by the fashionable South Kensington neighborhood. The room price included a very good breakfast buffet. The access to transportation is very good. Part of the hotel has been modernized with motion activated lights and touch switches which failed one night in the full on position. […] The hotel staff acted quickly to give us another room to sleep in and had the faulty switches repaired early the next day. The hotel is busy with some tour groups and has a busy bar at night. Good double glazing on the windows made the room quiet for sleeping. Ideally situated for museums,Hyde Park & Harrods etc and Royal Parks half marathon

a short walk to Harrods, tour buses stop accross the road, staff were excellent for helping us with anything. Rooms were clean and very comfortable and breakfast was one of the best we ever had!

I would definitely go back the Rembrandt. It is as close to the A & V museum as you can get and the Natural History Museum is just a few blocks over. Close to shopping and Harrod's Department Store. Room was large and well equipped. All amenities in the room and the bed was comfortable.

Have stayed in this hotel many times before. When we arrived at the hotel we were told we were being upgraded from a delux to an executive room. Having stayed in a delux room in March we thought this would be great. However we feel the delux room was far superior than the executive room which was dark with only one window overlooking a fire escape. […] We would also feel that the staff on reception were not as friendly as we had experienced on previous visits. The Rembrandt is really close to the Natural History Museum and the Victoria & Albert Museum and the South Kensington Subway station. Also there are lots of nice restaurants (lots of variety) close to the hotel. The buffet breakfast was excellent. There is no wi-fi in the hotel rooms only internet connection via ethernet cable. There is wifi in the […] lobby and public areas. The Aquilla Spa which is adjoined to the hotel looks nice but the fee is approx $15/day per person to use the facilities - this is expensive if you just want to soak in the hot tub, however, this does include some classes such as pilates. An overrated hotel: the location is fantastic. The front desk is less than helpful from getting a cab to getting postage stamps. The heating/cooling is uneven. We stayed during a warm few days and asked the front desk to shut off the towel warmers because it was exuding heat. They never showed up. We won't go back.

The Rembrandt is an easy three block walk to the underground and great location for shopping and restaurants. We had an early morning arrival and no problems with early check-in and was upgraded to a better room at no extra charge. A full breakfast was included. Wonderful hotel located conveniently to museums, parks and numerous cafes. Loved it!

our plane from the us arrived early early in london we were so tired so sat in the room next to the dining area and the male maitre de told my husband to take his feet off the coffe table while we were sitting on the couch . I thought thats what coffee tables were for I thought it was very rude other than that we enjoyed our stay

This was our 6th stay at the Rembrandt but first since it was remodeled, and they did a nice job. Large rooms! Adequate breakfast, creaky floors, fine location in an upscale Knightsbridge/South Kensington neighborhood with good restaurants nearby.

I'd been to London before but never stayed in the South Kensington/Knightsbridge area. The Rembrandt is perfect for those landing at Heathrow--you can take the Piccadilly line right to the South K stop and the hotel is only a few blocks away. Everything, in fact, is only a few tube stops away--the London Eye, Paddington Station [I needed to travel to […] Oxford], etc. Room was a tab small, but the whirlpool tub made up for that! This hotel was very comfortable & a good location. Only 5 min walk to the underground, very convinient! Breakfast was great, lots of variety. The hotel was clean & well mantained. I would recommend this for anyone coming to London for a short or long stay.

The hotel was by far the most comfortable ,spacious and value for money experience we have had in London.We would certainly stay there again and hopefully have the same rooms as they were both very quiet ,clean and relaxing and of a very good size.

My husband and I stayed at the Rembrandt on our recent trip to London when we went to the Theatre. The hotel staff were friendly and efficient, our room was superb and the breakfast extensive and very enjoyable. We reserved an executive room w/king bed. The room was lovely w/balcony and was located across from the Victoria and Albert Museum and within walking distance of Harrod's. Our room was updated w/jacuzzi and shower. Nice amenities. Breakfast was included in our price and was extensive and delicious. Booked this hotel for its location, near to Hyde Park where we were going for a concert, didn't expect it to be so nice! Great for a stroll to Harrods and literally across the road from the V&A (just as the website said!!!) Mini bar prices abit steep but hotel bar prices not too bad and lovely comfy surroundings. This was a very good hotel in a great location. The morning b/fast was fantastic. The room was clean/new and in good condition but a bit smaller than what we're used to in Canada.

Could only spend one night in London, was glad to be able to book a room at the Rembrandt. Tried to get into a B&B we had stayed at in the past, but they were either all booked or would not accept a one-night reservation. The location turned out to be directly across the street from the Victoria and Albert Museum, and a few blocks from Royal Albert […] Hall. Although the hotel is on a rather busy street, our room overlooked the inner yard, and so was perfectly quiet. Everything was spotless and well-done. The breakfast buffet was quite lavish, the service friendly and attentive. London has become ridiculously expensive, so all things considered, this hotel seemed to be a decent value for the money. We are two ladies and found the hotel to be in a great location and close to public transport and restaurants, cafes and shopping. The room was clean and the beds were lovely and comfortable . The breakfast was plentiful, delicious and a perfect way to start the day for sight-seeing. I would highly recommend The Rembrant.

For a four star, very disappointing, I'd give it a 2, bathroom was dirty, very old and run down inside. Location was great, though

Return visit for 2 night stay. Arrived tired after long tedious journey but our room was great with everything we needed. Our car was taken to the secure car park and picked up for us at the end of 24hrs, as soon as street parking was free, ready for us when we left. Really appreciated this and the special tariff.

Professionally run lovely hotel. I just can't understand some of the negative comments on this hotel. Rooms were very well appointed. Very posh area, opposite the V and A. A very pleasant 5 minute walk from the tube. Free fast Internet connection in room which alway makes me like the management. Breakfast was included and it was an impressive buffet. […] I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to any of my friends. Minuses? The only one I can think of was that we could have done with "do not disturb" sign in our room. The only sign in our room had "please make up my room" on both sides.
