Typical average stay at an airport . They are building a new Hilton right now. This hotel was in need of an update. I didn't like that you couldn't use Wifi in the room. We had to sit in lobby or pay for Wifi in room. The location was great for use of train travel to go back into Amsterdam and to catch our flight out back to states. For quick access to the airport and easy access to the city, this was perfect. Hotel staff were wonderful and the train runs right below to the airport. Take a copy of your reservation, as we booked (and paid for) bed and breakfast, and they said breakfast was not included... but, after reviewing our reservation copy we took with us, sorted it out. Quite simply, impressive. Walking distance from the airport, well sign posted, easy to find. I arrived at 8am after a long international flight. At that hour i never expect to be able to check in. I simply asked to leave my bags and was very surprised to be offered my room. I never expect this, and I am sure it can't always be done, but it was really […] outstanding and it was much appreciated. Upon leaving at 5am I was twice asked if I would like to be dropped off by van at the terminal, again it is that attention to detail that makes a difference. Airport hotels are all about location, location, location. It is not cheap, but it is obvious that they understand what their market values, and they try just that bit harder. I was looking forward to a comfortable and easy transit stay at Schipol. I had gathered that this hotel was a short and covered walk from the terminals. Unfortunately, although definitely walkable, it is not short and involves some walking outside which could be an issue in bad weather. Also, similar most of the US chains, all extras are quite expensive […] , e.g. internet at 27 euros per night. The condition of the hotel is marginal and appears not to have been updated for some time. Given the cost and low value, I will likely choose other options next time. However, if taking the indoor 10-minute walk from airport, it is difficult to find the walk ramp leading to the indoor walkway. Once at its end, finding the hotel itself was impossible and required asking in the […] car rental offices in the parking garage because small arrow doesn't indicate that the hotel is OUTSIDE ACROSS THE WAY from the parking garage. THE place to crash if you have a night-time layover at Schipol. Easy walk, including moving sidewalks a lot of the way, out to the end of the airport garage. The control switch for the heat was broken. Had to put the fan on high to be able to sleep in the too hot room. The control for the bath/shower temperature came off in my hand. We walked to the hotel from the airport with one roller bag each. Got there about 0900 expecting to store our bags, but a room was ready so we got into it early. Walked back to airport and caught train to Amsterdam for walking tour of city. Spent night at hotel, walked to airport for flight to Venice. Worked well for us!!Ósvikin umsögn gests á Hotels.com

"Would stay here again"
The hotel room was very warm when we arrived. I notified the front desk and left for the remainder of the day. When I returned, the room felt a couple of degrees cooler so I didn't request a room change. My mistake as the room remained new 28 degrees, too hot for me to have a comfortable night sleep. Reception was courteous and appologetic at check-out […] and offered me an upgrade on my next stay. Hotel and rooms are very clean and comfortable beds. Good hotel for an overnight stay. Bar meal and breakfast outstanding. Location and convenience great. One problem with maintenance - bath/shower took over 2 hours to drain! We choose this hotel because we had an early morning flight. The location was great & shuttle service was also very good. However, hotel maintenance was marginal - one elevator was not working & the air conditioning in our room was also not working. "very very very poor mattress!"
the mattress was the worst of the many hotels I have stayed in for the last 4 decades. the mattress must have been left over from the 60s.... both wife and I have a real struggle to try and sleep on the steep slope down to the middle. Very convenient to airport. Can walk easily through covered walkway or take shuttle. Bathroom was not clean, but we were moved to a new room immediately and sent a fresh fruit plate as an apology. We would stay there again.Ósvikin umsögn gests á Hotels.com

"Close to airport, but not the closest."
This is a three star hotel, not a four. Its older, fifties style and show it. They have a shuttle bus from the airport, but its quicker to walk to the hotel. They would better serve the clientele by having free wi-fi. They also need better on-line instructions re: how to find it. Go to the rental car area and follow signs to parking.
