Umsögn frá gesti Hotels.com á 16. feb. 2013The room itself was quite comfortable, however there were no necessities such as hair condition, toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving tools etc. Furthermore, the food at the hotel, which was very expensive, was as followed: the salmon for a starter was at a very low grade and the beef was very thin and overcooked. At last it should be mention that one should double-check information given at the reception, we were twice given insufficient and/or wrong information.

Morgunmaturinn var mjög góður og er morgunverðarsalurinn með fallegu útsýni af 6.hæð. Stutt í næsta U-Bahn. Frábært víetnamskt veitingahús í nágrenni hótelsins. Gaman að rölta um Wilmerdorferstrasse, þar eru fullt af búðum og fínum veitingastöðum. Vorum að heimsækja Berlín í tuttugasta skipti... Berlín er auðvitað bara æði !!

We were given a room that had floorboards that had just been lacquered and the room smelt horrible, but when we asked to be moved a new room was given straight away. Breakfast was fantastic, staff were professional and the selection of food was great. We could walk to all if the major attractions, except for the eastside gallery and a u Bahn station […] is at the door. "excellent location.Most sites within easy walking"
Hotel was very comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly and informative. The breakfasts were excellent, a very good choice for everyone. We thought the drinks were on the expensive side. The only downsides which need to be changed at this hotel are: Breakfast should be included in the rate and when the hotel has conferences they should NOT allow those conference personnel spill onto the upper lobby floor and make noise; they should be confined to conference rooms. "brilliant hotel and location"
Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed and as we arrived at 11am (check in was at 2), the hotel offered to keep hold of our luggage and they requested our room to be cleaned earlier so that it would instead be ready for midday. This was a very nice gesture. The lobby is very big and spacious, with a bar, a convenience type shop, lounge area and computers […] to use the Internet. There was a no fuss check in which I liked, especially after the stress of travelling. When we later arrived in the room, it was very cosy and clean. Bathroom was nice and modern. As it was my boyfriends birthday, the hotel had left a bottle of champagne and a small chocolate cake in our room. Another wonderful gesture. Minibar was stocked well but a bit too expensive for us. We didn't have a room facing the garden market but this didn't bother us too much. The garden market faces the hotel and is a beautiful sight. It's surrounded by a fair choice of restaurants and bars. Didn't see any other hotel in a better surrounding. There is a underground station right outside the hotel and checkpoint Charlie is just up the road and Brandenburg gate was only 10mins walk. "Fantastic stay"
After several weeks touring Europe we decided to splurge and upgrade to a corner suite. Lavish room, with separate bathroom, lounge, and bedroom. Very well appointed. The Executive Lounge access was appreciated. The included breakfast buffet was underwhelming. My biggest gripe is with the wifi access - in this day and age it is unacceptable for this […] to be a charged extra. Every other hotel we've stayed in, down to the tiniest, has included wifi in the room free of charge. Despite this being a lovely hotel I would probably consider somewhere else next time. "Great hotel, superb location."
I surprised my husband with a five night break over new year in Berlin. We weren't disappointed! The hotel is perfectly situated in the city for all the sights. We were able to walk everywhere easily and there are plenty of fantastic coffee shops to keep you going. I booked room only as breakfast is 30 euros per head. We indulged on New Year's Day and […] I have to say, the breakfast buffet is simply phenomenal but feel it could be overwhelming should you have it every day. You can pick up a latte and croissant for under 5 euros at Einstein Kaffee literally across the road from the hotel for those looking for a more cost effective and manageable breakfast!! "Great Location."
The location is excellent. We did not specify 'a non smoking' room when booking as we didn't realise this was necessary and were given a smelly smoking room. After a long journey we couldn't be bothered to move. We went for a swim and were dissapointed to learn there was an extra charge to use the sauna. After having a bath, when I emptied the water […] it came up through the drain on the bathroom floor and flooded the bathroom. "City Centre Hotel"
Although we had a smoker's room on the first night and a double bed instead of the requested twin beds which I had requested through expedia as well as by email to the Hilton direct, everything was sorted the following day for the remaining 8 nights. "Great location, in the centre of everything"
Hotel is in a fantastic location, it is in the centre of everything. We travelled at Christmas time and the hotel is opposite one of the larger outdoor markets Berlin is famous for. The staff offered assistance when needed, and as our German was limited - were able to ensure we received what was intended. "fantastic experience"
From start to finish our stay at the Hilton was fantastic. All the staff from reception, bar, waiters and housekeeping, were polite and friendly and happy to help. Stayed a couple of nights here for our Xmas ( xmas market) vacation and was over all happy with it. Location was good as its right in front of the gender market (sp) and a underground station which made it ideal for getting around. "Friendly staff and a great location"
Friendly staff and always helpful, particularly the bar and breakfast waiting staff. Great location and facilities. We were given a quiet room, as we'd asked for. "Luxurious hotel in great central loction"
We can't fault this hotel - well run, very comfortable, extremely helpful staff and in a wonderful central location. The lobby is vast but manages to feel welcoming and relaxing, with a pianist tinkling the ivories in the cocktail lounge on 2 of the 3 evenings we were there, and a huge open (pretend) fire. Very sophisticated! The rooms (not huge but […] quite adequate) are decorated in muted cream and brown colours and very clean, and the bathroom was excellent - lots of hot water and good toiletries. It was probably the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept on, quite firm with a lovely mattress topper. There was a huge choice of delicious food for breakfast, including wonderful breads and freshly made omelettes and fried eggs. The view of the square from the first floor breakfast room is lovely as there are 2 Dom (cathedrals) in the square - all very magical when it snowed during breakfast one morning! The little pool is great for easing the end-of-the-afternoon aches and robes and towels are provided. We didn't realise before we booked, but the hotel is right by the best Christmas market in Berlin (Gendarmenmarkt). Fantastic for our December girlie shopping trip! "What should be excellent is only satisfactory..."
This hotel is very well located and is physically pleasing. However I have stayed here a few times over recent years and seem to have some kind of bad karma with this place. I get smoking rooms when not requested, rooms on the north-east corner where the night club downstairs doofs away into the night and rooms with unpleasant odours. When they were […] renovating a couple of years back I was right below the buidling works. I have requested more room changes in this place than any other hotel I can recall. The hotel is very well located on a lovely square. It is a great base for walking to key points of interest but there is also a UBahn station right outside as well as a taxi rank. "Wonderful hotel in excellent central location"
My wife and I had a wonderful weekend in the Berlin Hilton. We were spending the weekend in Berlin to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. When we informed the hotel of this prior to our arrival, they said they would arrange a nice surprise for us. Not only did they upgrade us to a room with a view of the Deutsche Dom and the pretty Gendarmenmarkt […] square, but also gave us a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine and some chocolate coated strawberries. The staff were always very professional and friendly, the room was very clean and comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was excellent and comprehensive. The location of this hotel for a tourist visitor (and I'd imagine for a businessperson) is pretty much perfect. A lot of the major tourist attractions of Berlin are within walking distance, it's right beside Stadmitte ubahn station, is adjacent to the main shopping thoroughfare of Freidrichstrasse, and Gendarmenmarkt itself is surrounded by several nice Restaurants and bars.
