"great for shopping and eating"
first I'd like to say that when we arrived at1:30p.m. they told me my room was not ready and they were sorry but we had to wait 25 min. So that was disappointing. Secondly the next day at 9:00a.m. they called me to say that i was to stay one night. meaning i reported in on saturday and i was suppose to leave on the same night. So again I told them that […] I am to report for saturday apri 28 and leave april 29 next morning. Then they said to me well,..okay. This of course was promoted thru expedia of which i enrolled on line the day before. So i was not very content with the outcome because their lack of with their employees. "Bad, bad stay"
We requested a 2 bed, non-smoking room. Upon opening the door to our assigned room, the smell of the room was seeping out. We literally stepped in, then right back out, the cigarette reek was so bad. We went to the front desk and reqeusted a different room, which we did get. The girl at the desk assured us that the previous room was smoke-free, which […] there was no way, as that room smelled like someone had been smoking in it for the last 20 years. We walked down to the new room, and upon opening the door, found that someone was already assigned to that room. Went back to the front desk, explained to the girl that the room was occupied, and requested another room. The 3rd room still had a STRONG cigarette smell, but by then we gave up on trying to get a "non-smoking" room. I will never stay here again and would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone. Lesa meira
The first 3 days - I think the personnel misunderstood a message I gave them. I arrived late on a Tuesday and was not scheduled to be at my first business location until the following day in the afternoon. I told the front desk that my room would not need cleaning on Wednesday. However, Thursday it wasn't cleaned or Friday either. I was off Saturday […] and made a comment and then it was cleaned. my husband is in a wheel chair and we often have trouble getting around handicap rooms. Our room at RedRoof Inn had lots of room and was easy to get around. The bathroom was also very spacious. Will without a doubt stay there again.

I enjoyed the saty at the Red Roof Inn, in Michigan City, IN. I liked the fact that the front desk clerk (Kim), made sure that the room I stayed in had good WIFI reception. There was a refrigerator and microwave in the room. Being an coffee drinker a single cup coffee maker inthe room would have been nice, (help to jump start the morning). "Webster's Protection Bags in Chicago IL"
I thought the Red Roof Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful if you needed anything they were there make sure that I had it. The only suggestion I have is, all the rooms need updated Tv's (flat screen) in them. The room I was in, the television wasn't that great. Have great day. Best regard, Connie

Motel was located near the highway. Walking distance from many resturants. Easy to drive from the areas attractions. Priced right for our one night stay.

I have stayed in a few Red Roof Inns and I know they are not the Ritz but this one was severely lacking in amentities (no kleenex?). An odd thing also was that there was a safe in the room but no hairdryer or pictures on the wall for that matter! A microwave, refrig or a coffeemaker would definitely be out of the question! The bed was quite old and […] uncomfortable and it is quite obvious the owners have not put any $$ into improvements for some time. The door was such a poor fit that the wind made the kind of noise from a Hollywood movie. We were very on happy to have some drunk men in front of our door making all kind of noise, in the morning all kinds of paper cups and papers thrown around in the front of the grass. We know it was new year but, still that was on call for they acted like children with no respect at 4;30 A.M. We will think about are next stay.

The room was perfect for what we were needing. The next door room had some rather loud visitors, beating on their door & yelling, But, that stopped finally before we had to call the office. It was perfectly located for our shopping excursion!!!

"Very convenient"
The hotel was easy to get to from the freeway. The only downside about our stay was that there was someone arguing with very loud voices most of the night other than that we had an okay stay.

"Good deal for the money"
I didn't expect luxury for how much I paid for the room. It was clean and everything worked. Desk staff was nice. It was near everything so we were able to just walk to dinner.

If you need a great rate and a clean room this is the place. If your into amenities and require much personal attention you might look elsewhere. Room clean, people very nice, location close to I-20
"Conveniently located right off I-94"
Cheap hotel. No coffee in room. Not the worst "inexpensive" hotel but certainly not the best either. Maintenance leaves a lot to be desired! Close to shopping and plenty of eateries!
It was a nice enough hotel for our purpose, which was to stop and stay briefly and wake up to continue our trip. For the price, it was worth it.

