Clean, everything worked. Nothing particularly bad or great. The neighborhood was a mix of mall, business, residential. A few decent restaurants around the area. The staff had no written lists of restaurants...the one we found was one mentioned verbally. That's never a good way to give info to a tourist. They should have a printed list.

"Great place!"
If you can get the 'condo' section of the hotel you will have a small apartment, with a basic kitchen, fridge, extra space, and a view from the large windows. It may even be a bit quieter than the other rooms as this part of the hotel is set back from the street. Definitely worth the extra bucks. Very helpful staff. The regular rooms are OK, too.

"Very comfortable hotel"
Le Nouvel is a very comfortable hotel, situated a few blocks from St Catherine's street, and a short taxi ride from the central downtown area. The hotel itself feels like a fancy apartment building, and it in fact is attached to condo buildings. Very understated entry and lobby. The restaurant served a great buffet breakfast. The fitness room was merely […] adequate. But our room was very large, nicely decorated, with a comfortable bed and large bathroom. We were surprised to see a rather old standard TV, however. Though it's a non-smoking hotel, our room smelled musty and like cigarettes. The bed could use an upgrade!

I really like the hotel. The staff is very friendly. I did a mistake by putting do not disturb sign and my room did not get clean. I when up to the reception and told them the situation and their send the cleaner after 15 minute to clean up the room even it was after 8 pm. I will surely recomment it to my friend

"Le Nouvel Hotel - Montreal"
Overall the hotel was good. However, I was there only 3 days and the elevator did not work on 2 of those days. Hopefully it was just bad luck and it is not like this all of the time as this would be a serious problem for those with mobility challenges. "Le Nouvel Hotel in Montreal"
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Location was great, close to Ste Catherine St and a 10 minute walk to downtown. The only thng to watch for is the issue surrounding the free wifi, it seems not all the rooms connect as easily as others. But overall, a nice stay.
We stayed for one night before departing for airport. Very convenient for 747 Bus (two blocks). The room was large, very comfortable and well equipped. Added bonus having kitchenette in room. The best thing about this hotel is the lobby. The rooms are horrible and in bad need of major renovations. To add insult to injury I had a security guard knock on my door around 8pm to tell me that I was making too much noise while taking to my friends in the room, just ridicules. hotel room carpet had a bad foot smell. It is a good location and easy to get to off the highway.
"Road trip to Montreal - Staying at Le Nouvel Hotel"
My roommate and I took a road trip to Montreal. We stayed at Le Nouvel Hotel. It was very easy to find off the highway and the staff was incredibly friendly. It's very close to a couple metro stops and in a safe neighborhood. Saint Catherine Street was about 2-3 blocks away (5 minute walk). The room was clean and quite spacious. When we checked in, […] the gentleman at the desk gave us a map and suggestions on what to check out based on our interests, very very helpful. "Nouvel Hotel - Montreal"
From the outside, the hotel does not look like much. And originally I was supposed to have gotten a standard room with a King size bed. The information online was a little misleading and confusing. So instead I upgraded to an Admirable Loft room which was superb. The cleanliness, quality and comfort of the room were off the charts. "Vancouver Weekend"
We were very happy with the service and rooms; We were upgraded at no additional cost to large suites. Very nice. The only disappointment was the location in the city. The closest shopping and resturants were in the part of the city that was used by college students; limited resturants and the streets were not clean and had some homeless beggars harrassing […] the pedestrians. "Nouvel Hotel"
Was there Grand Prix weekend so price was higher than usual..was a fluke, we were'nt there for the GP......great location, kind of tired but looks like they are in process of renovating...great, helpful staff...very good hotel and location for the normal price, close to Bell Centre, St. Catherine street, restaurants, Old Montreal is a 15-20 minute walk...I […] think some of the prior criticism was unfair... Overall for what we paid the stay was okay. My main concern was the cleanliness of the rooms was not good, and inconsistant. We stayed in two seperate rooms during our time in Montreal and each room was in a different condition. I do not consider myself to be a princess but a bed sheet that smells of BO before I have slept in it and a bathroom that […] smells of urine is not plesant. I think next time I would likely mention it. That being said the staff were all helpfull and kind and the hotel is in a great location. "HORRIBLE - STAY AWAY"
THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED IN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. POOL = SEASONAL INTERNET = I TETHERED THE WHOLE STAY BCS THE SIGNAL WAS VERY LOW GYM = IN THE BASEMENT AND THE SIZE OF A BEDROOM SPA = ALSO IN THE BASEMENT, LOOKS AND SMELLS LIKE A CHEAP MOTEL. ALSO THERE IS A DE-HUMIDIFIER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE AREA. RESTAURANT = PAPER TABLE […] CLOTHS, NEED I SAY MORE.... WELL I WILL, THE FOOD SUCKED! We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Very clean and close to shopping and within walking distance to Old Montreal for us (but we love to walk when we travel). Close to the bar and restaurant scene on Crescent St. and St. Catherines. The price was very reasonable for all of the amenities nearby. My husband and I will return for sure. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The only thing is, they are in renovation but still it was quiet ! I recommend this hotel :)
"Le Nouvel Hotel is lacking in Customer Service"
The hotel was beautiful, and great location. The service was severely lacking. First of all, the kitchen was supposed to be equipped with cooking and serving tools. I specifically e-mailed ahead of time to make sure and was told by a manager that the kitchen had cookware, utensils, and serveware. When I got there, there were beautiful pots and pans, […] but no cooking utensils to speak of. When I called and asked for some, they said some would be sent up and they never were. Second, the wireless internet isn't actually wireless. After searching in vain for the wireless network listed on the internet information card on the desk, I called the front desk where I was told that my room wasn't wireless and to look for the cable behind the desk. 3 phone calls later, we finally found the cable behind the bed. I had to use my laptop and work in bed the whole time and was unable to use the desk. Third, every single time we called the front desk, they were too busy to help and had to call me back several minutes later. Every time we went to the front desk personally, there was a very long line and a minimum of a 10 minute wait in order to be helped. There definitely isn't enough coverage at the front desk. The parking rates are quite steep. The room was clean and comfortable, but I wouldn't stay there again. Lesa meira
"Le Nouvel Hotel Montreal"
The hotel needs updated. The overall looks clean, but on the closer look, the sheets are worn out, and there are stains on the inside of the bed covers. These kind of bed covers are unhygienic as they are not washed/changed after each guest checked out. There is no bar fridge. The free internet is convenient. It is a minimal service hotel.

