This hotel is quite a bargain and still gives you a 3-4 star experience. What I mean by that is maybe it isn't the most luxurious, but it is still very good all around. The hotel grounds are impeccable, the food is pretty good whether in the buffet or in the restaurant, the beach is very good and clean with ample space, the drinks are strong, the bartenders […] are friendly, the hotel rooms are very good and clean(I had the superior), activities are ample and the staff always is providing entertainment and tries to cater to all crowds. Whether you wish to chill back or do everything you can still have a good time. Couple of minuses are that the liquor is not top shelf and time share staff is almost always out there to give you their presentation. But otherwise you can look forward to a heck of a time and, you should definitely stay for more than 4 days. Keep plenty of singles to tip the staff and cleaning crew. Reserve some activities and restaurants early in the day as some get packed quickly. Also very important to bring a paper copy of your reservation to give at check-in, otherwise they make you email them this before they allow you check-in and wi-fi is very spotty and unreliable. The hotel was nice and I would return with friends to party BUT the bathrooms were horrible and the rooms were below average. The grounds, pool and beach were wonderful, but the food and alcohol were just OK.

We enjoyed very much. Hotel is comfortable and not too noisy, for us was very good. Have good food, nice pools, excellent beach and recreation activities. Has facilities for grandpa and that was great for us. Have a good medical center. We will go again!

We took a vacation of 21 days so overall it was pleasant, there is a lack of restaurant late at night. there is only a pizzeria open so if your hungry pizza and only pizza it is. The location right on the Caribbean is the only good thing this Wyndham has going. The room was not secure, smelled like a toilet bowl, a non working A/C or would only turn on if you opened the door to your room. Not a problem if it stayed running but getting up every hour of the night to cool the room off was ridiculous. The staff was unfriendly, lazy […] and useless. Didn't care to address our concerns with the room. The service in the dining room was horrible. Stayed in a really nice Wyndham in Puerto Plata and expected the same in Bayahibe....extremely disappointed is an understatement. As a matter of fact, it was so bad we video taped our room conditions because it was unbelievable. Can send you the video. The second day our room was finally changed but we spent more time speaking to management then on the beach. This Wyndham needs to get their act together...did I mention the bell hop didn't even want to take our bags to the room he just pointed us in the direction.....don't blame him as our room was practically in the next county. It is the first time I go to this resort with my family and won't come back again. If you get a bungalow room you will here your neighbors as if they were in your own room. Secondly, they don't have refrigerators, you need to request one if it is available. Third, the food is not really good and not labeled, be careful if you have allergies. Fourth, […] the security box is not included, you have to pay $2 per day. Fifth, during off peak season locals are welcome so be careful since it get overcrowded over the weekends. The service was HORRIBLE! The only good thing about our stay this past week was the gorgeous beach. We had to wait 2 days for an iron & ironing board. We also called 2x daily for a remote to the tv & never received one for our whole week stay. How can you have a tv & no remote? Hotel was very nice, service excellent, but the food was horrible. Everything cold, overcooked and a very poor selection of food in the buffet. I would never return to this hotel. They also tried to con me with a very exxpensive time-share scheme.

The hotel Lobby and pools were beautiful. Lines at bars wernt too bad but the drinks all tasted crappy. Food was pretty good at resturaunts. Beach is lovely. Excursion to Catalina island was not worth it. Very expensive for poor snorkelling and guides fed the fish which they are not supposed to do! Biggest disappointment was our room. This is an all […] inclusive and no drinks in our fridge at all. Fridge was rusted. Bed was hard. No lamps in room. Bathroom was the worst. 1. Check in took two hours because you have to have your voucher from hotels.com printed off. If you go here do not forget this. They will not let you use their computers and I had to pay to use a computer to email the voucher to them after a long wait. This was after their wireless internet not working for an hour, and didn't work for the entire stay […] we were there. 2. The food is okay at best. If you want good food don't go to the buffet. Pay more for the other restaurants and you will actually get a little service from the waiters, and maybe even some coffee if you ask for it. 3. The front staff desk were quite rude and overwhelmed. They really should invest in some more that speak English. I speak Spanish and had no problem, but saw many a people struggling with the fact that they could not get any help at all. It is a service industry and if you don't know any Spanish I would not reccommend this hotel. 4. The best part of the hotel was hand made cigar store. If you like good Dominican cigars, check this part of the hotel. out! Overall, wasn't too happy with my stay, but the snorkeling right off the beach was breathtaking. Check it out if you would like to hang out on the beach, have things stolen from the porch of your cabana, and like loud rude Europeans that will put their chair right in front of you to block your beautiful view of the nice blue clear waters. this has been the worst hotel ive ever been too we arrived at the hotel at about 2:45 pm and the room was not ready they asked us to wait until 3pm then they send us to a room which was not even clean yet the bed was not made and there was a leaking refrigerator at the entrance of the room then they asked us to wait around we had to wait until 9:00pm […] and then they gave us a room that had a bad sewer smell and they said they would change us the next day and then the next day they said that they didnt have any other rooms worst plafe to stay Lesa meira

