"Excellent location"
Very pleased with our stay! We were upgraded upon arriving which was very nice. Room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfy! Location was excellent a three minute walk from shopping and a ten minute walk from Bell Center! Staff was very friendly and helpful! Restaurant was a little pricey but served excellent food. "La Cantlie downtown Montreal"
The room was spacious and and was worth the price. The parking was at a different hotel which costs me $10 more then advertised. Was 10 min walk from Bell Centre and many restaurants in vicinity.

The hotel is like steeping back to a day were luxury was and every day thing. Like and old friend welcoming you in. The room was very well kept and spacious. The staff is friendly and very helpful
Good location. Close to Metro & Underground City. The staff in the front desk are friendly and helpful. The elevator is a bit small and not as clean but maybe it is after the snow days. The Business Centre is convenient for the guest with free internet.

Lobby desk wasn't very patient and they were a bit rude. Not exactly very genuine either seemed very disinterested in every question that I might've had. the hotel wasn't very up to date either just not the best of hotels.

Stayed over Xmas this year; great place, really effectively priced. Courteous staff. My only knock is that I wish they had bigger screened tv's, & more channels. Otherwise, great place, great sized rooms, etc...

Le Cantlie Suites provides large rooms compared to the average hotel in the centre of a large city. The rooms are okay, although they are not brand new nor recently refurbished. The kitchenette is nice and we used it for breakfast. We did not try the hotel breakfast as I presumed it was overpriced. This hotel does not provide free wifi, although they […] did not charge outrageous amounts for it (5CAD for 24 h). All in all a decent hotel and we got a good price. I would recommend it as it was good value for money, especially if you plan on using the kitchenette like us. If you do not put particular value on large rooms or a kitchenette there might be other options. Lesa meira

Cannot beat the location of this hotel. It is close to everything you need to do in Montreal. Room was clean and spacious -nice to have a separate living area from the bedroom. Cannot beat the price for a downtown hotel. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly.

This is a nice hotel, we went down for new years eve, we stayed in a suite, it was expensive however our room was loaded with features. you get what you pay for. room service and house keeping are both well done. i would definitely recommend this place and go again, as this was my second time going.

Great location. Walking distance to all downtown streets. Convenient for shopping , dining, and entertainment (theaters, clubs , pubs, restaurants ). Subway is close by (peel station). The suite at the hotel is a good choice. Kitchen comes in handy.

My friends and I stayed in this hotel for new years and it was exactly what we needed--and more. Our rooms had 2 queen beds and a whole kitchenette (stove, microwave, regular size fridge, cupboards with cookware, pots, pans, utensils-- everything!).. beds and linens were good.. location was great (like one block away from st. catherine street with all […] the shops and stuff). Upon check-in, then give u a really good detailed map of the surrounding area which helps.. so ya it was good and for a reasonable price! Lesa meira

This hotel far exceeded our expectations, the room was very comfortable, the kitchenette was an unexpected surprise, close to everything, and all for a great price! I am definitely planning on returning, this hotel was a great find!

It was amazing stay, and every one in the hotel is great and very friendly I will tell everyone plan to visit Montreal to go there in the hotel, the mattress so comfort
"hotel cantlie good hotel, good location..."
my wife and i stayed at the cantlie for eleven days ,we really liked the king size bed very comfortable , and the kictchen with fridge and stove ect was a big plus...parking was 23 dollars a night, a little expensive, but found parking on side street free from 9pm to 9am usally monday to wensday..lobby ect doors very slow to open and close but was not […] in a hurry haha ...front desk clerks friendly and helpfull..will stay thier again when in montreal.. We had a nice stay. Beds were great, rooms were a nice size and clean. The decor is a little dated and the available parking was far but other than that is was great. Location was great.

When I firsted walked into the very small lobby, I wondered if I had made a mistake booking this hotel. When I saw my room, I was more than pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. The room was large, there were French doors into the bedroom, and the bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in (and I've slepted in 100s in the past 40 years). "Amazing weekend!"
We were a group of 4 girls and we like to party! This hotel room was amazing! To save we went grocery shopping as they have a kitchenette in the room! And we were munching out all the time! BEds were comfortable but I would recommend and upgrade on the television but hey your out In the city most of the time! Overall this hotel was amazing =)

This hotel was in a great location for downtown shopping, eating and an easy walk to the park and its look out. Our room was comfy and the bathroom was pretty worn but it was clean. Right in the middle of everything. walking distance from crescent and from bell center. staff was friendly, and spoke fluent English also. Was in town for a bachelor party and had no issues whatsoever. hotel seemed happy to have us staying there. I would recommend and return to again if i travel back to Montreal.

Good location, good area of town, within walking distance to everything inside city center. Hotel's lobby needs some improvement. "Good place, few points to consider"
I tool this place because it was convenient, in location and price. I did not know that they had a roof-top pool, not until i read a few reviews after my reservation. However, the pool was closed due to winter season. The room-door opening with the key is complicated, and needs a bit of manuvering. The bathroom was clean and kept that way in a timely […] manner during my time at the hotel. Staff was accomodating. Hotel was in a great location, walking distance to many great places. Rooms need updating. Beds are old. Breakfast buffet was pricey for what was served.

Hotel LaCantlie is conveniently locagted in downtown Montreal near arts district, shopping, and Crescent street nightlife. Staff was polite and helpful, room was comfortable and reasonably priced. Hotel not exceptionally clean or modern. One draw back is lack of noise proofing - neighboring rooms and hallway noises were heard loud and clear.

Service wasn't the best, and the concierge was actually quite rude. I found the hotel to be dated, and overpriced, however the location was ideal. For the price, I would have stayed atthe Marriot Residence Inn (one block away) and had an amazing free breakfast. I will not choose this hotel again.

My wife smokes. I requested a "smoking room". Hotels.com indicated that they would forward that request. Upon arrival, I was told at the front desk that they had sold out of smoking rooms and apparently the request only surfaces shortly before arrival even though I requested sufficiently far in advance.

"good times"
Good hotel -- don't really know how this compares to other hotels in this price range, but I would guess fairly well. It was quite clean, well-stocked, etc. Initially had trouble with internet, but they fixed it straightaway (apparently higher floors have trouble getting the signal, so they had to give me my own router -- bit odd they didn't do this […] when I first arrived, so apparently not everyone on staff is aware of this, but it was fixed promptly). Cool location too -- about 10 minutes to the top of Mount Royal up the stairs. Enjoyed my stay quite a bit. Hurrah! Lesa meira

Unfortunaly this time I found a couple of problems. Front door was very difficult to open (from inside and outside the room) The locks were not lined up properly therefore making it difficult for the doors to open easily; this is also a safety issue in case of a fire. The inside doors to the bedroom area constantly squeaded which was very erie to hear […] in the middle of the night. Lesa meira
