Crowne Plaza Hotel Houston near Reliant - Medical – Houston

The room was clean and beds were comfy but if your looking for a nice hotel experience try somewhere else. This is more like a cheap hotel with a "Crowne Plaza" label. It's got the right label but it's like staying at a cheap motel with upgraded linens. It smelled so bad in the building where our room was. I'm glad the room was clean and comfortable […] but if your gonna call yourself Crowne Plaza then at least measure up to the standards. If I had paid less than $80 a night I would be like okay it's decent enough for the money, but when you pay $150 plus a night you expect a little more for the price (I'm not saying 5 star either). And to think that they actually charge over $250 a night to stay in that place luckily for us we got a "special" I would be very disappointed had we paid full price. We were better off staying at La Quinta which by the way I have had very nice experiences with them. Again the cleanliness of the room was great but the price was too high for what you actually got.... and No fridge or microwave either. Lesa meira

The description that we saw when we booked said balcony, cd player and some other amenities the hotel room did not offer. It was a bit misleading.

I hate to say it, but Hotels.com should remove this hotel from their offerings as I think it does more damage than good for people to stay here. My first experience was the toilet overflowing when I blew my nose and threw one tissue in there. Then, when taking a shower, a pool of water formed all over the bathroom floor. Housekeeping did not replenish […] towels (or the coffee which was annoying). I called front desk to ask if they would deliver a coffee for me to brew, I waited 30 minutes and nothing, called them back and they said I had to call housekeeping myself... Why they couldn't do it for me is a mystery. The hotel restaurant/bar staff was awful. Never behind the bar, waited 15 minutes to be served EVERY time, food was mediocre quality at best. Place was a dump. It was dirty. Patio doors didn't open(were sealed shut). The tv was a tube tv. For the price you pay the place was way too ran down. The service is slim to none.

The hotel was decent but was the closest to our destination at Reliant Stadium. The service was week and check in was slow even though I had already set everything up and paid for it on line. The biggest complaint I have was finding water anywhere in the hotel. The hotel store was closed our entire stay, the entire hotel had 1 vending machine that took […] 20 minutes to walk to after finally finding hotel staff and asking where a vending machine was located. The vending machine only had 1 type of soda becasue everything was sold out, the vending machine did not have a water option. I would not stay nor would I recommend staying at this particular hotel just for the simple fact that it does not have any convient options for a simple drink of water. While walking from the vending machine I witnessed several others looking for a water fountain or the closest store they could walk to for water. Lesa meira

This is the second time that I have stayed at this hotel. Both times, I have waited in line to check-in 45 minutes + to check-in. I understand both times were for a concert at Reliant, but I feel like the hotel could be better prepared. Second, my room was good for the most part, but the hotel is older. The location and room comfort was good HOWEVER the service at the cafe, bar, and general management was very bad, bad, bad. As one of the closest major hotels you would think they would prepare for Relient events....think again. I am drafting a letter to the corporate office of my visit, it did not represent Marriott's image.

Over an hour to check in. Rooms smalk for price. Food average for room service but expensive. Managed poorly in my opinion and front staff needs to be trained in efficient service on busy days. We have never experienced such horrible customer service. During an obviously sold out time there were only 3 people working the front desk. In line with about 40 ppl. to check in took us an hour. Then we are told our room isn't ready! It's 3:00 p.m., we just waited in line an hour. They were very rude didn't not try to accommodate us in any way. We […] were told to come back in 30 min. then they just walked away and turned to the next ppl. in line. By the way we didn't have any special request for a room. beds seemed smaller than normal in a double room. The elevators were ele are ancient & small so getting luggage for our family's week long stay was near impossible. The hotel was full & busy so the elevators could not keep up. The staff even stood waiting forever for elevators. The Hotel room I stayed in was disgusting the bath tub had a ring around it. The carpet in the room looked like its hadn't been vacummed since it was installed.. It had a smell that you will never forget. Trust me it was the worst I have ever stayed in before. It was so not worth $ It cost. Never again!!

Room was very good. Only complaint was the elevator closest to the room was acting up. Got on the elevator and doors would not close. I thought we would have to walk up four flights of stairs after all day doctor appointments. Lucikily there was a second elevator at the opposite end of the hotel.

A/C did not work in room. Would come and tell me I had to keep it on 65 for it to get cold. It would stay cold for about 4 hours and then go hot again. I would have to call them again. Service sucked. Shuttle only runs Mon - thurs which when I called before checking in was told it ran all the time.

Pretty bad when you get the manager about one of the staff in the parking lot using the F word towards you in regards to parking. The manager comes out with me to the parking lot and he says Im sorry but its the owner of the property. For which the owner from a different country says which language do you not understand the F word and several other […] choice words. I plan on e-mailing the Crown Plaza Main Office about it. Perhaps it was the All-Star Weekend festivities, but the visitors that I booked into this hotel were anxious not to stay there. They left–in one instance moving to a hotel in Sugarland, Texas (a suburb and quite a hike into Houston) to avoid sleeping there The hotel was dirty–smelled of mold and mildew. It was embarrassing. After check in we had to hike about three miles to our room, to discover the toilet was broken. Also, the parking was a disaster. I had a room for four people but could only get one parking pass and was charged $30 for each additional pass. Down the halls were stained with a kool aid red look. Was placed in old part of hotel, horrible stench, toilet not working, nasty carpet, hard bed. No valet, had to park long distance from front of hotel & carry luggage unassisted! Requested to be moved to another room, staff was accommodating & kind. I'm in Houston every two months, will not stay at this hotel again, DO NOT RECOMEND!

Not what we expected at all when we arrived. Looks amazing from the outside. The inside was horrible. There was a tray of old food outside our room and it stayed there until we left. It was gross. I had my baby with us and I couldn't believe how nasty it was. Will never go back!!!!!

When we first got there they put us in a room that looked like a roach motel. After asking to speak to a manager they finally put us in a handicap room. I would never go there again and will never recommend anyone else to.

Good location. Hotel has two buildings - one is upscaled, the other is older and in poor condition. Unfortunately I arrived at very busy time when hotel was fully occupied. They gave me room in the old section that was poorly maintained, smelly and noisy at night. It was OK stay, but I will not look forward to stay there again.

We booked this hotel and thought it would be nice as shown in the pictures, clean and etc.. Well to our surprise NO!! We had an outside room dirty in and out Carpet coming off an old air conditioner definetally not what we had booked or seen in pics very dissapointing !! Also carpet pieces outside the room!

I chose this place because of the location and it's a Crowne Plaza. It's the worst Crowne Plaza I've stayed in. It's run down and needs lot of updates.

We frequently attend Texans games and stay here strictly for convenience sake of the game. Each time we have experienced poor service. This past stay NO hot water. Bar is small and they only have two staffing bar on game day. Limited food menu. If you are staying in the towers be prepared for either hiking up steps with your luggage or hunting the out […] of sight and stuffy elevator also outside but under covered area. We went to a football game at reliant stadium. We chose this hotel because of it's close proximity to the stadium. The room was very small and cramped as was the bathroom. The ac barely worked and made a horrific racket. The beds were full size but the sheets didn't fit, they were too small. The rooms were nice, the location (right across the street from Reliant Stadium) was perfect for going to a football game. The only frustrating part of our stay was the elevators. They have 4, but it seemed like only 1 was working and open to customer use.