I found some minor short comings in service. For instance tehy would forget small Towels and I would say the food was a bit bland. The reason I say this is I am an Island person and use to my seasoning, but I know they have to try and please every one, not just one group. Also ws not shure if there was any Expedia rep around. If you want to experience the real Dominican Republic this hotel is not the right place. This hotel makes you feel like you were dropped in Italy. All the guests are Italian and most hotel workers only speak Spanish or Italian. I'm fluent in Spanish so it wasn't a problem, but for other Americans it would be a big issue. Customer Service is not good […] at the hotel, you don't get explained anything about the hotel, nor where to find anything. You are basically given a Key and a Bell Boy to take you to the room. WARNING! This resort is 2 hours from Santo Domingo international Airport (SDQ) and the roads are worst than those in Jamaica! Which was a complete surpise. The term "inclusive" means you get a room, buffet and non-motorized water sports, and bottom shelf liquor. If you want to eat at a restaurant or want premium liquors it will cost you $10 at least […] pp or per glass. You must pay for your airport/hotel transfers! BE SURE TO SEE THE EXPEDIA AGENT WHEN YOU ARRIVE! We didn't know this and I'm certain we missed out on some great information, like booking our return transfer back to the airport. This ended up costing $125! Our superior room was basically two beds, a toliet and a tub. The remote control that the front desk gave us didn't have batteries, the lamp didnt have a shade and I had to use a string to keep it turned on. But the biggest disappointment was we simply did not feel welcomed there. It wasn't simply the language difference. The entertainment staff stayed as far away as possible from us. Three nights we were there, and I don't recall any of them ever speaking to us. The hotel manager and guest services seemed to busy too care. We made the best of it and will not let this experience ruin it for everyone there. We will return but will try Punta Cana instead. Lesa meira

Viva Wyndham resort is very nice. My husband and my children were very happy due it is a family oriented resort. Surrounding are fantastic, food was very good and the menu have a full varieties of dishes even if it was in the same restaurant because we needed to make reservations 24 hours before and we did not have so much time to do that. Lunches at […] La Roca Grill were fabulous. Most of activities were in italian and spanish, but I speak spanish and love anything related to Italy. The beach was nice, very busy. Ocean was fantastic. Staff super-friendly, and taking care of their duties. Room was not that great, but everything funtioned accordingly. We wanted to enjoy the outside anyway. Shower and sleep in the room was all we needed. Front office was pleasant. The hotel is clean. We enjoyed the aperitivos on the beach and in the plaza while we were there which is champagne and hord'ovres. Resort offers several activities through the day and night. The gift shop inside the hotel have such great prices that I could not believe for basics and accessories. Gym looked well equipped. Resort have a Mini-Club that children can stay there form 10:00 to 6:00pm with a break for the staff in between which is fair enough. The common areas are very nice and the beach is beautiful. The hotel room was just fine. The bathroom, especially the bathtub, was in poor conditions. The food was average quality. I had never stayed at a resort before but my companion had. It was far beyond what either of us expected. Exceptionally beautiful grounds, beach and water. Pools and bars spread out all over the place. Great music in the "centro" area each night but we always found quiet places around the resort to be alone, day or night. Food was much better than expected, […] although that wasn't an important issue for us. Various restaurants to eat at for a minimal charge ($20.00 to $40.00) for elegant dining. The buffet was very good though with an incredible variety of food a dn they had late night food as well (pizza) and things like that. Mostly europeans (of that mostly Italian, and many French, German and Spanish) so there was a heavy influence of Italian in the food and with cappuccino and espresso served virtually round the clock. Pick up at the airport was great and hotel was not too far away. Front desk service was terrible - no one was courteous or in the least bit helpful. The resort itself was nice and the beach was quite nice. The all-inclusive aspect was very convenient although the food was nothing special (but what do you expect with an all-inclusive)? We had reserved […] a king-size bed but got two full size ones instead. Room was far away from the beach but actually ended up being fine. I read all of the reviews before booking this trip, so I was a little skeptical, but we wound up having a great time. It didn't start out too great though... The front desk clerk looked at us like we were nuts when we told him we were there to check-in. He asked for our voucher. We gave him all the expedia docs we had and he still had to analyze them […] for a while before finally checking us in. They must not believe in lines, because you had to jockey for your turn. not terribly bad, just be prepared. The room cleaning was very spotty with towels. They would take your dirty towels and not leave any. We had to call twice. We also got a tip to hide the tp so they'd leave another roll, or you'd be stuck with none. The food wasn't the best, but not terrible for mass food prep. We ate at the palace about 10 tens, which we found to be a much better experience, but the 11th time we were told we couldn't eat there if we stayed at the beach. We Really Enjoyed: The workers (excluding front desk) The activity crew. The 10pm shows A+ awesome talent (don't miss the Micheal Jackson and Egyptian shows), Trapeze, Rock Climbing, Volleyball, pools, beach, snorkeling Went on the Saona excursion. More of a booze cruise then we would have liked, but we still enjoyed the star fish and the beach We'd go again, but probably won't because so many other places to see Lesa meira

