Hotel location is perfect, close to Plaza Mayor, restaurants and shops all in few minute walking distances. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great location and very friendly staff. Shower was good but the only negative side was the bed, it could be more comfortable.

The hotel room was very noisy, we were on the sixth floor but we could hear traffic and voices in the street all night even with the windows shut. The room was also cold. Very convenient location as we could walk to all the major tourist sights. Also right beside the metro station.

"Comfortable"
A location perfect in the centre of Madrid, excellent for sight seeing, theatre and cinema enthusiasts. Check in was a little slow as was check out. On leaving the elevator on my allocated floor I was shocked by the state of the carpet in the common areas, threadbare somewhat dirty. I was however relieved when entering my room and seeing the much improved […] carpet. Rooms were nicely decorated however in most other hotels of 3 star the individual rooms tend to have larger beds rather a simple single bed. I did not take advantage of the breakfast offered and the room servise consisted of a menu for the local Telepizza. There vending machines available for coffee, soft drinks, crisps and sweets in the first floor lounge. In conclusion for the price I payed through Hotels.com I was happily satisfied however, their advertised, walk in price, is somewhat expensive for the standard. Lesa meira
"Best location at best price"
location is great, but only go there if you get a bargain deal. The hotel has a 70's feeling. It needs refurbishment: very low water pressure in the shower (hot water takes 5 minutes to come), old lifts, old curtains and decoration... unusual in the Tryp Melia hotels which usually are much nicer. Wifi is not included In the area, you have much nicer […] hotels (Praktik Metropol is brand new, or Senator), for the same price. Lesa meira
"Location good, hotel average"
Good location (next to Metro station). Single room small and simple. It smelt awfull. Safe didn't work (had to put money). Internet overprized! Would look for other choices.
"Old & tired"
Save your money and don't stay at this hotel. The rooms are very small and need to be remodled. Although the area is centraly located it has hookers all over the place after dark.
"Tryp Hotel Madrid"
There is nothing special with this hotel apart from the location, you do not need to have a wake up call or set your alarm as you will be waken up once the day starts, due to the structure of the building you can here anything happening outside of your room, speakings, lifts, doors, so and so, all I can say is the location really good and thats it.

This hotel is in a great location, right beside the Grand Via metro stop. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. I did think the décor was a bit tired round the edges but this did not affect my stay in any way. The room window had frosted glass and overlooked a internal "courtyard" which mean that the room was very dark even during […] the day. It did have the advantage that the room was quiet and you could not hear any noise from the street. There is a computer with paid internet access in the lobby and vending machines (coffee, juice, food) on the first floor. There is also a 24hr shop just round the corner from the hotel. Lesa meira

"Fabulous location"
Great stay at this hotel.2 nights. Front desk is outstanding, very professional, friendly and fast. They seem to anticipate what guests need. Rooms are quiet and clean, bed very comfortable. "Great location"
This hotel is a great location to access everythig in Madrid. If you don't want teh traffic to keep you awake and you don't mind not having a street view out your window, ask for a room in the back, it is quiet and easier to rest. The front desk was helpful, and very accomodating, let us have a late check out when we asked.

"more than I expected"
Much more than I expected because of previous reviews. I highly recommend it.
"If you want cheap and central"
This is an okay hotel. Dont expect any type of "help" from the staff. We asked for ice and wine glasses--none available--but I guess that's what you get for 3 star hotel. Its a convenient location--but also a bit dodgy. Lots of ladies of night--but lingering around all day. Great for the price!

This is a great hotel for what you pay, the location is the best, breakfast is ok too, service is decent....just the rooms are not the best, but are average for europe standards.

Honestly, this location could NOT be more perfect. But seriously, when they put you in a room that says non-smoking and it smelt like there was some sort of smoking festival in my room the night before, you are not going to be happy. "Tryp Gran Via"
Please stay away from this hotel, it is absolutely terrible. probably the worst hotel i have ever stayed at and that includes a couple of hostels. talking of which hostel probably better describes this hotel...or even hostile! on check in they had the wrong booking and instead of getting 2 double rooms we got one twin room, after we got this sorted […] we got 2 twin rooms without not so much as an apology. the internet is extra which is a very high price for one hour or go for the daily rate which is cheaper but still 1/5 of the daily room rate! i did save some money here because we were told the internet was not working!! the rooms were the most basic rooms i have stayed in at any hotel. very dated with and not at all well maintained eg rotten skirting boards, dirty black grout, cracked and chipped bathroom wall and floor tiles (almost all of them!). the beds were thin and uncomfortable. the room was either 2 hot or too cold. the hot water took forever to come on. the only modern thing about the room was a flat screen tv stuck to the wall with wires trailing underneath. the safe was a joke! put in 1 euro, turn key to lock, key doesnt come out, turn key back to open, 1 euro disappears! a safe that doesnt lock but takes your money each time you open it!? 2 things i can say positive about this hotel. it was clean considering how dated it is, the maids do a good job of cleaning old badly maintained rooms. the location is on gran via which is the main tourist street. the downside of gran via is the constant traffic noise and the tramps and prostitutes everywhere. i could go on and on about how rubbish this hotel is but i dont have time and i think you probably get the idea by now. "Excellent central location"
The hotel was as always a very good deal through Hotels.com. It served me well, both in location and cost. I will stay there again when I visit Madrid in the very near future.
"Perfectlly reasonable"
Nothing special. The room wasn't very big, but it was clean, although the carpet had had something spilt on it and was stained. The bathroom was good. Bed was comfy. Central position. I would never pay the full price for this hotel.

