"Sennilega var ekki búið að finna upp einangrunina."
Metið af Johannes J frá "Seltjarnarnes, Iceland" þann 25. jún. 2011Mjög gott hótel á góðum stað. Herbergin björt og hrein. Svolítið hissa að það var enginn stóll til staðar. Einangrum milli herbergja og hæða er hinsvegar algjör hörmung. Hvert fótspor á hæðinni fyrir ofan glumdi niður til okkar (fer væntanlega mikið eftir skóbúnaði þess sem þar dvelur). Einnig heyrist of mikið á milli herberga og líka fyrir utan herbergið. Við vorum óheppin þar sem það voru einvherjir á fylleríi með tilheyrandi hávaða og látum. Sorglegt þar sem hótelið' er sjálft mjög fínt og staðsetningin virkilega góð. ég mæli því með þessu fyrir hvern þann sem er tilbúinn að taka sjénsinn á því hverjir nágrannar hans verða.

The Hotel Monaco is beautifully appointed, from the rooms to the garage. The room was very large and comfy. It's location is perfect for walking to great restaurants and shops. Was here with two friends for three nights and had a very nice stay - room was comfortable as Monaco's usually are and staff helpful. Pets are welcome and they even gave us a goldfish for our stay. "not a 4 star experience"
The hotel was just okay as was the service. Only saw the concierge once which stunk cuz we had questions. The rest of the staff seemed indifferent to offering suggestions, etc. Our bedspread was covered in hair when we checked in but at least they cleaned it up quick. "Loved the bikes, hated the pillows."
The Hotel Monaco was great. Easy to get to all the parts of the city we wanted to, especially because they have bikes to borrow. Our only complaint is that the pillows are kind of a strange shape, squares instead of rectangles, a little odd and not overly comfortable. "First-Rate Portland Experience"
My wife and I wanted to go somewhere relaxing and different and we joke that we came to Portland after seeing a documentary called "Portlandia." We enjoyed the town -- the Japanese garden on our one non-rainy day, the many restaurants, riding the public transit -- and the Monaco complemented it all. The location is great, the staff was exceedingly helpful […] and friendly and the hotel is a nicely restored old building decorated with grandeur as well as some humorous over-the-top elements. "Loved the Decor"
The location was great, close to everything we wanted to see. The decor of the room was wonderfully fun. It was a little small, but comfortable enough for a short stay. "Satisfactory customer service"
A year ago my family and I stayed at this same hotel and we were impressed with the customer service. We were sure we would be back. We raved about the Kimpton. This time around the service was not at the same level and we were disappointed because this time we invited others to come to Portland and convinced them to stay here for the "service". We […] enjoyed the wine hour, the decor, the lobby like the last time but without the exceptional level of service it was not the same. This time we were not always greeted with smiles. Sometimes no eye contact. We were asked by valet to call ahead 15 mins to let them know when we could bring down our luggage to load. When we called, however, we could hear the guy give out a sigh of frustration over the phone. To sum it all, the stay was pretty typical of a hotel stay in a comfy hotel in a great location. "Awesome"
Will stay again. They needed more selection for their vinyl records an the 8-track selection wasn't bad either. The wine social in the lobby was pretty unique and the southwest area was pretty cool. Had an issue with the smoke alarm going off whenever you take a shower,we just thought it was one of those Portland things we wouldn't understand so we […] just danced to it till it went off. "Love the decor, donuts and location"
Great location. Red star restaurant was good, especially happy hour. Loved the wine/beer tasting hour and the voodoo donuts in the morning. Great room although being on the 2nd floor meant sometimes navigating around attendees for the function rooms. Underground parking was pricey but convenient. "Perfect Stay"
I rarely have such a great all-around hotel experience, but my stay at Hotel Monaco was amazing. The hotel was very comfortable, with a unique and colorful style. The staff was friendly and helpful - we even discovered that we could take out the hotel's complimentary bikes for a ride around town (with plenty of suggestions from the valets, of course). […] The icing on the cake for us was their "Director of Pet Relations," a retired guide dog, named Timmy, who calmly manned the concierge desk from 10a-6p every day! "A lovely hotel with a unique style."
Enjoyed the large open lobby that was comfortable and well used by guests. Staff was fabulous. Dogs are welcome at the hotel and we enjoyed meeting a few very well behaved dogs during the wine and coffee hours. Our only complaint was that it was noisy at night with delivery trucks and activity outside. Hard to avoid outside noise in downtown Portland […] and we definitely would stay at Hotel Monaco again. My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Monaco with our infant son for one week and loved every minute. Beautiful rooms. Helpful staff. Great food. Wine receptions each night. Very accommodating. "Interesting decor, nice hotel, pet friendly"
We stayed 2/15-18, 2013. The hotel is located in central downtown so it's easily within walking distance to many restraurants and shopping. The parking is a bit pricey at $38 per night but the valet staff were very friendly and quick. The decor is interesting and the hotel was very clean. The room temp was difficult to keep constant, was either way […] too hot or too cold most of the time. Also, the bed was rather hard (and I prefer a firmer bed) and the pillows were awful. The room had a fully stocked minibar with drinks and snacks. The Red Star restraurant is attached to the hotel. This is a dog friendly hotel and many dogs wer staying over the weekend apparently (which I wasn't as aware of) so if you have allergies try to request a room were pets have not stayed. I'm allergic and wasn't expecting to have issues while there but luckily I brought some allergy meds. Noise/barking wasn't an issue. Lesa meiraÓsvikin umsögn gesta á Expedia

For the ratings I've seen, I would have expected better service at the hotel. Also, the decor in the rooms seems tacky and outdated and the rooms are rather small. Other than location, I wasn't impressed for the price. I would rather stay at the Heathman or LuciaÓsvikin umsögn gesta á Expedia

"Very pricey but worth it."
Hotel was situated in downtown location with lots of homeless people wandering and panhandling. Restaurant in Hotel was excellent but pricey. Stayed for two nights. First night, the people in the next room played their rap music loudly until 2 AM. Complained to the hotel staff but they did not get the persons in the room to turn down their "boom box". "A must-stay!"
After reading the reviews for the Monaco I was very excited about staying at the hotel. Happy to say that my expectations were met and I enjoyed a great mini-holiday there. The hotel is well located and the staff are fantastic. Plus it is dog friendly! The only recommendation I have for folks staying here is buzz down two blocks down (towards the river) […] for parking. "Best staff, from the doorman, to yoga intructor!"
The staff made a special effort to make our stay special. The Happy Hour was something we looked forward to eventhough we don't drink wine, but it was the live piano music, the friendly atmosphere, and the artists station (for hotel guests who feel like whipping up a masterpiece). My husband and I enjoyed a quick get-away to Portland and as usual, we were very happy with our trip overall. This was the first time we stayed at the Hotel Monaco and we would definitely stay here again. Very close to the shopping district, food trucks, restaurants... we literally walked everywhere.
