Hótel var miðsvæðis, frábær staðsetning allt í göngu færi. fullt af góðum matsölustöðum, verslunarmiðstöð á bakvið, lestarstöðin hinumegin við götuna. Eina sem var hægt að finna að, var morgunverðurinn mátti vera fjölbreyttari, en kornflekks & ristað brauð með osti eða skinku, t.d. fleirri áleggstegundir

Við fjölskyldan sem telur hjón og tvö stálpuð börn 18 og 21 vorum alsæl með allt í tengslum við þetta hótel. Herbergi fín, starfsfólkið alveg frábært og bara í alla staði allt perfect. Mæli klárlega með þessu hóteli

"Central location"
Very central location close to shops and tourist attractions. Clean, efficient service with average decor. Many of the guests were families with small children and so quite noisy, you may prefer a boutique hotel for a more romantic occasion. Underground parking is expensive at £17 per day. "Great location, great service, tired rooms"
This hotel was great for the purpose, though I think the price for a room is too high considering the tiredness of the rooms. Certainly not up to a very high standard. Everything else was great. Slap bang in the middle of York, service was excellent, breakfast was good quality. The only let down was the average rooms. "Not as the Hiltons used to be"
The Hotel staff was pleasant and the location is ideal for central York. The hotel itself although modern could do with a thorough clean the restaurant although on the surface appears clean on closer inspection dirty ventilation ducts and grease on the ceiling and cobwebs around lights etc. can be seen. Our room although the main bedroom was clean I […] have never stayed at a hotel with such a filthy window, the frame and sill was absolutely filthy including mould on the frame and sealing beads. We opted for the breakfast which again was disappointing the mushrooms were tinned and the bacon cold, complete with dried out and over cooked Black Pudding. The next morning we just had cereal and toast and later enjoyed a Sunday dinner elsewhere. I’m not saying I wouldn’t stay again but I would look at other Hotels available in the area. Lesa meira

York is a lovely city. Hilton was in a great location, walking distance from everything. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Room was great and the breakfast is good :)

Everyone was very friendly. They have a great restaurant and we enjoyed our meal there on the first night. There are nearby restaurants and the cathedral is only a 10 minute walk. The only issue was that we found the beds a little hard and the room a little warm (but actually this was true of all the hotels in the UK). Otherwise it was modern and inviting. "The Hilton Hotel York"
Hotel in great location, all staff very friendly and helpful, a clean and modern hotel with lots to offer. Would reccommend to others and will also stay here again, Breakfast was amazing!
We had excellent service & a great room. The hotel was in a central and yet quieter location. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The evening meal was not great in the restaurant, but this wouldn't stop us retuning here.

While the staff were extremely helpful the provisions of the hotel were disappointing. Our upgraded room actually allowed us to have two suitcases in it but was over the delivery bay so was noisy from 6/6.30am every morning but had a lovely view of Cliffords Tower. Our daughter was in a standard room and only just had room for a suitcase. No free Wi-fi […] access. No complimentary water. "Restaurant"/burger chain that was recommended everywhere in the hotel was truly aweful. Given that it was Christmas season and there seemed to be some problems with supplies the reduced menu was badly presented with burned nachos with questionable bacon and chips that had obviously been cooked in very old oil. "Good quality hotel as you'd expect from Hilton"
Across the road from Clifford's Tower and situated in the Castle area of the city, it has all the usual amenities you'd expect from a Hilton hotel. Other guests mentioned parking and wi-fi are expensive, but we didn't use either so can't comment. Breakfast, service, room size and cleanliness were all excellent, we enjoyed our stay.

"Stay at Hilton York good location"
Stayed @ Hilton York,good location close to town centre,a few little issues with hotel i.e tear in curtains dust in rooms,lipstick on drinking glass in room. Food excellent,issues were small and to be fair we did not report them,we would not let them put us off staying here again.

As a first time visitor to York, the Hilton was the perfect introduction to a beautiful city. I've never felt so accommodated to, having been allowed to check in early, which was wonderful. The only downfall was the noisy people next door, but that was no fault of the hotel. Brilliant hotel, would stay there again in a second!

"Convenient location"
My wife and I booked into the Hilton York for our anniversary celebration (six years if you are interested). We found the hotel clean and the staff warm and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful. We arrived late at night and did not realise until the morning that we had an excellent view of York castle tower. The room was adequate for […] our needs with a small bathroom (30 sq ft), TV, radio, tea and coffee making facilities, which were replenished daily, hanging and drawer space and a king size bed, which was very comfortable. Like most hotels the bar prices were high. Another point to watch out for in the room is the 1 ltr bottle of mineral water that costs an arm and a leg. The hotel is just a few minutes from York city centre (unless you have my sense of direction) and York is a great city break destination with plenty to visit and see. I fully recommend the Hilton as a base for your visit and York is well worth a visit. Lesa meira

Really enjoyed our stay in York.We stayed for my fathers 80th birthday.Had a lovely time,location was fantastic ! food in hotel was lovely.We will stay again on our next visit to York.