"Buen nivel de satisfacion"
Una estupenda ubicacion, mucha amabilidad por parte del personal y un gran desayuno buffet con oferta de fin de semana! Muy recomendable.

En el brochure se indicate que el destino esta a inckuido. Now lo cobraron sin embargo al hacer el check-out. No nos parecio muy correcto, pero lo cancelamos de todas maneras, en efectivo.
El hoten necesita una reforma total, los baños dejan mucho que desear, los productos de aseo brillan por su ausencia, la decoración o elementos antiguos. En general no parece que el establecimiento perrtenezca a la cadena TRYP

La habitación individual demasiado incomoda, pequena y bastante ruidosa. Hotel bastante deprimente, no lo aconsejo para nada. La ubicación excelente, el metro en la puerta del hotel.
"Antiguo y oscuro"
He estado hospedada en este hotel durante el fin de semana de 21- 22 enero 2012. Al principio nos ofrecieron una habitacion en el cuarto piso con una ventana hacia el patio interior, osea nada de luz. El baño, antiguo, feo y aparte parecia sucio pero solo por el dezgaste del suelo y de las instalaciones. El ascensor antiguo, hacia mucho ruido y realmente […] daba miedo entrar. Al quejarnos, nos cambiaron a una habitacion en el octavo piso - tambien con vista al patio interior pero por lo menos tenia luz (al ser la ultimo piso). El hotel vale la pena por la ubicacion y si te toca algubna habitacion con luz. pero si no, parece que hayas entrado en un agujero. Lesa meira

A sua localizacao permite o deslocamento em Madrid com muita facilidade. O preco e coerente com o servico prestado.

Versleten vloerbedekking en gedateerde inrichting. Prima bedden. Zeer centraal gelegen, alles is eigenlijk prima te belopen. Aan de achterkant geslapen in alle rust. Goede airco. Veel leuke ontbijttentjes in de buurt.

Es un hotel de precio muy fluctuante, que puede duplicarse entre una semana u otra. Si está a precio económico es una opción, porque cumple con lo básico, si sus precios suben hay mejores opciones cercanas. Lo bueno, El desayuno no es muy variado, pero es tipo bufet y agradable, La ubicación inmejorable a las puertas del metro de Gran Vía. Lo malo: […] argumentando que es un equipo viejo APAGAN el aire acondicionado a las 2 am y lo vuelven a encender a las 10 am todos los dias (incluido Verano de Agosto), los pisos crujen al caminar por la habitación lo cual intimida en la noche tarde para no molestar los huespedes cercanos. Las habitaciones tienen mobiliario de hace 30 años, Internet es costoso, pero al rededor hay opciones como Mc Donald donde es gratis, Está a la entrada de la Montanera que es la calle tradicional de prostitutas, quizás una de las pocas calles peligrosas de la zona. "GRAN VIA MUY BUENA OPCIÓN"
La ubicación es excelente. El desayuno recomendable, las habitaciones ok. Din duda es una exc elente opción.

El hotel era super ruidoso, la habitación muy chiquita, la cama muy dura, y había mucho olor que provenia del baño por tener mal las cloacas
"No hot water, pay-per-close, noisy"
Three annoyances: 1. The hot-water pressure on the 4th floor is so low that it is almost impossible to take a hot shower – unless one prefers cold showers, the cold-water pressure being slightly higher. The bath tub fills in about 50 minutes. 2. The safe in the room charges you one non-refundable euro per close! I have never seen anything like this […] before and hopefully never will again. 3. During my stay, the hotel accomodated a couple of Spanish school classes, the students being around 12-13 years old. The staff did literally nothing to keep the children from roaming the corridors screeming and shouting, playing with the lifts and banging their windows open and shut all night. Lesa meira

"Hotel bom, bem localizado mas..."
O hotel é bem localizado, porém, à noite, existe muita prostituição nas ruas laterais o que é complicado quando se viaja com família, embora não haja abordagem a presença é constante. O quarto é de bom tamanho mas se forem os quartos da parte frontal, o transito na Gran Via torna-o desconfortável. No quarto que eu fiquei não tinha nem frigoabar. Usei […] pouco os serviços do hotel pra poder avaliar. O hotel não é novo, logo tem algumas coisas, por exemplo, chuveiros sem regulagem de altura o que dificulta quando se tem mais de 1,70 m de altura. No Mais é um hotel razoável de bom custo benefício, ou seja, se quiser preço e localização (falicidade de locomoção) este é o hotel. Mas se quiser um hotel mais confortável e tranquilo procure outro. Wij hebben in dit hotel overnacht tijdens een stedentrip. Hotel ligt op een perfecte locatie, middenin het centrum en op loopafstand van zo'n beetje alles. Hotel is prima verzorgd en netjes, voor deze prijs zeker een aanrader.

Ben samen met 3 vrienden naar Madrid gegaan om een weekend te stappen, we bleven 2 nachten in dit hotel, goede bedden, knappe badkamer en goede klimaatbeheersing. Voor het geld dat ik heb betaald voor een kamer echt een aanrader, dicht bij het centrum, metro op 50 meter lopen, heel veel restaurants in de buurt om te eten tegen een leuke prijs, geweldige […] omgeving en alles was schoon.
