Things I liked about my stay at Extended Stay America - Columbia - Gateway Drive: - the garden area outside was very well kept and welcoming; - the reception staff were friendly and helpful; - the room was generously sized, clean and well-furinished; - free WiFi in the room worked well, if a little slow; - it is in a quiet location and I didn't have […] any problems with noise on any of the 3 nights of my stay. Things I didn't like: - on entering the room, my nose was assailed with the overpowering smell of fried curry spices. I know that the hotel management can't control what guests cook in their room but I would have expected the service staff to have taken steps to remove the odors; - during my 3 night stay, my room wasn't serviced once (the bed wasn't made up fresh, there was no cleaning of the bathroom and no vacuuming); - a bit more variety in the grab-and-go breakfast would be welcome (muffins, cereal bars and fruit eveyr morning gets rather boring). Overall though, my stay was good value for money and I'd consider staying there again if in Baltimore on business. Lesa meira

Our room had an awful smell. We had to open the window and let the air condition run. Also had stains on the bed spread. No shampoo, no clean towels

This hotel was convenient and looks nice. The rooms are big and the full kitchen, though not necessary for our one night stay, is really nice. There were not too many supplies in the kitchen, but, we didn't need them. The issue is the smell of the hotel. It was VERY musty in the lobby and the room was almost unbearable. I was not aware that the room was a smoking room - as I asked for a non smoking room - and it wasn't exactly a smoke smell - but the moldy, musty odor was really problematic. The rooms are spacious. The staff was courteous. On the day/night I stayed the room was missing a trash can and the cleaning staff was unavailable when needed.

Location was good for the M3 Festival. Room had a kitchenette. Smoking room didn't smell of smoke. The only negative was no housekeeping.

The hotel was close enough to the Merriweather Pavilion, about 10 miles I'm guessing. We had a full kitchen and sitting area, very nice room! One thing they told us was they have no maintenance on the weekends. It was fine for us because we had no issues, but I thought what if the a/c goes out and the rooms are full? This was one of the cleanest hotels I have stayed in. It has been recently renovated, and looks nice. The staff was helpful, and printed directions to a local library for me. It's not far from a variety of stores and places to eat. I do recommend this hotel.

This hotel, although fine once I found it had two huge negatives:1.Logo only in this executive partk. No indication it was Extended Stay. Arriving after dark, I had no idea the hotel was up the road on the hill. Went to another Extended Stay and was directed badk. Not easy with a late checik-in.2. When I finally arrived, they only had smoking rooms […] available, although my Hotel.com reservation stated non-smoking. Could not have been any closer to my destination, plus the nearby restaurants were within walking distance and were quite good. While very convenient to have a refrigerator in the room, the hole between the kitchen and the bedroom made the refrigerator noise very available to the guest while sleeping or watching TV from the bed... unfortunate.

The hotel is in an industrial park, and one must drive a good distance for Walmart or food or drink. The is worn looking, but the room is large, being a studio. The halls are dreary and the place smells like smoke, even the non-smoking rooms.

Sparsely supplied kitchen (extended-stay-type hotel). Sofa was grungy, springs pretty much shot, and I was afraid to sit on it due to dirt factor --- placed a towel on the seat. Bed was fine. I have stayed at this hotel before and had a good experience. This room was not the same as I had before, which was a bit disappointing. I booked for the kitchen and this room did not have a dishwasher. There were no hangers when we checked in and no hair dryer. They did provide one on request. This hotel was pretty sparse as amenities go, and walls and ceilings were very thin. The occupant upstairs seemed to have a need to get up at 3 am and stomp around, turn the TV up loud, and take a shower. My room was a no smoking room, and seemed ok when I checked in. the front desk had briefed me that the front desk was not 24/7 and rattled off a number to call after hours. Since I had my backpack in one hand, and suitcase in the other, and no paper at hand, that was not useful information. turned out it might have been useful. About midnight, some […] sort of very loud party started in the room next door. it went on until about 4 am. there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke in my room during that time. I though of complaining to the front desk, but remembered that they weren't there, so it would be pointless. I guess the loudmouths in the next room knew the front desk would be closed too, so they were uncontrolled. I stayed one night, due to work requirements. I got card keys and went to the room, found no one had cleaned it after the previous guest left. It was a big mess!! Called the front desk and they asked me to come back to them and gave me another room key. The other room was OK, but the carpet was very dirty. This is a basic efficiency with kitchenette, in a corporate complex. Spartan but very convenient when visiting businesses in Columbia. The building itself is a bit grim but suited to the purpose. No restaurant or pool, but it has a fitness room with machines. One outside door had a broken latch. They charge a one-time-per-stay fee for WiFi.
