Super 8 Urbandale/Merle Hay Road – Urbandale

The bathroom tub needs bars to hold on to or the tub needs a mat. The tub was very slick. Other than that it was ok.

We had two rooms, one room was fine, but the other was very warm because the air conditioner wasn't working properly (230) and was out of toilet paper. Otherwise, our stay was fine. We like the fact that it is pet friendly, and would recommend it to others ... and would try it again.

I thought it was horrible. The lights on the wall were all hanging on the wall by one screw. It looked as if a little child had wrote on the walls. The blanket all had holes in them. The towel hangers were falling off the wall. The room had a nasty smell. My girlfriend and 2 kids all woke up with rashes after just one night stay at the super 8. The […] next night we bought blankets from walmart so we didnt have to sleep with the other blankets in the room. And the a/c unit sounded like a semi truck was parked in the room. Good for the money but nothing outstanding. Bathroom is small. Beds are comfortable.

I stayed at this hotel to avoid bad weather. I used the pool which was older but adequate. The best thing about the stay was that the bed was surprisingly comfortable and I even thought of calling them to see what kind of beds they use. The negative is that the hotel is older and smells of old cigarette smoke in places. Also, they have complimentary […] internet but didnt work in my room that was far away from the lobby. The Hotel itself was ok and the stay was ok, ALTHOUGH there was a STRONG odor that seem to hang around by a side door entrance. AND, I didn't feel comfortable walking in the room BAREFOOT-carpet felt a bit ICKY. It would have been nice if there would have been MORE of a VARIETY for breakfast (like bagels) and a bit tastier. The front desk clerks were […] NOT at all knowledgable of nearby attractions for out-of-town guest and at times seemed "put-out" to assist. APPEARANCE (grooming habits), willing to assist and SOME knowledge of nearby attractions is VERY important and very HELPFUL and somewhat expected of Hotel clerks. Lesa meira

We had to move to a different room at midnight because when we turned on the heater it started smoking and smelled like burnt plastic. Came down for breakfast and there was nothing left and the man at the desk was just sitting there.

Rates were good, however, the cleanliness was very questionable. The pool was not clear it was cloudy. We found a used bandaide and a wrapper under the matteress. Breakfast area was not clean and the tables were not cleaned after use. I would not recommend this hotel nor will we be staying there again.

We booked this by phone from the road because we needed somewhere to sleep. The room was non-smoking room that smelled heavily of smoke. Everything was saturated with the smell and we had a very hard time sleeping. Pool was murky-looking.

the room reeked of urine (not the bathroom, but the actual room). It was terrible...I had to go out into the hallway if I wanted to get away from it. It smelled as if an animal has urinated on the carpet and it had never been cleaned. The room had no towels....I only discovered this as I was getting into the shower.
