Not a fancy place but very comfortable and very conveniently located to the attractions we wanted to visit. Desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. If you are the picky sort looking for plush accommodations and gourmet cuisine, look elsewhere. "not recommend"
smell bad,old and not very clean
"NOT SUITABLE"
This is one of the worst motels we have ever stopped at for the night. It was dirty when we walked into the outer door, and smelled--bad. The room was very dirty, looked like food in the carpet between the beds, wadded up paper with lipstick blotches was on the floor in the bathroom. The curtains were a couple of inches from the bottom of the window. […] The manager wanted to give us another room. That room, next to the first room was just as dirty and when we tried to turn the lights on, they did not work, no light at all in the room. I told my husband let's just leave and find another place. "O'Briens just off I-94"
Overall this is a satisfactory place to stay. However, we were originally placed in a room facing the noisy Interstate although. the hotel was almost empty. Upon request, we were moved to an inside room. The cleaning staff did not empty our waste baskets or replace our coffee setups and cups. The breakfast was adequate. "Reasonable and quiet"
O'Briens is not fantastic, but a solid 'pretty good." Staff is nice and will go out of their way. Continental breakfast is decent but nothing spectacular. My room was clean and there were no problems. I didn't see any of the issues people complained about in previous reviews. A good place to stay at a reasonable price. I would stay there again and recommend […] it if you're not fussy or are looking for pampering. If you want a quiet, local place to stay that is near everything you need, this is the place. "O'BrienInn and Resort"
If you will just be using the hotel as a place to lay your head after a day at the casino this might be the place for you. If you are over 5'4" the shower will definately be a challenge. The bathtubs are old and the stopper was not in place. The walls could use a new coat of paint; and the hotel management leaves notes all over the room. The pool area […] left a lot to be desired. The continental breakfast....no coffee in the pot, a few shriveled up pancakes, round eggs that were made for an egg mcmuffin, a few plain bagels and sweet rolls; oh yes and sausages. Was not at all welcoming and the staff at the desk was not very friendly. Why is it called a resort? Did not have resort amenities. Would only recommend as a last resort. Lesa meira

"Obriens Inn Resort - poorly run"
We checked in ... room hadn't been cleaned even though it was evening and hotel was empty. Desk clerk in the evening was clueless, and the one in the morning was her match. There were three decaf coffee packs in the room. When I asked for regular she looked puzzled saying she didn't think they put regular in the rooms.

The hotel is a bit dated on the inside. There are some cosmetic changes that could be made such as painting the stairway walls and polishing the faucets in the bathroom. However, our stay was very good. It is very close to the Four Winds Casino. Our room was clean. The staff was very helpful. We had a first floor room near the door so that my husband […] could get in very easily. The breakfast was fine. The outside of the building was well kept and there were flowers in the flower beds in front of the hotel. We enjoyed our stay and will return when we visit Four Winds again. Lesa meira
"Resort my foot!"
Pay $20-30 more and stay in a clean hotel that has a decent breakfast option. Gross on 1000 levels! I was happy to leave and I love staying in hotels. The staff was great but they need to renovate big time!!!!

Our stay at O'Briens Inn and Resort was a very nice, relaxing stay. A bit older of place with double-beds, but nice and cozy. Very close to our point of destination, Four Winds casino, we had no problem getting in and out at whatever time we wanted to come and go. It was very accessible to I-94 and we traveled into Indiana and visited the Blue Chip […] casino the morning we checked out--then returned to the Four Winns casino. Room was not what we booked. Water was black. Rooms were very old. Very expensive for what we got. I would not stay here again.

Rooms were ok could use some updating. Beds are small (double beds). Close to casino which is why we were there and for overnight price was good. Breakfast was a pass for us, got coffee but food did not look that great.

We went to gamble, not spend time in the hotel. The hotel was right off I94 and very near Four Winds Casino. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. We didn't use the pool. The breakfast was good. Overall for the price and convenient location this hotel worked out excellent for us, and we'll stay there again next time we go to Four Winds.

Based on all the reviews I read, was nervous about booking, but everybody said the breakfast was good, so I figured since the location worked for us, we'd give it a try. Definitely needs some cleaning up. Dated and just not well kept. The courtyard was full of weeds and just looked run down. Beds were very uncomfortable and the breakfast was cold and […] horrible!!! "O'Brien Resort in New Buffalo, MI"
The resort (losely stated) is very much in need of updating. I saw other reviews which said the breakfast was very good. No so with us. We got to the breakfast at 9:15. The eggs were cold, the pancakes had to be microwaved and there were no sausages. Not at all what we expected, nor what we paid for.

I did read the other reviews on this hotel from 06' and I gotta say, whoever took over management on this place is doing an excellent job! Our rooms were very clean and comfortable. They also had a little game room with some old school pinball/arcade games and a pool table. The pool was nice and heated, the only gripe I had about that was that it didn't […] have a deep end, it only went to 5'. The biggest plus??? The pool was open 24hrs!!!!!! I have never been to a place that offers that...it was relaxing to go for a 2am swim after coming in from a night out! We got a great deal, almost 50 percent off some of the other sites for a night at this place. Highly recommended! Lesa meira
