Great location, clean rooms, good views, comfortable. In short, everything you need when you're not aiming at staying in your room all day. Parking was expensive but this is LA, so not outrageous. One gripe I had was, while they charged for the "extra person", which really means three people in a room with two queen beds, they didn't provide enough […] toiletries for three! The rooms are average, clean but in need of updating. The furniture has obvious wear and tear. The lack of power outlets was also a bit annoying. That being said, it was good for a one night business stay and conveniently located near many great Japanese restaurants. No complaints about the friendly staff.

Just realize you are in LA and always subject to the chaos of the city. Upon arrival the staff was helpful and polite. When we arrived in our room we opened the drapes and bore witness to the chaos of the city. While casting our gaze upon the skyline our attention suddely focused on the activity on the adjacent top floor parking structure. Apparently […] two socially clueless products of the LA Unified School District choose to make a semipublic spectacle by fornicating in front of the entire upper floors on the West side of the building. Other than the previously stated National Geographic type activity occuring the hotel was fine. The restaurant was very good. Many selections of cold sake as well. Would definitely recommend this hotel, just keep the drapes closed. Lesa meira

For business at the federal court house, the location is wonderful. The bed and pillows were exceptional. The overall cleanliness was good, but some minor upkeep was lacking. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The lounge offers little entertainment and for some reason charges to sit at the table and chair but not at the bar. I enjoyed every aspect of the stay, including the proximity to LA public transportation that got me everywhere I needed to go for next to nothing.

15 min walk from red line metro "civic center", highly convenient to go visit Universal Studios. Starbucks 2 min away for breakfast. Within Little Tokyo so no problem getting sushis or ramens. Personnel is nice, rooms are ok but the bathroom could be better. Valet parking works fine but i would not recommend the restaurant.

The hotel was overall pretty nice. First impression was the hotel lobby which is simple but nice front desk service was everything I could've asked for. However the room and bathroom could use an update or two and the room windows were filthy. But the stay was quiet and nice.

This hotel is a very peaceful place. Excellent service & stay This was my 2nd stay at this hotel and surely not my last .

The only problem with this hotel was the bathroom. the drain system of the faucet did not work well and pressure on the shower head was too strong. Unless they improve on this matter, I will probably not return to this hotel.

We had to wait an hour before our room was ready when checking in at 3.p.m. We were given 2 vouchers for a continental breakfast to compensate for the inconvenience.. Location was very convenient for visiting the Japanese American Museum and walking, eating, and shopping around Little Tokyo.

It was great - beds were so comfy and clean! They have really nice white sheets and comforter covers—none of those yucky hotel bed covers with the ugly patterns that never get washed.

Miyako Hotel is located in a quiet section of 1st Avenue in Japantown and near downtown LA. A business hotel favored by Japanese tour groups and businessmen, its rooms are generous, subtly decorated, quiet, and thoughtfully supported by a diverse staff. Breakfast at Miyako completes full American options and interesting Japanese selections like smoked […] fish and sushi rice. Across the street is amazing ramen at Daikokuya...nearby are the gates of a beautiful temple and around the corner is a Japantown mall with products, a market, and an amazing little japanese bakery. The Geffen Museum and Japanese Cultural Center are nearby. PS Hot tip: Immediately next to the hotel's valet parking is a very reasonable and safe public parking garage. Check it out. Lesa meira

Staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms REALLY need to be updated. Even the hallways had peeling wallpaper and dirty paint and carpet. Would not stay here again.

The hotel is older in structure, but the rooms and lobby are very modern. The hotel staff oozed Japanese hospitality! I was worried about booking any hotel in downtown LA because I don't know the area. I would definitely stay at the Miyako again!

the miyako is an elegant hotel, well situated in downtown, walkeable from railway station and most downtown landmarks. One thing they lack is PBS or news station on the TV, as very few channels. Our advice: do not have breakfast at the coffee bar in their lobby - lousy croissants, lousy coffee, and plastic utensils. we know this is not run by hotel, […] but a classy hotel should chose a better concessionary. Great location if you are visiting Little Tokyo and would like to try some Japanese dishes. Free wi-fi. Staff were all friendly and helpful. TV was not HD. Beware of the paper-thin wall - could hear a man in the next room rambling on the phone at night for a long time. I was about to make a complaint when he hung up.

I was on a bussiness trip and booked my hotel here in the center of Little Tokyo. The proximity to Japanese restaurants and shops was the best part of the hotel. The hotel was very clean however I was not very impressed by the beds or the decor considering I stayed in an Executive Suite. I will definately be returning.

Nice Clean hotel which is looking tired in the corridors and bathrooms. Pealing wall paper doesn't look great. Room was nice a spacious and bed was very comfortable. Biggest grip was with the service. Arrived early from London, told that my room wasn't ready and that I would have to to wait till 3pm (2.5 hrs!!) No attempt to call room service to rush […] a room or look after me whilst waiting. Have to chase them to get a room. then was told that the cleaning service was closed Sunday so nothing till Monday. I ahd to ask them to help me find a local company. no initiative. Lesa meira

This hotel is super convenient, reasonably priced, and, best of all, is located in Little Tokyo, where you can get delicious ramen every night and even great sushi in the restaurant. It's the best of both worlds: the convenience of downtown and the quirky charms of a neighborhood. So much better than staying in yet another Sheraton.

This is a great hotel. It is located in a very nice area for walking (the Little Tokyo) which is full of nice restaurants. The rooms are great, big space, beds are great, the staff was very helpful. There was no breakfast included in the price of the room, but there is a small cafe shop in lobby that sell very convenient breakfasts, and it has a fresh […] as well as diverse menu. We were very happy with this hotel! No complaints. It was very clean, very quiet (we were on 10th floor--out of 11), and room and bath certainly ample size for the two of us. We especially liked the table set up. It had two comfortable adjustable desk chairs and lamp and we could sit across from each other to read or eat our own inroom-prepared breakfast. […] Refrigerator was appreciated for the latter. Furnishings also included a chaise lounge with an over head light. Hotel location is very handy; only 1 1/2 block to a Gold Line stop, (with next stop Union Station). We felt safe walking the neighborhood and all of First St. The location also gives a nice glimpse of Little Tokyo if you are interested. We selected hotel based on reviews of a decent place at a reasonalble price and a reasonable location to tour Downtown by foot or public transportation. We were not disappointed. Lesa meira

Good to be so close to Little Tokyo for restaurants. In spite of LA's disdain for public transportation this is one area where it is workable.

The room had been well cleaned prior to my stay so the bedsheets and towels were fresh and new. However, the shower and bathroom could use some updating and a deep clean. It was good for the price and served me well in a great location.

Many restaurants, and very lively at night. Just walk around and there are plenty of things to check out on the block around the hotel.
