I was not happy with my stay. We were only able to get a "smoking" room. It smelt awful! It was very difficult being in the room. My clothes still smell like smoke.

"Convenient location"
Great location to break up the long journey north to Maine. It has a good breakfast with compostable tableware! Liked the clean, nature-inspired decor, also.

We were very happy with our stay. The continental breakfast was good. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The only negative - perhaps minor - although we noted it mentioned in a previous review as well - is that our hall floor needed vacuuming. "Just OK"
The hotel staff was very courteous. Room was not ready at 2:30 when I arrived. When I came back latter 4:00 it was ready. One sheet on one of the beds was dirty. The room was on the small side and tight with two double beds. The bathroom was clean and on the small side. Beds were lumpy and hard. Breakfast was good, but nothing to write home about. Location […] was not that great for where I was going, Univ. of New Haven. Everything considered the price was on the high side. Spend a little more and get a better place. "Motor noise alittle loud"
In room 209 the AC/heater motor was a little on the loud side. I set the temp at 70 degrees. Might be time for service? Thanks

"Nice stay at Hampton Inn Meriden"
As usual, the quality of my stay at Hampton Inns remains high. I choose this chain over any other. I love breakfast/coffee availability in the morning. The only thing I noticed was that the cleanliness of the hallway outside my room was only mediocre. Cleanliness of the room was top notch.

The hotel itself was OK but some of the staff was very unpleasant. The young man running the desk at night was very nice as was the girl in the morning. But the older woman at night was very mean especially when we were looking for water and change for the machines. She makes people feel very unwelcome.

This property is always clean and the staff always pleasant and friendly. This is the nicest of the hotels in Meriden as far as we are concerned.

It was very easy to get to and off the highway. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. The breakfast was good. The only negative thing is that the parking lot could have been better cleared of snow and ice. I would definitely stay here again.

The staff was so helpful through out our stay. They were very accomodating! The breakfast was nice and they even make on-the-go bags for those in a rush out the door. The room was nice and clean!

I especially like the fact that the cleaning staff did not knock on our door too early in the morning to ask if they could clean the room, (as it happens in other places) ! Also I like the check out time (noon).

The Hampton Inn has a guarantee that if you are not satisfied, you do not pay. The staff at this property went so far above and beyond to make a smoking room into a nonsmoking one. Because of their dilligence and kindness, we were able to visit our new preemie grandchild in the hospital...........smelling like an ashtray would have prevented us from […] being allowed into the NICU.
