The central location, on the main highway, is perfect. The view from the room, facing the creek and the mountains, is very peaceful and beautiful. A very safe, quiet and private atmosphere. The room was clean and decorated nicely. Small bathroom, but sufficient, and included a mini-fridge and coffee maker.

All rooms have a great view of the beautoful mountains. Its close to dowtown sedona and starbucks right across the street. Great stay.

Could not have asked for better hotel for the price. View off private deck was awesome. Spacious room, very nice. Will stay at the hotel on future visits! Close to everything. We walked to shopping and to dinner.

Creekside view room - was wonderful for the balcony with beautiful view of Oak Creek, and incredible views of Snoopy Rock and what I think is called Schnebly Hill. View of rocks from pool and hot tub, too. Pool is seasonal - meaning not heated. Lounge chairs by pool were dirty. Room was clean, not updated. Bed was on the hard/uncomfortable side. Pillows […] small and flat. Plastic flowers on table and silk fake tree was dusty. Ice maker in lobby only, which is open from 6:30-10:30. Great location at Sedona "Y", walk to Starbucks and Wildflower Bakery across the street on 89A, Tlapaque arts village down the street (179), Red Rocks BBQ across the street on 179. If you are a light sleeper perhaps ask for a 2nd floor room. We stayed in first floor room and could hear footsteps of guests in room above - didn't bother us, though. Good flat screen TV. Stained glass window in bathroom above toilet next to shower didn't make bathroom 100% private, maybe 90%. Hard to maintain temperature of room with air unit, which was needed due to room location over what we think was laundry room for hotel. Lesa meira

This was our first visit to Sedona but will not be out last. Cedars Resort truly is within walking distance of uptown, shopping, restaurants and to top it off the view of the mountains and sound of Oak Creek was amazing. We will put Cedars Resort on our list for our next trip to Sedona and will recommend to others.

The hotel was very clean and comfortable. I was disappointed in the Morning hotel clerk. My husband and I had been on the road and arrived early, we knew we could not check in yet. I really needed to use the restroom and asked if I could use their restroom. He told me I could not and I could go over to the Burger King across the street. This hotel is […] near a roundabout and walking to this Burger King was quite a walk. I could understand this Hotel not wanting everyone off the street to use their restrooms, but I was a paid guest, and I know he didn't walk acreoss the street to use the restroom. Enjoyed being close to all the shops and dining areas. The room was nicely decorated and comfortable. Had a room on the back side facing the creek and the Snoopy formation. Did not have much interaction with the front desk staff other than picking up my room key and dropping it off on leaving. Some minor things to consider: I did have a lower floor […] room and the people above us must have been heavy footed because everytime they would walk around we could hear it. We were also disturbed by the contant open and closing of the doors from the rooms next to ours, don't know why but it seems like they were having trouble closing their doors so it would close with a loud noise everytime they went in and out. Be aware that the hotel is located on a round about and traffic sometimes made it difficult to get in the right lane to make the turn into the hotel parking. Lesa meira

Very over priced for the condition of the room. It's an old hotel/motel that needs a face lift inside and out. The bed head board was very dusty, the bed covering was stained, the carpet should be replaced,and the patio door lock was broken. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The only reason I gave this hotel a overall 4 was that the mirror/vanity area was just off of the main room, with a small toilet and shower area. I like more privacy doing my makeup, etc...however the view is great, the bed was comfy, TV great, WI FI great, cleanliness, and LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION was superb! We walked just about everywhere you […] really want to be, old town Sedona shopping and Tlaquepaque..we drove elsewhere one day. Just because the word "resort" is in the name does not make this a resort. It is a motel. Grangranted it is clean and the water is hot so it is good if you are expecting a motel. The phighlights: I was allergic to something in the room and there are all kinds of rules and warnings taped onto the check in counter- so pack an anti-hystamine and pay attention […] whwhen you check in. Also, there is no staff to speak of but there is a surly woman at the front desk. Not worth it for the price. For $40 more, go across the street to the hyatt. Lesa meira

The bed was comfortable. The room very warm and cozy. Shower/Bathroom a little small yet clean. Hot Tub by pool very small....May fit 4-6 people, 4 comfortably 6 a lil tight. The view of creek side was gorgeous. I would stay there again.

Our experience with the Motel was better than expected- the room was large and well decorated and the bed was comfortable. Beautiful view from balcony of mt rocks and nice room, but too much light coming in thru door window. It needs a shade or cover. I prefer dark quiet room for sleep. Desk clerk was very helpful on check in on near by restaurants.

The hotel was convenient which was very important. However, the staff were not particularly friendly or accommodating. Although it stated that there was access to the river, the gate was locked by 4:15pm and nothing was said about this to us when we checked in, which was disappointing. This is a nicely maintained hotel that manages to be both centrally located within walking distance of the main shopping area (and across the street from Starbucks) yet also very quiet and peaceful, probably because the rooms face out over the stream with a nice view of the red rocks. I would absolutely stay here again.

We have stayed here before and I think the hotel is underrated. Rooms are a good size and on the creekside there are amazing views of the red rocks. The crickets are really noisy though ! The room was very clean, service at front desk great, view from balcony of the room was outstanding and the location was to die for. Will definately return to The Cedars when we return to Sedona. We go at least 3 times a year as a get away and shopping with family and friends. I really like this motel.

For the price I would think the continental breakfast would be more that pre packaged bagels and canned fruit. The man at the front desk was unpleasant and NEVER smiled. It was like we were putting him out. The only good part was the view. I would not go back or recommend this hotel.

