"Centrally located and comfortable"
I was very pleased with my stay here at the Silken. The staff was very accommodating and the rooms were nice, though quite small for US standards. Walking distance from the Fine Arts museum and the Guggenheim, there isn't a lot of need for taxis or public transportation. The neighborhood is safe, but offers nothing for the tourist thirsty for sights. […] The hotel itself is very nice, but for the cost, there are some areas that could use improvement. The staff at reception offered advice as to places to eat, but didn't know the name nor the exact location of one restaurant! The hotel boasts having a menu of different types of pillows, but after waiting 20 minutes for the cervical pillow I ordered, the staff person returned with one of the same type of pillows already on the bed. Later, someone called to admit that that location didn't offer different types of pillows. The hotel apparently had two wings. My friend and I were on the wing facing the city, the side without a view. So, I cannot comment on the conditions of the rooms of the other side, but I wonder if the rooms would be as cramped. Our room had two beds side-by-side and very little other furniture but was extremely cramped with two of us and our luggage. I had requested separate beds and there was, in theory, a crack between the beds. In the US I would've rejected this room. The hotel was spotless and quiet. The lobby shiny and fancy-looking. I enjoyed my stay and it more than met my needs, but it missed the mark on some elements to get 5 stars from me. Lesa meira

"Silken Indautxu Hotel, Bilbao"
We are a couple in our early sixties. We found this hotel to be ideal for our needs for a short break in Bilbao. It is a 15 minute stroll to the guggenheim Museum, through safe streets. There is much to see in the immediate area of the hotel. It is a ten minute walk to the bus station, from where you can take a bus to San Sebastian, Guernica and other […] places of interest. The staff in the hotel could not have been more helpful. The buffet breakfast is excellent and the hotel's restaurant provides seriously good meals. Lesa meira
"Hotel Indautxu - an oasis in the centre of Bilbao"
This was our first time visit and it took a day or two for us to get our bearings. The hotel itself is a peaceful oasis in the middle of a bustling city and the staff were courteous, knowledgable and our requests were always met with a smile. We were bed and breakfast and the food could not be faulted. Don't expect a "full English" but the food is […] plentiful and extremely varied. We will most definitely be going back there in the future. When travelling into town for 1.35 Euro on the bus from the airport, get off at Plaza Moyua (Carlton Hotel) and you are no more than a 5 minute walk from the hotel. For travel around town and out to Portugalete (well worth a visit for it's culture, tapas bars and resturants) buy a Creditrans ticket for 5, 10 or 15 Euro and this allows you to hop from Metro to bus to tram ,,, all of these classed as one journey if completed in 1hr 15m. we stayed at the hotel for one night. Our bed was comfortable and the bathroom had everything. It was near town centre and close to the bus terminus. Staff were plesant and very helpful
"Good hotel in great city"
In general the Silken is a pretty good hotel, which feels pretty luxurious. On arrival the lobby is bright and well cooled which is great to get into out of the street. The bar at the hotel is pretty good too- its small but has everything you need and the barman there is friendly and the service is very good. My room was'nt huge but was easily big […] enough for our needs and was well equipped and very comfortable- the only complaint I would have is that the walls between neighbouring rooms seem pretty thin and so TV noise, people coming in late at night etc travels easily between the bedrooms although it's not a major issue. Location wise its pretty good too- close to cafe's and bars, some other venues like the alhondiga and a metro station at indatxu from where you can travel all round the city and beyond. Its about 10-15 mins easy stroll into the old town, which worked out about perfect for us as it gave all the pintxos we'd gorged out on in the old town a chance to settle before we reached the hotel and there are plenty of bars and food places on the way back in case you feel like night-cap before you settle in for the night. This is a lovely hotel and within walking distance of the main tourist sites. Be aware if driving to hotel as the garage is very hard to get to until you know the secret of the one way system. Just pull up on the roundabout (everyone parks anywhere!!) and go to reception. They have ready prepared maps.

Clean room but condition of the hotel needs some renovation. Breakfast room really nicely set up and served. Handy central location; internet available.

Muy bien situado, en el centro de Bilbao, cercano a todos los puntos de interés, cómodo. Excelente restaurante, magnífico trato. Garage un poco escaso y con algunas plazas de difícil acceso.

This Silken hotel is a nice choice when you are visiting Bilbao although it is few hundred meters walking distance from the best shopping streets and older part of town. The hotel is clean and well maintained. The bed was quite soft. Note that when you are booking the room, the breakfast is not automatically included in the price. Estuvimos muy a gusto en el hotel y la atención que nos brindaron fue muy buena. Por encima de nuestras expectativas.

Zeer tevreden. Lag voor ons in een goede buurt (dicht bij woonst schoondochter) Een koffiezet of waterkoker zou wel leuk geweest zijn. Badkamer werd niet altijd even netjes gekuist. Hotelpersoneel zeer vriendelijk. Ontbijtbuffet uitgebreid en verzorgd.
El bater perdía agua, no nos hicieron caso al decir que lo arreglasen. En la reserva pedimos cama de matrimonio y nos tuvimos que confotmar con dos camas indibiduales. Lo mejor del hotel es su situacion, desde donde pudimos acceder a todos los lugares de interes turistico a pie.

Habíamos leído en los comentarios que se formaban colas en recepción para abandonar el hotel sin embargo creimos que se trataría de puntualidades. Pues bien, la cola fue de más de media hora y no exagero si digo que conté 21 personas esperando. Otro inconveniente a tener muy en cuenta es que este hotel suele ofrecer banquetes de boda. Dormimos en él, […] o intentamos hacerlo, la noche de un sábado a domingo. El ruido tanto de música o voces proveniente de los salones parecía venir de la habitación contigua (y eso que estabamos alojados en la primera planta). Por el resto estamos muy contentos. Ótimo hotel, bem localizado, confortável. O melhor de tudo é o restaurante. Comida muito boa, serviço profissional e gentil a preço muito razoável.

Bra service, hotellets anställda var trevliga och hjälpsamma och det var bara en i personalen som vi kom i kontakt med som inte talade engelska. Gratis wifi var ett stort plus eftersom vi då kunde hitta information och tips som vår guidebok saknade. Lugnt läge och vi stördes inte kvälls/nattetid av trafik eller liknande. Dagtid var det en del oljud […] från vägarbetet precis nedanför, men så länge fönstret var stängt upplevde vi inte det som störande. Rumsservicen var helt ok, maten var god men inget märkvärdigt. Staden och stämningen var helt oslagbar, vi kommer definitivt att återvända hit! Lesa meira

Petit déjeuner copieux et avec de bon produit. Tout l'hôtel n'est pas rafraichit mais à part cela, le service est très bon. Et l'hotel est calme. Bon rapport qualité/prix

Snyggt, bra, bekvämt, praktiskt, rent, trevligt och bra läge. Ett stort plus för att de talar flera språk vilket inte är vanligt i Baskien.
"Desilusão"
O quarto de hotel nada tinha a ver a com o apresentado na internet. Além de muito pequeno, não tinha écran de televisão plasma nem secaor de cabelo. Além disso, ficava na zona de fumadores, quando não foi isso que solicitei. Ficava perto dos elevadores ouvindo-se barulho dos mesmos durante a noite.
