"Old and poorly maintained and bad service at the c"
We booked two rooms and one room Wasn't ready even at 9 pm。 we had to change room and ended up settling down at 930pm , 8 hours after checking in. The service staff apologists and offered to complimentary drinks but they never follow up! No vouchers and no letters of apology during our five day stay! We had problem with flush and shower which was too […] hot as thermostat was faulty. Water turns murky sometimes . However we were impressed by the breakfast crew and the guys at the concierge who are very good friendly and professional . Overall, not worth the price as rooms are too Small and old and not well maintained. Lesa meira

Great service from very helpful staff. Opposite Edgware Rd tube station for quick and easy access to the sights. Excellent breakfast even when very busy. Rooftop bar worth a visit for the views of London at night.

Elaborate lobby and dining areas. Very basic room for a Queen Deluxe Plus and disappointing. Extremely noisy location with sirens heard all night....literally. Excellent variety for breakfast but queues to get in. Hotel close to tube and convenient.

We booked this hotel for a weekend break. It's location is good as it's on the main Bakerloo line just a few stops from Piccadily Circus. We purchased an oyster card for the underground which I highly recommend!! no hassle and no worries of queuing & buying tickets. Hotel was very nice, room modern and spacious. The pool, steam room and sauna very good. […] Friendly staff, good food. The duty manager helped me with online checkin and printing boarding cards. great! "Best luxurious stay in London"
We only stayed for 2 nights at the hotel and managed to get a very good offer for it. Location is okay and very near to tube stations and bus stops. By bus, it took us less than 10 minutes to get to Oxford street. My wife and 2 young children really enjoyed the hotel. The room space was sufficiently comfortable for us, clean and does have a 5 star feel […] to it. Service from the staff was top notch, extremely helpful, warm and friendly. Made our stay there very welcomed indeed. Our only complaint about the room was that the heating system was a let down for a 5 star hotel. It was quite chilly (at the height of winter) and we had to wear a couple of clothing layers in order to feel warm enough to get a good night sleep. Will consider returning for our next winter holiday in London but hope the hotel does something about the heating system by then. Oh, another thing - the (wired) internet connection in the room is not free. Had to pay 15 Quid for 24 hr use. Wonder why a 5 star hotel could not provide such facility for gratis when others (even the less starred ones) can do so. Well, that makes it 2 complains then. Lesa meira

Reception areas were a bit tired but our room was in good condition and had adequate space (although we were upgraded to an executive room). Great location for those arriving intoPaddington - just a short walk away.

When we checked in the woman at the front desk asked us if we wanted to upgrade to a more expensive room and check in then as opposed to later. We accepted but our room smelled of fish from the moment we entered it. The hotel tried to alleviate the problem on several occasions to no avail. The hotel is well located, near Oxford Street. The recepcionist who checked us in was very nice (unfortunatelz I don't remember her name...). The buffet breakfast was excellent, the restaurant was fully booked but the staff was well organised and always with a big smile. A mainly tourist hotel next to Edgware Road tube which makes it great for getting to central London. The area the hotel is in however has little of interest to offer and is pretty grubby. The room (superior exec?) was small with cheap ugly furniture and pictures - possibly the ugliest most depressing hotel room I've ever stayed in. great staff lovely room - just a tad too from shops / bars but cant fault hotel.
Rooms small but comfortable and location is great, close to 2 tube stops but can walk to Hyde Park and Oxford street. Only issue is cost of internet!!! should be free but certainly not 15 POUNDS per 24 hours- ridiculous. But luckily an internet cafe is a block away.
Very good service at front-desk and they upgraded me since I was a hilton club member:)