Profesional staff from the check in desk to the wait staff to the cleaning staff. Always willing to help. The hotel is in an excellent location for walking to shopping and resturaunts. Located in a safe and clean neighborhood. I will stay here the next time I travel to Montreal.

"Great Location...not much else."
Upon arriving in Montreal for the first time we were very pleased at the hotel's location! It was very close to all of the trendy streets as well as the Bell Centre. This made it ideal for us to enjoy several nights out and a hockey game, on foot, without needing cab fair. Aside from the location the hotel itself was very underwhelming. Check-in went […] as smooth as expected. The hotel staff made it very easy to add a night to our stay after we had arrived a day early. When we walked into our room it had a terrible moldy smell. During the length of the stay we couldn't get it out of our clothing and we had to sleep in 5 degree weather with the window open just to get a break from the stench. The hallways were very loud throughout our stay and we could hear everyone on our floor use the elevator. For the most part the room was clean minus the window sills and around the air conditioner. On a couple mornings we were woken up too early at 9am by the housekeeping staff knocking/opening our door. Parking was $15 a day in/out in a very dank , dim and dusty parking garage below the hotel. The condition made us want to check on our vehicle twice a day to be safe. The area around had many hotel choices so make sure you get a great deal if you pick Le Nouvel Hotel ahead of them. "Not very happy"
Flush was not working properly, charges a lot for Parking and I ended up paying $50.00 extra per day for two bed non smoking, with priceline I have never paid a penny extra. Little disappointed with the surprise charges.
