"simple weekend stay"
just needed the basics for a CHurch celebratory weekend of Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread, Sabbath Day and Christ's Resurrection. HOtel was within driving distance of the CHurch, I only needed a place to sleep and change mostly. Convenient basic breakfast in the morning and was trying to go green. "Super 8 cromwell"
If you like the noise from the highway overpass which is right behind the hotel, don't mind looking wrinkled, since they don't have irons in their rooms, and don't forget to pack your toothpaste or shaving cream, since they don't have complimentary ones to offer their guests... Then this is the place for you! Thank God there was a McDonalds right across […] the street since the complimentary breakfast also left a lot to be desired! "Best bang for the buck in quite a while"
Just a great stay. Room, bed and bathroom were very clean. Linens were fresh. Desk staff was very friendly and helpful. One lady insisted on printing out directions for us. Bed was very comfortable and we slept well. We slept in too late each morning to try the breakfast but it looks like they are set up for typical cereal, bagels, etc. Convenient location […] to get around Middletown/Portland/etc. I would definitely stay here again. Very clean, right off the highway, just what I needed for a stop on a long drive, pet friendly, too. Comfortable bed and good linens, friendly staff.

Ann the hotel staffer is the most accommodating person if she can she will fix the issue. We always contact this hotel first when ever traveling up from TN. The location is perfect between family and the rooms are always clean! For the price and service I wont go anywhere else! "smell"
The room is very small, the pillows are very tin and it's like not having a pillow at all. The room is a smoking room and all I smell is smoke. I do not smoke and this as the only room available. I needed a warm place t stay with hot water for my 8 year old son. I was happy with the price and the people are friendly.

I needed to find a fairly inexpensive hotel, and I was willing to compromise a LITTLE. But I didn't have to! This hotel and staff were as good as any 4-star I've stayed at. Clean, fresh rooms, friendly, responsive clerks and staff. I will stay there again!

The Super 8 Motel - Cromwell/Middleton was a basic room that served its purpose as a comfortable place to spend a night or two. If I had any complaint it was that the air conditioner was too big for the room (loud and on/off only) but this wasn't enough of a factor to keep my entire family from sleeping well or to keep me from returning.

If you just need a place to sleep for a night or two this place is OK. It's clean. In my room the TV remote didn't work and the clock didn't work. Good thing I had my cell phone.

The basics - but gave me room choice [top floor etc] and everything worked. And there is coffee, juice toast cereal milk etc although website said no breakfast. You want to lounge in your room, spend a lot of money - you want to sleep and have things to do during the day, stay here

I was skeptical about staying at this hotel but was quickly reassured upon arrival. Everything was well maintained and clean. My only complaint was that I was told there was wireless in the rooms and I was unable to connect to it. "Well worth the price paid"
Hotel staff was friendly, room location convenient, free breakfast in the morning, and the location was very convenient on our way to Maine for a one night stay. My girlfriend and I had a good night's rest on a comfortable bed in a clean room and checkout was a breeze. Really a very pleasant experience.

I have stayed at this motel several times now. I am a female, often traveling alone for work related business. The staff are always courteous and helpful. I always feel safe and secure. The location is perfect. Easy on and off I-91 with a variety of shopping and great restaurants in the immediate area. And the price is terrific. I will stay there again. My stay was priced right, very noisy guests in the hall around 3 am. Otherwise everything was as expected.

"Perfect Cromwell Hotel"
The Super 8 is ideal for a relatively low cost,clean, and comfortable place to stay while visiting relatives in the area. Plenty of great dining spots near by as well as stores for any possible need. Great freeway access as well. The management treats everyone great!

"Great Hotel. Better Service would be nice"
The hotel itself was very good. It is in the perfect location to get in and out and there are plenty of places to eat around it. The hotel was clean and the room was as expected. The check-in person was very nice and helpful. She asked our preferences before giving us our room. The other service was not so great. One night my key did not work and I […] went down to the front desk to ask about it. He did something then I went back up to the room and it still did not work. I had to go back down. This time the guy followed me to the room with a new key. It made it seem like I didn't know what I was doing. I was doing it properly, it was just the card was not working. During check out, the lady was helping someone else and took about 15 min. to print off a receipt. Here I was just standing there and all she had to do was collect my card, so I could go on my way. There was another couple behind me that had to do the same thing. She should have just asked what I needed and if I needed to wait, then she could tell me that. It was just a little frustrating. To summarize the service, it was extremely great at some points and lacking at others. Overall: I would go back to this hotel if I had to stay in the area again. Lesa meira

Good location. Lots of eateries and food choices around. Walmart and Kmart closeby. Did not hear highway noises. Breakfast was fine. Staff was great both at checkin and at breakfast.

I was there for an insurance conference. Kim told me the good places to eat around there and made sure I had everything I needed. She would ask me how my class was going and took interest on how things were going. When I was heading back to Maine it was snowing. She gave me her card with the number and told me to call her if I ran into any weather problems. […] She also said to call and let her know how I did on the final insurance test. "Great value"
The motel was clean, the staff were friendly, and everything worked. There was wireless for my laptop and a computer in the lobby hooked up to a printer in the office, allowing me to print my boarding passes. A simple breakfast was available with juices, coffee, hot and cold cereals, and some inexpensive pastries. If you were go to a restaurant in search […] of something more extravagant, you would still come out well ahead, given the low price. The hotel is surrounded by forest. Though the freeway is nearby I did not find it bothersome, particularly since the traffic subsides at night. It was a convenient drive to the Wesleyan University campus -- basically a straight drive with two right turns -- and just as easy to return. "Worth the Cost"
On the bad side, the hotel's corridors especially the stairwells needed cleaning. On the good side, the woman in charge Sunday morning did a yeoman's job in good spirits. She took care of the breakfast bar keeping it clean and resupplied all the while checking out customers and answering the phone. She did it all and kept everyone happy. Walk in the room and find the same put together furniture and think great. I look at the TV to find it tilted to the right and think....great. Well the bed made up for it and to me that makes up for alot and with that I would stay there again.

room was a comfortable size. only drawback was that my room backed up to the interstate and you could hear the traffic, muffled though it was. continental breakfast, only complaint was the orange juice was almost all water the two days i tried it.

From all the other reviews on here I thought the hotel would be above average despite the price. But, its not. It meets the basic needs of being a clean place to stay.
