My daughter and I stayed at the Residence Inn downtown Montreal and had a good experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and nice. The location was perfect for all that we had planned. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star rating is because the beds were just awful. They seemed old, hard and just plain uncomfortable. The room allotted to us was very small, congested and not the least impressive. We had to run around for parking, amidst bone-chilling cold. The receptionist was cold and unsympathetic with regard to our complaints on parking and room amenities. The room itself was in a messy condition with facial tissues empty in the box, bathroom supplies not replenished […] and when we took up the matter with the front desk, an uncomprehending janitor who professed not to understand English was dispatched. He fumbled and struggled through our requests and then phoned the front desk back that he could not understand us! As for the parking, the hotel parking is under renovation and that status is published nowhere on the hotels.com site, which was very misleading and hard for us. Furthermore, it was an even greater hassle to park in front of the hotel to complete check in formalities as the whole lane was full of vehicles parked. The front desk did not care to provide any really helpful directions on finding parking to us, who were newcomers to the city. In short, we will never recommend this hotel to anyone at all. Very good location (heart of downtown Montreal) with easy access to the Metro/Subway. Continental breakfast made the stay more enjoyable. Room was large but bed was a bit uncomfortable and elevators were extremely slow.

This is superbly well located hotel in the middle of Montreal's shopping district. The room was comfortable and clean but small with two double beds and a pullout couch. Mattresses were not so comfortable. Queen-size beds would be preferable. Breakfast in the overcrowded dining area was very stressful. I stayed one night on the way to Quebec City. I had a small Maltease dog. This is pet allowed hotel and hotel policy showed that $100 deposit is needed for a pet. But which means, this hotel purchase $100+tax just for a dog for one night on the tpo of hotel room rate. That was a kind of shock and my feeing was like cheated by! Our room was in good condition and clean. The breakfast was excellent. The location is great. The only thing, we have to park in another area as the hotel parking was full.

This is obviously an older building and the rooms are in serious need of updating. No parking available at the time due to construction. Small windows, stale odour. Very, very small bathroom. On the plus side, the kitchenette was appreciated, as well as the small dining room area. Overall a little expensive for what you get.

Love the kitchen, central to metro, convenience stores bixi stations. Just far enough away from Cresent so no noise. The balcony on 23 is a nice place to hang out.

it was ok. I really apreciated them making me a breakfast box because i left really early morning 5am. i didnt like the bathroom which didnt have any room to walk or even open the door properly.

The only trouble I had was getting the hotel key to work properly. However, the management re-keyed it successfully. The hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant.

This hotel is in the perfect location for the F1 weekend. The events are going on just south right on peel, and not far over on crescent. Everything is close as well as metro right at corner.The hotel staff and hotel itself was clean pleasant and professional, breakfast offered a wide variety. Top Tier all the way. Only missing thing is a pool.

I decided on this hotel based on the many favorable reviews since this was my first trip to Montreal. Hotel conveniently located in downtown, staff was very friendly and helpful, Metro rail station right around the corner, bank to exchange money is a couple doors down the street, and they have free breakfast buffet in the morning. After a few days, […] you may get tired of the breakfast buffet, but it wasn't bad. Another plus is that they have a mini kitchen with sink, electric range, microwave, and refrigerator in the room if you want to bring back food and eat in the room. There is a convenience store about a block away if you want to pick up small food items and/or drinks. Didn't notice much noise from the street. Free wifi is decent, but the system logs you out automatically after a few hours. Bandwidth is not enough to video call for business Lesa meira

Hotel is in a great location. Free breakfast was okay but when we were there it was a zoo and not appealing. Biggest complaint for us and another couple was the noise! The walls, ceilings and floors are paper thin! I could hear other guests alarms go off. You could hear water flowing in the pipes. Tons of noise from trucks outside at 3am, 5am, etc. […] The fridge in the room is really loud too. Every night we slept with pillows on top of our heads to try and block out the noise. Very helpful staff which does not complain or make excuses. They solve problems quickly. Breakfast is good, some snacks couple of evenings.Only drawback is structural which is very very small bathroom. But housekeeping is good with appropriate service. A typical 3 star hotel. Clean and nice. My only issue would be the washroom. It was way too small. I don't think even 2 people could stand inside comfortably. But not everything can be perfect for the price your paying. Staff were ok, they seem biased to their clients. However, for the deal, I would definitely stay there again.

This hotel has all the basic conveniences I would hope for, including a small kitchenette, free wifi, a great location, and even a pull out couch. This was my second stay here and I have absolutely no complaints. It can fit four adults comfortably and at a very reasonable price.

I've stayed at this hotel 4 times, and it always impresses. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable; the complimentary breakfast is quite ample; and the front desk staff is very helpful. The location is perfect ... just blocks from McGill University, great shopping and dining, and walking distance from Old Town Montreal.

It seemed like the pet fee was a bit high at dollars, I was overcharged me on my credit card even though my bf paid for the hotel and the extra charges. We were charged for 2 nights of parking that we didn't use and basically wasn't happy with my first weekend in Montreal. I was a bit disappointed luckily my bf made the best of it. I stayed at this hotel last December... and again just last weekend. The staff are very courteous and helpful. The hotel is a tad on the old side-but comfort and cleanliness were not a problem. The bedrooms are quite large and there is a kitchenette... the continental breakfast and location are added bonuses!

This hotel is close to shopping, museums, entertainment, restuarants SAQ i.e. Quebec liquor beer store. We found it very easy to get to from the train station (we walked). The check in staff were very nice. The hotel also offered a luggage service so that we could check out and leave the luggage with the hotel until we were ready to walk back to the […] train station for our departure train. Only down side; street noise late into the night in rooms facing the street . We were on the 16th floor and could still hear the party going on in the bar across the street (alot of the bars have open patio areas that spill out into the sidewalk). This was my second time staying here. First time was with my family in December '07. Stayed this time with my boyfriend in July for 4 nights, 5 days and was just as impressed as the first time. We arrived around 11 on a Wednesday morning and luckily after a full morning of flying our room was available. It just got better from there. Staff are so genuine […] friendly and helpful. I only wish I could write more things about this place! The only con would be that although the free hot breakfast was great -- maybe extend the hours for those of us who like to sleep in a little on holidays. Not that I wanted to sleep my time away, but it would have been great to not get up at 730-8 to beat the crowd. So impressed, and the significant other was too! (and its hard to please him!) This hotel was awesome. A couple of downsides, make sure if you book to ask for the back of the hotel. There is this restaurant/bar that is extremely loud at night. We had to change rooms to the back, but that was without any hassle. The staff were great in accomodating. The other problem, I paid extra for a breakfast package, well the breakfast room […] was so packed I was unable to get in to get breakfast and had to eat out every morning anyways, so don't want your money on it. Not as good as I expected, given the other reviews that I had read. One day, the maid showed up after 5pm to clean our room!! Breakfast was very good but the room is quite noisy and very busy. Not exactly a slow way to wake up! Service people at the desk and in the breakfast room are very effective.