Excellent stay... but huge queue for breakfast that is unacceptable in a four star hotel - I know it's a huge place and on the whole the staff and standard of service are first class... but a quese of twenty people in the hall way for a four star hotel IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!
"Good bones -- poor management"
This Hilton has all of the basics and could be a good place to stay with better management. Every problem encountered involved a struggle to resolve. Instead of the management team committing itself to customer service, it promoting general policies that made no sense,defended its failure to fulfill basic requirements and looked for opportunities to […] nickel and dime its customers. In addition, the comfort of the bed was severely lacking. The rooms were small (not unexpected in London) but adequate and the facilities were generally nice. Just a little consideration by the staff and an effort to go the extra mile would make the difference in being simply an adequate place to stay and memorable hotel experience (minus the bed of course). I would not recommend this hotel unless other more favorably rated hotels were unavailable. Lesa meira

Everything is wonderful, except the sink and bathtub in the room is draing very slowly. I was standing in a foot of water when I am done showering. Someone from the Hotel did attend to the problem, but was not able to fix it right away. Across the street from Edgware Road Underground Station on Circle Line. Geat view from hotel room. it is one of the […] tallest building in the area. Breakfast in the hotel is excellent. Lots of nice little restaurant and pubs in the area. "Tiny room for two big guys"
My mate and I decided to have a lad's night out in London and booked into the Metropole as a treat. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and allocated a room. When I opened the door, it was a great disappoinment. Two very small single beds in a room which was at a very peculiar angle - obviously cut out of two former rooms. It was poky, there was no kettle […] for the hot drinks tray - when I enquired at Reception, I was told that one would be provided. It never happened. For 2 grown men, the room was very small. Right next to the Edgware tube station, close to most central destinations reachable by tube. Friendly service, clean room. Didn't try the breakfast. Excellent reception at check-in. - No free wifi, concierge could not answer specific questions about borough market (which is understandable). Overall a nice, clean, quiet and relaxing experience.

The only problem we had was the internet connection. Website stated there is a business center which is usually free and one can check email. Business center was closed for renovation and only way to check email was to either purchase connection to internet from hotel at 15 Pounds/24 hours or by the hour from a Costa. Very clean room. Great size for a family of four. Two children were able to comfortably share one of the double beds. Taxis were readily available at the hotel entrance and the underground subway or tube station was about a two minute walk away. Not close to the well-known tourist attractions of London, which were what my family and I travelled to see […] but the proximity of Edgware Road Underground Station and the availability of taxis completely makes up for that. West wing - The location of this hotel is great, within zone 1 and literally opposite 2 tube stations. The main reception is welcoming and clean however staying in a hilton you expect the rooms to be of a high standard and they just weren't. The furniture was in need of repair and it was aged, all of the tv channels didnt work and it was extremely cold […] even with the heating on. However with its faults, if you are only staying for one night I believe the location makes up for it and it is clean just not the best condition. Lesa meira
We were very pleased with hotel. They allowed us in the room early as we were going to a matinee. Also let us collect luggage later . Only one slight complaint fridge was not working. would definately stay again and would recommend it to others
"NOT A FOUR STAR HOTEL"
The rooms at the Hilton are old and small. We were upgraded to a Queen deluxe room which turned out to be a small room!The springs on the bed were gone and the door on the bathroom was an off white old door. However, staff were excellent and it is in a good location.

The room i got was cramped and very small. You had to pay a fee to use the hotel minibar for storing your own items ?? The hotell breakfast was awfull. Fat bacon and powder based scrambled egg ( not taste ). Just really bad quality
A really nice hotel that gives excellent. The breakfast are continental an contains a lot of choices, for example fresh fruit and you own made omelett. This was our second stay at this place and it a natural choice due to the close distance to pretty much anywhere. Walk to Oxford street and shop then walk back to the hotelroom and leave the bags then […] walk back again =) We i'll stay here next year again! This was a room for 4 people Lesa meira

Good hotel well located. Great breakfast buffet even though you have to be early during weekends otherwise you have to queu. Near underground station and close to almost everything in city. Overall we are very satisfied. /Family from Stockholm

Good location with tube station across the road. Nice room with a city view. We did not pre-book breakfast as we.thought it was expensive but on check-in was offered a discount. This was well worth it the breakast was lovely. Would definately stay there again.
