Flott hótel í gömlu húsi en full hljóðbært á milli herbergja. Var með herbergi út að götu og það er slatta traffík þarna hjá allan sólarhringinn. Einnig fór gesturinn í herberginu fyrir ofan okkur að færa til hús gögn kl. 5 um morguninn.

Hótelið er í góðu umhverfi og starfsfólk mjög vinalegt. Rétt handan við hornið eru sporvagnarnir bæði gömlu sem fara upp brekkurnar og í gegnum ítalska og kínahverfið og endar á Market þar sem allar verslanirnar eru. Nýju sporvagnarnir þeir fara meðfram bryggjunum og sjávarsíðunni og hægt er að taka þá eða labba að bryggju 35 að mig minnir þar sem ferjan til Alcatrez er. Eina sem hefði fullkomnað þessa hóteldvöl var ef það hefði verið þráðlaust net upp í herberginu. En það er eingöngu í andyrinu. Mun klárlega gista aftur á þessu hóteli í framtíðinni þegar farið verður aftur til San Francisco

"Very accomidating staff, small room"
Very decent hotel for the price. It was very close to Union square which was great. Our room did have some city noise but that is to be expected. We live in NYC and the SF noise was very quiet in comparison. The sound of the cable cars was actually nice. room was very clean, and staff was very helpful. However, room was tiny. we knew this going in […] so we were prepared. having the ironing board out made it difficult for my wife to move around me and not get burned. bathroom was very small. it was probably 4' x 6'. Much smaller than a standard 5' x 7' NYC bathroom. also they do not serve food. however, they had a nice bar in the back. there was a hotel 3 doors down called Hotel Rex that had 2 nice bicycles in the window for their guests. that sounds nice! "Great Service!"
This is an older hotel, so the rooms didn't quite block out the noise from the street. The cable cars ran right by the hotel, so it was pretty noisy during the day, but quieted a little at night. The rooms were small...and the bathroom was TINY! However, they did provide many ammenities like a quality razor (I really appreciated this because I did […] not check my luggage, so I wasn't able to bring a razor with me), complimentary coffee (in the room and downstairs) and great toiletries. They also participate in the Green Hotels program and offered bonuses for not using housekeeping services everyday. Additionally, the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. "Not enough bathroom for the price"
We registered into the Hotel on a SAT for my conference at the Westin Hotel. We were immediately unhappy with the size of the bathroom. It was very difficult to manever and could be dangerous as there is not a lot of floor space. THe closet was bigger than the bathroom. You could use the toilet and wash your face at the same time. THe room was very […] stuffy and muggy. THe hair dryer did not work. Parking for the Larkspur Hotel is around the corner on Post street at a City parking Garage, so be prepared to walk with your luggage back to the hotel. THe pictures on the Larkspur Hotel website are nothing like the actual rooms. THe pictures must have been taken at another Hotel. I will not stay here again. Lesa meira

"Overcharged jail cell"
I was charged for some crazy reason an inordinate amount of money for a 12'x12' room which was smaller than my bedroom at home.The view was a wall with plastic flowers on it. .i complained to the desk and was told that they don't honor special request so I told her that when Hotels.com sent me a email confirmation the description said "city views"and […] a wall was not city views.The room was clean but when you can't even walk on one side of the bed the room is not worth what I paid . "Great location, tiny but cozy room"
Very great location, but as with most boutique hotels, you have to keep in mind the rooms will be tiny. Rooms and architecture are old but cozy. Convenient for younger couples looking for a modest room in a great location.

our room was small and dirty! i live in nyc so i'm used to tight spaces but our room and bathroom was uncomfortably small. the bathtub was also very dirty with stains on the shower curtain. i would never stay here again.

"Larkspur Hotel near Union Square in San Francisco"
This hotel is quaint, and clean, however, be aware, it is a period building, from about 1906 era. This means that it doesn't have A/C, and you're left to open the windows for ventilation. "Larkspur Hotel Union Square Perfect Pick!"
The Larkspur Hotel Union Square (SFO) was perfect in many ways ... location, comfort, and hospitality. At the Front Desk was Tia and Lillian ... both extremely lovely and made you feel 'at home' and comfortable. I researched for over a month for my trip and the ideal spot to stay ... "Great location"
Our hotel was within one block of Union Square, near Sears Fine Food Restaurant. We rented a total of three rooms. The beds were very comfortable and we loved the feather pillows. Everything was clean; the doorman Kevin recommended a limo service for us and we were very pleased all around with our stay.

Front office was a little scattered and unprepared. Sat in the lobby and quoted rates to people were all over the board.
"small but comfortable"
SF is an expensive city to visit. This hotel gave us a less expensive room than other hotels offered, but it was small. I'd go again but with lower expectations of a room I could do anything else in but sleep.

