Pacific Shores Inn on Pacific Beach – San Diego

For a lower price hotel, 200 ft from the boardwalk, I was very pleased with this hotel!!!I had a coffee maker, microwave & frig.in a large walkin closet with a window. we had a table & chairs, & a large dresser/cabinet. The bathroom had been updated & had a nice tiled shower with glass door. The pool is sparkly clean & private.This place is pet friendly […] & was great to have our dog with us!! There is also laundry facilities on sight. Nice for all the wet towels & beach wear!!! We will stay here again in a few months. We found everything we could want to make this our great vocation spot! Overall the hotel was what I was looking for. It's close to the beach on the upper end of pacific beach. Restaurants are just a few blocks away. Not much of a breakfast spread though. Just coffee, juice and pastries.

They were in the middle of remodeling and put us in a room next to it. Banging on our walls started before 8am and continued into early evening. I'm sure the place will be very nice when done, but they weren't concerned about our inconvenience. This hotel was right on Pacific Beach. I was about ten steps away. Stayed in a room that was furthest away from the office just pass the pool. Pictures on the web must have been taken at some other hotel. This is NOT a luxury motel for sure. Renovations going on there, but this is not a place for a romantic runaway. Beach close by so great place for about 15 surfer dudes to share a room on holidays and the summer. Parking terrible. Will not visit again.

This place is a gem! Our room appeared to be recently renovated as other renovations were in the process but that was not an issue. Nice clean room with a full kitchen, good sized bathroom, comfortable bed and free parking. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was the perfect location. Couldn't get any closer. It was close to everything. We were ten minutes to La Jolla and saw the seals. Made sand castles at the beach which only took about a minute to walk to. Found another beach close by which was about ten mins away and found lots of sand dollars at. Location is good. A few blocks to the main area but very close to the beach. Check in was smooth and staff is very friendly. Free parking a big plus. Breakfast was muffins and danish with juices and coffee. Good enough to start the day. Tip- there's a tray in your room to be used to bring breakfast back to the room. The room was comfortable and clean […] but it did have a bad smell. It is a motel and is fine for a laid back beach vacation but if amenities are what you want you may to spend more and go somewhere else. inlocation in serious need of update...and looks like they are doing that. Staff are friendly. Bed was pretty uncomfortable, TV has few channels. for the price it's all about the location.

Pacific Shores was conveniently located for us, but there were problems with the room. The bathroom outlet didn't work, thus the hairdryer which was in the bathroom didn't work. I had to get a separate hair dryer and dry my hair in the bedroom area. The phone didn't work and had to be replaced. Some of the towels had stains on them. There was no in-room […] coffee/tea set up. The pillows were kind of lumpy. The reception staff was friendly. Lesa meira

The service here was great the staff was as nice as family. We went with our dogs and they help where ever they could to make sure the stay was great. This location was near everything that we wanted and so close to the beach that you can hear the water. I will use them again any time I go to San Diego, thank you so much.

Great location just minutes from Pacific Ocean, easy walk along the beach. Room is spacious with shower, fridge, microwave and tv. No free wi fi but it is available for a fee at the office. Close to La Jolla to view the seals in their natural habitat-close to Sea World, and other great attractions.

Good location. Walking distance to everything you need. We enjoyed the fact that our room was only a hundred yards or so from the beach and boardwalk. Nice shower in the room but my wife loves soaking a bath at the end of the day and most of the rooms don't come with bathtubs. They are renovating the rooms that do have tubs so eventually no rooms will […] come with tubs (according to the girl at the front desk). Unfortunately that is a deal breaker for my wife. Other than that the staff were very friendly and the cleaning staff did a good job daily. I would recommend this place to all my shower taking friends! Lesa meira

clean quiet and small. Great choice if your looking for budget prices on the beach. Lots to do and see within walking distance. Breakfast wasnt worth the walk to the front desk area. Other than that it was a great stay. Will be back on our next vacation.

Our accomodations were very nice. We were very close to the Pacific Ocean and also close to restaurants. The breakfast was only rolls, coffee,and juice, but was enough to start the day. We thought the room was comfortable and it met our needs. We would stay there again. The rates were reasonable.

Effiicent reception, comfortable bed in room with no view but, at the lowest end of the price range, not unexpected. 50 yds from the beach, less that 1/4 mile to cafes, bars, restaurants and shops - great value for money

Did not have Internet as advertised, and need to ask for haridryer. But it is very close to the beach, and it was a beautiful beach.

Nice place, friendly staff..it is very close to the beach but it isn't as close as the pictures they have online lead you to believe. Huge rooms though, overall nice stay.

The place is in a great location - mere feet from the beach. However, the room left much to be desired. Although the room had been renovated in the not too distant past, the general state of the place was disarray. There doors were very beat up, there was dirt/grime/blood (possibly, obviously I didn't test it) on the main door frame and the bathroom […] door. If you're looking for a place to rest your head after drinking in PB or the like, then this is a decent option, but if you're looking for a nice place to stay, keep looking. Lesa meira

The staff was really nice and very professional. If there was anything I Needed, they provided it or let me know where i can get it. The scenery is beautiful and just feet away from the Pacific Beach. More of an older crowd than younger, which is fine with me. Very quiet.,

Front desk and managment very nice, respectful and polite. The room was bigger than expected, but then we were just two. The bed is a little harder than my husband liked, but everyone is different. I slept fine. The ocean is literally about 5 mins walk from here. Quiet stay and very pleasant. We will stay here again and recommend it as well.

Stayed here with a group of young adults, awesome location, very close to the beach and tonnes of restaurants, bars & pubs around. loved it! would definitely go back! dont rely on complementary breakfast, its only a few muffins & coffee.

Spent three nights and found this hotel to be quite confortable and conveniently located. The beach was just a half block away (though just a peek of an ocean view). The beds were better than most at this price level and the large step-in shower was great. I only have two small complaints. There was a lot of noise from others as they left near-by rooms […] and while a coffee pot was supplied in the room, there was no coffee or coffee cups. Very minor and issues and I would stay again! Very Nice location & property. The breakfast was a less than continental. Great restaurants & Bars in walking distance. Rooms have a musty smell at first but seems to go away or you get use to it!

While it is in a great location - walk to beach, boardwalk, restaurants and bars - the hotel is falling apart. We stayed over New Year's 2012 for 3 nights, and it was cold, well for SD. There was no heat in our room and the next morning they gave us a small room electric room heater, explaining the regular heater/AC was not working. Is it legal to rent […] a room when there is no heat/AC???? Then the next day, we (Stupidly?) ran the hair dryer AND the TV at the same time and the electricity went out! Back to the office and being told you can't do both at the same time! The staff is friendly enough but who ever owns this place should be VERY EMBARRASSED!