Room was clean and comfortable and the view off of the balcony was wonderful. It made staying here very worthwhile. The main drag in Sedona with shops, restaurants, etc is within easy walking distance of this hotel.

I have never been to Sedona, and the views were stunning. The best part of the resort was absolutely the view from the balcony. The amenities are antiquated but functioned. The pool was clean and the hot tub worked, but both has some fairly serious damage that could be dangerous to kids. The shower was great, hot water and great water pressure, but […] the room itself was very outdated. The biggest issue was a malfunctioning lock on the sliding door to the balcony. At 11 pm we went outside to enjoy the night air and closed the door. It locked behind us and we were trapped outside. After 45 minutes I was able to get the attention of the couple in the room next to us, who called the emergency number (the front office closes at 10:30) and someone came and let us back into our room. This was not my idea of a good time and when I spoke to front desk the next morning they seemed to not truly care much. If you want a stunning view of Sedona and are willing to deal with mediocre service and outdated rooms, this would be acceptable-just do not close the sliding glass door from the outside. Lesa meira

Had a great stay! The view from the balcony was spectacular. The room was not fancy but comfortable and clean. John at the front desk was professional, friendly, kind and accommodating. Only one night but got everything we wanted out of a Sedona night.

Room exceeded expectations as it was listed as a 2* hotel. Great view of the Red Rock mountains, and at night you can hear Oak Creek down below. Price seemed a little high, but it was in the middle of everything and within walking distance of all the shops and hotels. Would stay there again!!

Stayed a Cedars for a short weekend away. Great location, were able to walk down to the creek right from hotel. Walking distance to main tourist attractions. My wife and I were very pleased with our accommodations at the Cedars resort. The room was clean, spacious and we had a beautiful balcony view of the Red rock Mesas. Traveling to all hiking trails was easy, we highly recommend the West Fork Hike! We are not big shoppers, though the Tourist part of town was quaint but once thru is enough. Sedona is all […] about being in the wild. Spent a full day doing Montezuma Castle and well . The well was a real surprise; thanx to the Ranger who compelled us to go! Friendly and welcoming staff with good skills in providing information. A little short in providing toiletries: the room only had a shampoo and bar soap. When we asked for body lotion we were referred to a market near by. Breakfast was a little to plain, could use a little of creativity. Overall it was a good stay and definitely we can go back.

First of all I'm not sure how they can get away calling this a "resort". When we arrived, the older lady at the front desk was extremely unfriendly for no reason. We asked for a room on the top floor but were told they were all taken. After check-in we walked over to our room and the keys didn't work. My husband had to walk back and get her to re-do […] the keys. She offered no apology and acted like we were bothering her. The room was in decent condition. My only complaint on cleanliness was hair found in the bathtub. It had a slight smell of smoke even though it was a non-smoking room. We opened up the sliding glass door and let it air out for a while and it helped a little. The view was great from the room and the location is very central but those are the only two redeeming qualities. The bed was awful. It was just my husband and I but every time one person moved, the other person was almost ejected from the bed. The worst part was the noise factor. We could hear every single movement from the upstairs room along with every sound in the parking lot. Needless to say, we didn't sleep more than a couple hours that night. I wish we would have saved ourselves some money and stayed in a cheaper motel. It would have been the same quality of room but cheaper. Overall, we were extremely disappointed with the "resort". We chose this hotel due to the convenient location in town and short driving distance to the nearby hiking trails and absolutely loved the location! All rooms overlook Oak Creek Canyon and our room had a magnificient view of the creek as well as the surrounding red rocks. We slept with the windows open and listened to the creek all night. Heavenly! […] Although the rooms/bathroom were somewhat small and the hotel had no restaurant, what it lacks in the bells and whistles, makes up for with the location and view. Balcony was very nice and the view of the red rocks was perfect. The sound of the stream, which was in veiw, was soothing and added to the relaxed feeling of the room. Bed was very comfortable.

The only thing to recommend of this hotel is the gorgeous mountain views. Bring your own toiletries from home because the only thing you are going to get is a mixture of cheap shampoo and conditioner. Don't forget a bag for your dirty clothes. If you have sensitive skin stay away from this hotel. They put the bed linen in so much bleach that I got an […] allergic reaction. Also, the mattress is really hard. Don't bother going for the continental breakfast... you'll only find high caloric packaged pastries. Some yogurt, fresh fruit and cereal would have been greatly welcomed!!! Lesa meira

The view from the room was wonderful! We looked onto Oak Creek and many of Sedona's beautiful rock outcroppings. The location was very convenient and was an easy walk into town. However, the room was dark and ugly, and the toiletries were of the caliber you would expect in a very low budget hotel. The female clerk seemed indifferent to us when we checked in. No smile or pleasant greeting, she just checked us in and walked away. The room was great and the view and sound of the creek from our balcony was great. The pool view is excellent also. The bathrooms are a little outdated and dingy but otherwise acceptable.

My husband and I stayed at Cedar Resort on March 21, 2012 and we were very impressed with the hotel. This was our first visit to Sedona and the location was perfect for easy walking to the main tourist area and restaurants. Breakfast of juice, coffee, pastries, bagels, and fruit were included at no cost to us. The reason for the 2 Star rating is that they do not have a conference room, nor a restaurant. We reported the shower was not working on our arrival (water was boiling coming out of it and if one stood under it could have been severely burned) so we could only wash ourselves. The following day was reported again plus the hair dryer did not work or the coffee maker and for our two days stay nothing was done. Bad value for money.

This place was quite pleasant and the view was marvelous. King creekside view! NOT cheap but Sedona is pricey...The hot tub could have been warmer but it was CLEAN! For an older property, I was quite impressed....