The check in went very smoothly no problems no extra charges the room was okay . We stayed two nights. The second day we left and when we returned housekeeping did not make up the beds they left wet towels on one of the beds. The only thing that they did was empty the trash. I did not expect clean sheets but at least make the beds and do not throw the […] dirty towels on the bed and leave them. For the price you get what you pay for. I will in the future find something a little better,cleaner and better housekeeping. Even if that means paying more for the room. Lesa meira
"Not a good experience at the Red Roof"
The reviews before we booked there were ok, but we knew it wasn't fancy nor did we expect it to be. However, they need a team to come in and get the challenges fixed. All night long, someone was doing laundry two doors down from our room and every time they opened or shut a washer or dryer door, it made huge clanging sound-we were told the laundry staff […] had been fired or quit, so that is why. We had to ask for towels, since we didn't get many. There was a pair of men's shorts left in our room, which made me wonder about the housekeeping. The tub did not drain much and we had to wait between showers for the water to go down. The staff seemed stressed and unsupported. This was not a good experience. Lesa meira
"Yuck"
Yet another "non-smoking" room that smelled like a casino ashtray. The curtains and the comforters had holes and stains in them, and the ceiling seemed to have some water damage. There were spiders in the bathroom, as well. We only received one set of towels, even though our reservation clearly said that there were three people in our room, and the […] shampoo came in a little ketchup packet. I had to chase down a cleaning woman to get more towels and shampoo, and I had to go to the front desk to get a hairdryer and iron. The other guests all looked like they had been kicked out of their apartments or had been hitch-hiking. All in all, I don't have high expectations for a 'budget' motel, but I've stayed in far better places for much less. Lesa meira
"No frills"
This hotel is fine for a one night stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and a microwave and fridge were available. There is no hair dryer, in-room coffee pot, iron, or bath mat. That really isn't too important to us, so it wasn't a big deal. Breakfast is not offered at this hotel, but there is coffee in the lobby and a Bob Evans […] restaurant is across the street. This hotel is older, but in fairly good condition. Lesa meira
"Convenient and Inexpensive Stay"
Easy to find right off of I-94, room was fairly basic but clean. Kids watched family guy on the TV and we went to sleep. The bed was VERY comfortable! One suggestion would be more bath towels (there were 2 and we had 3 guests...) Other than that, a decent room at a decent price!

Apparently the computers were down when we stayed here... We were given a key to a room that someone else was already in. Then, the worker took us down to the next door room, where the lights were off and the curtains were drawn, and she knocked to see if it was occupied, resulting in the occupants getting woke up at 11:00 p.m. After that, the worker […] went around searching for a room that was vacant, which was nice of her. Finally, we got a room that was vacant. The room was pretty good except for the sheets on the beds were a little damp... Not the girls fault that the computers were down, but we had to wait for about 25 minutes to get into a room, and people were woke up in the process. Lesa meira
"Simple Hotel, nothing special, but comfortable bed"
We got this room because it was the cheapest option for the location as we were traveling through Michigan City between Iowa and Ontario. We like the location, a lot of good restaurants nearby and it's only 10 minutes to the beach and the state park. The hotel itself is not special, it's a simple room. "Red Roof Inn - Fine for the price"
We're two poor college students so the red roof inn was fine for us. Reasonably priced and reasonably comfortable. It's convenient too. Right by the highway.

It is a good 2 star hotel. Very Clean, close to the main roads, avenues and places of interest in Michgan City. Reasonable rates. Good for a short stay of one to two days.
"Acceptable"
The first non-smoking room we entered, reaked of smoke. We asked to change rooms and were quickly accomidated. The second room was truly smoke free. We checked the mattress for evidence of bed bugs and found nothing.

For the price it's a good value. It is a basic hotel without a pool or any other ammenities.
The room was comfortable and clean. Needed to be updated at little but that really didn't affect our stay. Well soundproofed, couldn't hear the neighbors.

i really wasn't expecting more than a marginally clean room and a horribly uncomfortable bed. I was pleasantly surprised that the room was clean, it was a smoking room but smelled fresh. "Nice rooms"
The hotel room was very clean except the toliet. It wasn't dirty but had had brown water stains in the bowl. That did not look good. I brought it to the attention of the desk manager and they said they would look into it. The hotel is located right off hwy. 94 and walking distance to restaurants and down the street from many stores. The Blue Chip Casino […] is 10 minutes away. Very easy to get to from the hotel. "NOT FOR VACATION"
If you were a trucker or on a work crew it would would be good . For a weekend getaway it was not exactly what I thought it would be.
