Best Western er dæmi um fyrirtæki sem byggir á sterkum gildum stofnanda fyrirtækisins og er enn þann dag í dag í eigu fjölskyldunnar. Upplifun mín af hótelinu er sú að það leggi mikla áherslu á það að starfsmenn þess séu mjög meðvitaðir um fyrir hvað fyrirtækið stendur og mikilvægi þess að viðskiptavinir þess fari frá hótelinu með aðra upplifun en frá öðrum hótelum. Þjónustulund starfsmanna finnst mér vera eitt af aðalsmerkjum þeirra tveggja heimsókna sem ég hef átt á Best Western. Það er eins og maður sé kominn heim til ömmu og afa þegar maður kemur í heimsókn til Best Western.

This lakeshore town near the Swiss border has elegant parks and medieval buildings. It also has a busy industrial quarter based on silk manufacture, and is a fine place for shopping. A museum traces the history of Como’s textiles, which still supply the great fashion houses of Europe. Main sights are a handsome Gothic - Renaissance cathedral, and the Romanesque church of Sant’Abbondio, decorated with 14th-century frescoes.

"Not Comfortable Not a 4star standard"
The bed was very uncomfortable the pillows were very poor. The breakfast average hot food was cold. Room suffered from traffic noise in the street. Does not warrant its rating. It stuck in a time warp.
"Perfect 4-star hotel in Como"
My mother and I had a perfect stay here in October 2011. The location is ideal -- steps from the train station, Duomo and historic center, waterfront with boats up the lake, funicular up the mountain, etc. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, with good restaurant and activity recommendations. The breakfast was GREAT -- tons of food to choose […] from, and in a lovely room overlooking the piazza and lake. Was tough to make myself stop sipping unlimited delicious coffee and gazing at the view, and go out and DO something. We were doing some heavy hiking during the days, so the deep bathtubs at the end of the day were wonderful as well. Highly recommend this for a 4-star hotel in Como. Lesa meira

"Barchetta Excelsior Lake Como"
The lobby of the hotel was modern, while the room furniture was fine but a bit dated and should be replaced. We had a terrace and our room overlooked the square and the lake. The hotel was conveniently located in the center of everything and near ferry docks. Breakfast (included) was satisfactory. this is a very old, tired hotel in a great location. rooms are small and badly in need of updating, but very clean. breakfast was decent but it would have been so much nicer to eat outdoors. the help, particularly the front desk, was great. all in all, a reasonable place to stay if you just want a place to sleep that is in the middle of the action. This is a very comfortable hotel in a great location. Rooms are a little worn but the bed was comfortable, soundproof glass made it really quiet and acwas really quiet. Breakfast was excellent. Front desk staff not very knowledgeable or helpful.

We had a lovely stay at the Barchetta Hotel , the staff were very helpful. The hotel was typically Italian with very traditional interiors in the Bedroom, very clean and comfortable. "Barchetta Excelsior Lake Como"
The hotel was nice. It is across a plaza from the lake and close to the duomo and lots of sights. Driving into Como was difficult with lots of traffic, one way streets and signs only on the buildings. Getting out of town was better. Parking is not guaranteed but worked out for us. This was our first trip to Lake Como, and this hotel couldn't have been a better choice, convenient for everything, quite, clean and excellent service. If we stayed in Como again, we'd certainly stay here.

Wonderful staff, very helpful and welcoming. 2 minute walk from Milpensa express train. Room clean and nice breakfast. On Piazza Covour, so a bit noisy and loud, but right across the street from boat shuttle service.

"Best view of Lake Como"
We stead at this hotel in May and from the moment we saw our room with a view of Lake Como and a nice balcony we knew we choose the right hotel.The staff were friendly and helpful and answered all our questions also helped us with times for trains etc. We were right opposite the boat deck for visiting all the pretty towns along the lake. The bar is […] a little quite in the evening and when we did stay for a drink we were the only customers there. Maybe they should have some music nights or entertainment in the evenings for the guests. But overal the hotel was great. Our room was clean and tidy. The breakfast was also very enjoyable with a good selection to choose from.I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends and would return again. Lesa meira
"Comfortable hotel but NOT 4 Star in my opinion"
First of all, the hotel as the pictures portray is not just by the Lake Como. It is facing the lake but approximately 65 metres from the lake. We stayed in a standard room. It was comfortable and clean but the bathroom fixtures such as bath mixture taps, the shower, WC and bidet are from the late 1950s. The bidet was totally useless as the flow was […] not powerful or adequate, as it was of a 1950s design. We had two separate rooms. The facilities and conditions in both were the same. The breakfast while adequate was nothing extraordinary. Very normal run of the mill breakfast where not even any bacon was available. I am a tea drinker and the range of teas was very limited. The lady at the reception when we were departing and whenever we made contact during our stay was very frosty. A training course on customer relationship will help her. But the gentleman at the reception who booked us in was friendly and welcoming. I have stayed in many 4 STAR hotels during my travels and by any means I would NOT classify this hotel as 4 STAR hotel. My rating taking into account of all the facilities and location is 3 STAR. Lesa meira
"Great Location"
Hotel is in the main tourist square with view of Lake Como but is set a little back from the noise. I asked to move from my first room because there was a connecting door with the adjacent room and I could hear every word being said by my neigbors. Also, although smoking was only permitted on the balcony the smoke from next door was coming into my room. […] They moved me to another room without any trouble and it was much quieter. "What a pity"
Hotel has a fantastic location and lake view but it is very tired and our room was damp. Breakfast was just ok. Reception staff were excellent and very helpful. I hope they spend some serious money on the place very soon.

