Even though the staff was friendy and had a pretty decent breakfast, the room smelled awful!! very bad neighborhood, not appropiate for my little kids.... I asked for a non-smoking room. I assumed that it was, but the smell of smoke from the other rooms was so overwhelming that it affected my asthma. The workers were smoking outside of the door. The room that I stayed in smelled like smoke and mildew. They could not put me in another room because they were all booked. The staff handed me a spray bottle of some strong chemicals and told me to open the windows and spray it on the carpets, etc. The spray did not help and now all of my clothes smell like smoke. Gross. Very close to 10 freeway just outside of Lafayette. Rooms are all accessible from within hotel, adding a higher level of security. Rooms very clean and comfortable; shower only, no bathtub, and no refrigerator or microwave, but perfectly adequate otherwise. Pretty quiet, too, considering proximity to freeway.
