When planning a trip Venice we were advised not to stay in or very close to Venice. So we decided on this hotel only 30 min drive to Venice. And we hit the jackpot. This hotel is royalty. The garden surrounding the hotel is HUGE and very romantic. The hotel is like nothing else. It’s more like a mansion. The room was very big, more like a suite. I could not believe the elegance for this price. The whole time we stayed there I was expecting someone to slap me in the face and charge me three times more. We are still amazed by value for our money. It’s like something from the TV show bachelor. Highly recommended.

San Marco (St Mark’s) is quintessential visitors’ Venice. The Piazza San Marco, famous for its pigeons, campanile, basilica, Palazzo Ducale (Doge’s Palace) and expensive cafes, is unmissable. The waterfront views are legendary and more gondolas depart from here than anywhere else in the city. In season the Piazza teems with day trippers though just a block or two away streets are quiet and offer more museums and palaces to explore.

This hotel is in a wonderful location and the staff was helpful and welcoming. We were traveling with teen and adult children and had plenty of space --including two delightful bathrooms. The sofa bed was not particularly comfortable, but the bed in the master was great. The only negative I can think of is that we got the hard sell (from three different […] staffers) to take advantage of the "free" boat trip across the lagoon to watch glass blowing..and buy buy buy. "horrible value for the buck"
we have paid a lot for this hotel (really a lot) and expected to have a good service at least, but here you go: the front desk receptionist are sooooo rude, they treat you like you paid nothing for your stay, and its their way or no way bell man is available in certain times only, hotel management may close from 11pm to 8am with no service or even emergency […] responses AT ALL bath room is old equipped and looking poor overall this hotel is all about your buck, no one care about the good service or at least give you what you have paid for, i strongly don't recommend this hotel to anyone. "Great location!"
WiFi was only available on a two positions "place" in the middle of a corridor on first floor. It was very inconvenient as I needed to update data every day. Also the bathroom wasn't very comfortable. The shower spilled water everywhere.

Most hotels in Venice are slightly challenging to get to . The location was in a corner, which worked out fine, as it was a quiet street, a block away from the square. "The best hotel in Venice for families !"
The best hotel in Venice for families ! Big and clean rooms , less than a minute from Piazza S.Marco , good service . The breakfast is very (!) expensive and it's cost 15 euro per person and you get a less than a nice breakfast . In the check-In they told us that we got a private sailing in a bout in Venice for free - what they didn't told us that this […] is a sail to the glass shop of Murano .. it's was nice but in the way back the sailer stopped in the other side of the main island of venice and we didn't know that , so we walked a hour in that very hot day until we found the way to the hotel - so stay far away from this sail if you don't know venice well ! For conclusion - The hotel is the best for families in Venice , for this sail ruined that all and we chacked-out with a very bad taste . Lesa meira

Hard to find at first, but really not far from Piazza San Marco. The canal outside the hotel is convenient for gondola rides, but has a bit of an odor which does not enter the hotel. Overall, very nice property. The offer of 50 Euro per person for breakfast is pretty extreme. "San Marco Palace - great stay"
Great location, one street off the San Marco square. Beautiful rooms, large enough to stay with 2 adults and 2 kids. Nice and helpful people. We went to Venice by car. You can park your car in any of the parking buildings right when you get into Venice across the long bridge. From there take a public boat to the San Marco square. It's a bit of a walk […] from where the boat drops you off to the hotel and you have to ask directions several times - but it's worth it. I would definitely stay here again. Lesa meira

"Enchanting"
The hotel staff couldn't have more helpful. The location was just off San Marco Square on a side canal, but tucked away so that it was quiet during the very busy tourist season. EVERTHING was with in walking distance. We had a two room suite. My wife and I were one bedroom and the three teenagers with us were in another great room, with TV and kitchen […] efficiency. The one bathroom was huge for European standards. I can't imagine anyone having a better overall experience. Lesa meira

"Wonderful hotel"
This hotel is well worth the money that we spent. We took our 2 girls, who are 18, on holiday with us and we had a quad suite. It was a nicely appointed room, great Air Conditioning, which we needed in Venice in June. The location couldn't have been better...just 75 yards from San Marco Square. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. The breakfast […] that was included was much more than a continental breakfast. They served everything except eggs to order. The had WiFi available at no charge if you have your own computer....but also offer WiFi for a fee if you use their computer. We stayed 3 days and wished we could have stayed a week. The day we were leaving, we had a later flight to the airport and wanted a late check out. They were completely booked, so they didn't allow us to stay in our room, but they locked up our baggage so we could have lunch and not drag our bags with us. They also coordinated our water taxi back to the airport. This is a wonderful hotel and I would highly recommended it! Lesa meira
Bokat svit men blev först visade till elegant men mycket litet rum. Flyttades genast till svit när vi påtalade missnöje. Sviten var OK. Frukostbuffén var ganska medelmåttig. Personalen vänlig och hjälpsam.
bof ..!! pour l accueil c est pas terrible.... on est des touristes.... on a l impression de les ennuyer des que l on demande un renseignement ou un service, pour les chambres : volet qui ne s ouvre pas salle de bain limite.... petit dejeuner sans histoire... emplacement ideal pour les amoureux des endroits touristiques^^.... boutiques de souvenirs […] et restaurants pour touristes... pour les bon restaurants compter 3/4 d heure de marche... maintenant il faut reconnaitre que c est pas chere ?!?... le 4 etoiles n est peut etre pas necessaire ... "This is a hotell for smokers"
We got room/suite 222 on the second floor. Totally ok, but wait what's this smell.. Everything in the room stank of an old tobacco smell. We couldn't change the room, cause the hotel was packed we were told & they sent the cleaning lady with some air refreshner that didn't help & she said all suites smelled the same. Nothing helped for the 2 nights […] we stayed. Keep away. Location, suite, nothing make up for the stinky room. Lesa meira
"San Marco Palace - meget sentralt"
The hotel was very good located in the middle of Venice. The suite was nice and clean. We asked the staff twice to fix the safe in the room, but they didn't care to check it. The internet access and the doorlock didn't work. The breakfast was crowded but good

Wir waren vom Hotel allgemein enttäuscht. Das Zimmer, resp. die Suite war zwar riesig, aber sehr alt und vernachlässigt. Die Aussicht entweder auf einen schmutzigen Innenhof oder auf eine Wand. Die Suite war sehr schlecht aufgeteilt und entsprach überhaupt nicht einem 5-Sterne Hotel. Kein Internet Point im ganzen Hotel!