"Unfreundliche Receptionistin, zentral aber laut..."
Schon nur wegen der blonden, unfreundlichen und schnippischen Receptionistin würde ich nicht mehr in diese Hotel gehen. Die restlichen Angestellten waren jedoch sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Hotel ist sehr zentral gelegen aber leider auch laut auf der Seeseite.

Trevlig personal som är mycket hjälpsam med uppvärmning av barnmat mm. Barnvänligt. Hotellet är bekvämt och nära det mesta. Ett stort minus är att man måste lämna sitt kreditkort och att hotellet gjorde en reservation på ett relativt stort belopp på kontot för eventuella skador eller kostnader som kan uppstå under vistelsen. Blockeringen av pengarna […] kvarstår i flera dagar och gjorde ett rejält hål i reskassan. Lesa meira

Fantastiskt läge om man har ett rum med seaview! Rummen och inredningen skulle behöva få sig en makeover så att de kändes lite med nutida.

La chambre et le lobby sont de qualité 4 étoiles moins ,mais la façade , les balcons avec des vitres de protection cassées, l'état des huisseries correpondent à peine à un trois étoiles , l'hôtel a besoin d'une rénovation importante pour pouvoir prétendre au statut d'un 4 étoiles

"Barchetta Exelsior"
Dette hotellet ligger så sentralt som det går an i Como. Alt er tett ved. Også konserter og massemønstringer av motorsykler på Piazza Cavour. Hotellet er moderne men de har virkelig spart på lyd-isolasjonen. Det kan jo være en morsom opplevelse, inkludert i prisen, for dem som liker å høre paret som har seg i naborommet. Noen av resepsjonistene kunne […] med fordel tatt seg et smilekurs. Det er ikke gjestenes feil at de sliter med å gjøre seg forstått på engelsk. Service burde strengt tatt være en glede med de høye prisene de tar for en kaffe i baren, ei ekstra barneseng og tilgang til internett. Mange småting som irriterer med dette hotellet. Men det holder bra standard og de nære omgivelsene består av glimrende spisesteder, severdigheter og atmosfære. Lesa meira

"Schöne Aussicht und zentral"
- freundliches Personal - Frühstück in Ordnung (der Kaffee wäre durch feinen starken Ital. Espresso zu ersetzen) - wunderbare Aussicht auf den See - zentral gelegen - Lärm hält sich in Grenzen, da Platz dazwischen

First of all it's a location is perfect - in front of the lake and Piazza Cabour, 2 minutes to the Cathedral, 5 minutes to the train station - very conveniently situated. The reception personnel were very helpful, especially Miss. J (sorry I forgot her name with her beautiful blond hair with wonderful smile! The room with a lake view is just magnificent. […] The breakfast was very good indeed (however if you stay more than 6 days in the same hotel you get a bit tired of the same menu of it). In spite of rainy days in November we really enjoyed Como (its rich history, wonderful restaurants, museums and long walks) and its surrounding villages by bus and boat. Thus I recommend this wonderful hotel and Como City especially when you travel with an old person (my father in law, 80 y o). We had a great trip together! Thanks! Lesa meira

Excellent location, right next to the lake. Even though the hotel looks old, similar to the majority of Como hotels, we stayed in a standard room and did not have any problem in the room. The size of the rooms are OK as well. If you are looking for a bad & breakfast accomodation, excellent choice in the middle of everywhere in Como. The hotel does not […] have a carpark, but the hotel guests can park their car in their sister hotel's parking lot (Palace Hotel - 2 minutes walking distance) for a fee of 15 Euro, which is reasonable for Como. "Zentrale Lage"
Dieses Hotel hat eine zentrale Lage Dies ist eher ein mittelmässiges 3 Stern Hotel als ein 4 Stern Frühstücksraum ist viel zu klein und alte, defekte Stühle Gute Betten, ruhige Lage Grosses aber sehr altes Badezimmer
Das einzige was im Hotel eher schlecht war, war das Frühstück. Das Buffett war eher leer. Zu wenig Personal um schnell nachzufüllen.
Hotellet hade bra läge, vid sjön. Utsikten från baklongen över ett litet torg och sjön var vacker. Möttes av trevlig personal i receptionen. Fick rum med sjöutsikt fast vi inte bokat det, trevligt att bli "uppgraderad"! Rummet lite gammaldags möblerat men sängarna var sköna och badrummet var också bra. Mycket rent och snyggt, och balkongen var läcker […] att inta sin champagne på! Runt om fanns många resturanger och barer. Frukosten riktigt bra med allt man kunde önska sig. Lesa meira

"Sehr zentral gelegen"
Wir waren von diesem Hotel sehr begeistert. Die Dame an der Rezeption war sehr zuvorkommend. Das Zimmer war sauber und liegt sehr zentral. Hatten eine tolle Sicht auf den Comer See.
"Everything you need"
Great location and a very helpful staff, good english speaking skills, very pleasant and helpful. The room had a great ocean view (5th floor), balcony, plenty of space and a huge comfortable bed. Highly recommended, also very quiet and calm, no complaints.

Das Personal war unbedingt aufmerksam, hilfsbereit und immer freundlich. Das gilt für Rezeption, Bedienung und Zimmerservice.

God service, vennlig personale i både resepsjon og restaurant/bar. Rommene var ok (skloite seg ikke positivt fra 3-stjerners) med herlig balkong med utsikt over Comosjøen - balkongen og utsikten var verd hever krone for oppgraderingen.