"The larkspur hotel, San Francisco"
Decent small hotel, close to Union Square, Chinatown and about 25 - 30 minute walk to Fishermans Wharf. An error on behalf of hotels.com regarding number of beds was rectified by the helpful man at front desk with no extra charge. Friendly staff all-round.
The room was too small for the price. Have stayed in a number of the hotels in immediate neighborhood, and it does not compare well. It simply does not have comparable amenities, and yet it cost appreciably more than we have paid in the past.

I was in town for business and this hotel was literally about 50 ft from where I needed to be. It's only a short walk from the Powell BART station and is also fully served by the MUNI. The staff were entertaining and courteous. Great, great experience!

It's position was excellent and that was its only plus. Reception staff were just about average. Bar staff were very rude.

Very clean and comfortable hotel, in a really convenient location (close to shops, transportation, China Town). The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our bathroom was a little on the small size, with not much room to move, but overall we were very happy with the room. Bed was comfy. No air-con, but we kept the window open a little and had the ceiling […] fan on during the night and that was sufficient (we were there late July). "Overall met exceptations.. a couple drawbacks"
Couple drawbacks: (1) Absolutely no cell phone reception w/in the room. All phone calls had to be made in the lobby and/or curbside outside of the hotel. A minor inconvenience, albeit luckily, my room was only on the 2nd floor, (2) in the room, there was a 6"-8" step that led to the bathroom, presenting a tripping hazard. "Wonderful Surprise in the City"
We were running late to a wedding and didn't have a lot of time to check in, they took care of everything for us. When we came back from the wedding our bags were in our room, we had a wonderful two room suite with a full view of Union Square a comfy living room area and a huge marble bathroom. I love the fact that they had soft clean robes in the closet […] for us and tow flat screen tvs to enjoy. The bed and the pillows were the best part made it easy to relax after a hectic day and sleep like a baby. Only one slight problem a bit of street noise but hey it is San Francisco. Lesa meira

The staff at this hotel was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice, but lacked newer ammenities such as an A/C. The location was central to everything and the price was hard to beat in SF. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel to friends.

Located in Union Square. Clean area, up scaleshops & restaraunts. Service was excellent. Older hotel, but upgraded & new, w/ still that old fasion feel. Loved the wine bar & comfortable relaxing lounge. Really enjoyed my stay.
"What a gem"
I have been staying at this location since 1973 when it was The Cartwright Hotel. This newest incarnation is lovely. The decor is tasteful and cozy . The staff was friendly, approachable and efficient. The location can't be beat if you are looking for an urban experience. I am often in the Bay area and will definitely be back to the Larkspur.
Great location close to everything walking distance to major attracctions and tansportation, great staff. Noisy at night, when the city is picking the garbage.

"Excellent Customer Service"
I had a very pleasant stay at this Hotel and the Front Desk attendat was just Amazing. She was very personable which I have never had at any hotel I stayed at even 4 stars I have never got the attention she gave me. When I checked out I forgot to tell the garage not to punch me out and unfortuanltey they did. She called them up and asked for them to […] let me back in and not charge me once again. I enjoyed our stay at this quaint hotel. I found the reviews accurate in terms of room size and service quality. The room was small but more than adequate for the two of us. Unless you plan on spending your trip in the hotel room, it really isn't that bad. The hotel staff was personable and gracious. They made my daughter feel welcomed & entertained. […] She left saying this is her favorite hotel & can't wait to go back. My only criticism is the thin walls and the voices that seem to be right next to you. Our "neighbors" were up rather early so therefore we were too. I would recommend that the hotel offer complimentary earplugs or pack your own. But all in all I was pleasantly surprised, more than satisfied with the staff & happy with the convenient location (close to Union Square, China Town and the cable car line.) "Highly recommend"
This is an excellent hotel - a good price and a central location. The staff is extremely helpful, very couteous and dedicated to doing all they can do to make their guests comfortable. They're also provide guidance about SF and how to find places and things to do. All in all, a terrific experience.
"Noise is a problem if you are a light sleeper."
Knowing that the hotel faces a major street that can be quite noisy, we asked for a room away from that side, and were given such a room. However, even on the back side of the hotel, there was substantial noise from compressors for air conditioners from other rooms and/or the adjacent building, which made sleeping difficult. (I lived in that area of […] SF in the past, so I am quite aware of normal noise levels in the city and have been able to deal with them in the past. I say this to note that the noise level in the hotel room was thus really quite high, even for an experienced city-dweller.) Otherwise, if you have a very high tolerance for noise and can sleep through it easily, the Larkspur is fine. The location is excellent and puts you near to many of the best things the city has to offer. The room, though small, was not cramped. The only other shortcoming of the hotel was that housekeeping was not very efficient and did not make up our room until very late in the day, which caused us some inconvenience. Lesa meira

Small but clean and comfortable room for 1 person. Friendly and helpful staff. Good location--touristy, with city tours departing from nearby Union Square and central with lots of easy bus, train and street car connections. I would stay there again.

The Staff and their service was great in every way. We felt very at home there. It is an older hotel and the rooms are not large, but comfortable and well laid out.