I often stay at the Hilton Hotel York and will continue to do so (do want to try the Cedar Court though with it being a 5 Star - but just need to justify paying the price!)... Can't fault the Hilton though. It's not luxury, but it's a good standard and ticks all the boxes! Location could not be better - and the underground car parking is a bonus. I […] did not book breakfast on the booking site - but added this on at the hotel and seemed to get a better deal, which included parking. Parking is expensive - but it is York and it's expensive everywhere. Reception and car parking staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good ... but it's like a lot of hotels - go for breakfast towards the end of the sitting and things are winding down and tables are missing things. Can't fault the food though. "The Hilton York - very engaged and a bit worn"
What impressed us mostly was the engagement and efficiency of the staff, be it the breakfast team under pressure or in the bar, where you can find bar-keepers which explain the highlights of their domain with bright eyes. The quality of the rooms was a bit under 4 star standard, but that did not matter much for us. More important was the central position […] of the hotelt inside the city walls. "HILTON YORK WOULD NOT STAY AGAIN"
My husband and 2 children ( who are young adults) stayed here recently to celebrate my husband's birthday. We arrived at the hotel at 6pm and were a bit surprised to see a lot of people smoking outside the front of the hotel, it really did not give a positive impression, however the reception staff were efficient and polite. The room (a double double) […] was very small for 4 people and the bathroom miniscule. We went to our room and changed for the evening and then visited Henry j Beans which is affiliated to the hotel , dont go here, food very poor and service even worse, their excuse 'it was a saturday!' We returned to the hotel and were greeted by a hoard of people still smoking and blocking the front door. We fought our way through and were greeted by people smoking in the lobby who were also very intimidating with their behaviour. We were looking to have a nightcap in the bar, this was almost inaccessible due to the large group of people at the entrance. We decided against it and retired to bed. We slept til 12am and were then kept up for the most of the night with other guests running up and down the corridor shouting etc. My husband got up early to feed the car park meter across the road from the hotel ( dont park your car here before 6pm however after this time it is £2 til 8am the next morning) cheaper than the hotel car park. He was greeted in the stairwell by cigarette butts and the staff hastily trying to clean it. We went down to breakfast and the stench of cigarrette smoke was prevalent in the stairwell. This hotel does not appear to offer a smoking area outside of the rooms for its guests therefore on this occassion it would appear they smoked where they liked. On the plus side, breakfast was delightful and the breakfast staff were lovely. the hotel manager has apologised on behalf of the hotel and also on behalf of the other guests? Nevertheless we are sorry to say that we will not stay here again as we were unable to fully enjoy the experience . Other Lesa meira

Only one Gripe about the Hilton in York,we had a twin room,at our request,but whoever designed the rooms,forgot that the main criteria for a stay in a Hotel is a Good nights sleep,and the way to get a good nights sleep is to have a good quality Bed,my single bed mattress was awful,almost nothing between the stitching,as soon as I sat or laid upon it,it […] collapsed and the hard wood slats could be felt.A GOOD QUALITY MATTRESS AND PILLOWS ARE OF PRIME IMPORTANCE.But the breakfast and other aspects of the hotel made up for it. we stayed here for a night in july for my birthday, couldn't fault this hotel at all, staff we so lovely and nice, couldn't do enough to help you with anything, breakfast was very nice and tasty, bedrooms were clean, nicely decorated, and very comfortable. will be returning to this hotel for our next visit to york...we really enjoyed our stay the only […] complaint is the prices of drinks in the hotel, but there is free tea and coffee in your room.... "Excellent location..."
This hotel is in a very convenient location to all of the attractions of interest and literally across the street from the fabulous Castle Museum. I was travelling with two kids and the ability to have a double bed and a single in the same room was very convenient. We walked to the hotel from the train station (please don't do that) - it took us 50 […] minutes to drag our luggage across the cobbled streets only to find out it would have only cost us 5 pounds to take an 8 minute cab ride. (live and learn) The buffet breakfast offered by the hotel was superb and was included in the booking we made online. The only thing that was really annoying was that the rooms did not have WI-FI and we had to pay 5 pounds in their business center to use the internet for a couple of minutes so that we could print a groupon voucher. "The Hilton York- convenient central location"
Hotel was easy to find and in a great central location. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Food was of a superb standard in the hotel restaurant and great cocktails in the bar & grill located at the side of the hotel. The only negative was the room was dusty, it needed a good dust and hoover. Ideal hotel for a weekend getaway.

Chose Hilton as it had a weekend offer but also as its known for quality. York is a small town and location was walking distance to most main tourist sites, so much so it was opposite one of them! Breakfast had a great range and the staff are very welcoming.

Hilton York hotel is convenient location and a nice hotel however during our stay there was lots if noise / banging doors etc early hours of morning
"York Hilton"
Billed as a four star hotel, the York Hilton is in a fantastic location within the walls of this ancient city. We were using this as an overnight stay enroute to our final destination in Scotland and very much looking forward to spending a short time in York. The hotel room was fitted out in the usual Hilton style but badly needs updated - it had a […] very dated feel and as such, felt that it didn't justify the hefty price tag. We dined in the restaurant on our arrival - very disappointing. A rare steak was requested and still not delivered after two attempts (the same happened to some neighbouring diners). It was dealt with well by the waiting staff, but should not have happened in the first place. Overall, staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean but struggles to justify exorbitant rates.
