"Quirky courtyard design and high standards."

The room was nice; the bed was comfortable; the free WiFi was great; but the toilet with the push down button to flush was very difficult to use. The remote for the TV was broken and had to be replaced, and the drain lever in the tub was broken so the drain had to be lifted with my fingers. Wallpaper was peeling in the hallway and the heat was cranked […] way too high. The front desk people were very nice and friendly, but weren't able to help much with directions. "Most comfortable bed and pillows in town."
First of all, the bed was absolutely wonderful. Cozy and comfortable with down pillows instead of foam rubber rocks. And the room was quiet and spotless. Super location, if you're going to be on Harvard's campus for your stay. Close to numerous restaurants, coffeehouses, bookstores - you have your pick of what to do, eat and how to spend your time! The decor of the hotel is a bit dated, and don't be fooled - there really is no hotel restaurant and bar in the Atrium - just an assortment of tables and […] chairs which apparently get taken in and out for events. After an evening of wandering around with friends, we landed at the hotel's Atrium for a glass of wine - I had to ask at the front desk for service, and it seemed to be a hassle. No coffee in the room - so I crept out the back of the hotel each morning for a cup at Dunkin' Donuts, not 100 feet away from the back entrance of the hotel. Worked well enough. "Paper Thin Walls"
I am loyal to this hotel because the staff is very helpful and the location is great for when I am visiting Harvard. The main issue is that the walls are so thin that you can basically hear people flushing toilets, running water etc in the rooms all around you. The main open Atrium space while beautiful is a bit stuffy. If you like dining in a simulacra of a formal academic dining hall it will be your thing. When we first arrived, our rooms air conditioner was not working well. "Staff Went the Extra Mile!"
We asked for a room that looked at something pretty if possible and were given a room with a lovely comfortable window seat looking out at a beautiful tree and building with great architecture. Room was very clean, bed comfortable. Unexpectedly, I fell in Harvard Square, and spent a few hours in the Emergency Room. Upon returning, on crutches, we asked […] about room service, which would be closing in 15 minutes (it was 9:45pm). The front desk called them to alert them that we would be calling. The waiter who delivered the meal was kind and gracious, and must have mentioned to some others what had happened, because when breakfast was delivered, the waitress who brought it graciously asked how my ankle was, and commiserated, having had a similar experience, yes, ice is good! We requested and were given late check-out so my husband could go home to get our car, and they brought up a wheel chair so I wouldn't have to travel the halls on crutches. The two meals we had were delicious, and the setting made for a comfortable and pleasant place of refuge. The Inn is the best accomodation for families or others visiting students at Harvard due in large part to its close proximity to Harvard. The staff is courteous, helpful and, on this, my third visit in 6 months, I felt like returning family. The rooms are comfortable and clean and generally well appointed. Breakfast is well-prepared and foods and fruit […] fresh and tasty. For other meals, there are a myriad of eateries within easy walking distance from upscale epicurean (Sandrines) to the greatest assortment of some of the best burgers you will ever taste (Bartley's), all within 3 blocks.