è un hotel molto grande con tanti turisti e il personale non riesce a mantenere la pulizia che ci dovrebbe essere sia nei bar che nei ristoranti. I bungalow avrebbero bisogno di essere rimessi a nuovo perchè hanno un forte odore di umido che si attacca a tutti i vestiti. I cibo è di qualità scadente ed inoltre ci sono delle persone che ti stressano […] per acquistare multiproprietà. Il lato positivo è la posizione meravigliosa su una lunga spiaggia di fronte a un mare stupendo. Animazione fantastica, cibo ottimo e personale molto cordiale, la spiaggia dell'hotel è sicuramente fra le piu belle dell'isola, unica nota dolente le condizioni delle camere che avrebbero bisogno di una ristrutturazione e la pulizia lasciava a desiderare.

Die Anlage selber und der Service, Essen, Animation waren sehr gut. Leider hat der Zustand des Zimmers den Gesamteindruck getrübt. Gebucht war ein "Superiorzimmer"...ich möchte erst gar nicht wissen wie die Standardzimmer aussehen. Auch ein Kritikpunkt an Expedia. Die Zimmerbeschreibung ist hier nicht zutreffend! Es fehlt an der Kaffeemaschine, Minibar […] ist nicht vorhanden, auch der Blick auf den Garten war durch das 3m entfernte Nachbargebäude absolut eingeschränkt. Das Balkönchen kann man nicht als Balkon bezeichnen. Beim Duschen gab es regelmäßige Überschwemmungen (ja sicher wir haben auch den Duschvorhang benutzt), zum Glück hatten wir die Strandhandtücher, die wir als Damm verwenden konnten. Der Zimmerservice kam an einem Tag erst um 17.30... leider konnten wir ihn nicht in Anspruch nehmen, da wir uns für das Abendessen bereits fertig machen wollten. Leider prallt eine Beschwerde immer direkt ab...ich denke mit einer Wand kann man konstruktiver reden. Lesa meira

Nous avons été très décus par cet hotel, le serieux de son personnel n'est plus au rendez vous. Un bon point pour la qualité de sa cuisine et la beauté du site par contre je décommande cet hotel la propreté des chambres est très limite, bref par rapport à quelques années en arrière une forte dégradation.

e suis venue pour la première fois dans le pays il y a 16 ans et je suis tombée amoureuse de ce pays et du peuple dominicain. J'étais dechenchantée lors de mon séjour au Whindam Beach à Bayahibe lorsque au moment de notre arrivée et suivant de modifications et précisions que nous avions fait au moment de notre réservation tout fut des contraintes et […] des "ce ne sera pas possible"... à la récéption le personnel était très professionnel, mais le service de l'hôtel n'était pas à l'hauteur. Nous avions demandés de lits bébés et cela figurait bien sur notre réservation "expedia", mais ils n'avaient pas réçu cette demande et cela avait pris plus de 5 heures à être traité. Je me suis énervée, comme jamais, à ce sujet, et malheureusement tout le séjour à été gâché à cause de ça, car tout le temps on était regardés de travers comme le "chiants" de l'hôtel. Pas très agréable!!! Mais sinon, l'hôtel était très bien et l'endroit sublime. Lesa meira
