"Best Western Convention Center NY - fínasta hótel"Metið af Hulda G frá "Ísland" þann 8. apr. 2012
Fínasta hótel á góðu verði og vel staðsett. Stutt að Times Square. Góður og vel útilátinn morgun matur og hreinlæti á herbergjunum mjög gott. Mæli með Best Western ef fólk vill hagstætt en gott hótel. Við vorum með tvö börn með okkur, 9 og 12 ára sem líkaði einnig vel :)

Hótelið er nálægt flugvellinum og er fínnt til að skella sér á yfir nótt, skoðaði ekkert hversu nálægt það var annari þjónustu.
Mögulegt er að gjalds verði krafist fyrir aukagesti. Slíkt fer eftir stefnu hvers hótels fyrir sig.
Krafist er skilríkja með mynd og kreditkorts við innritun vegna tilfallandi gjalda.
Það fer eftir framboði hverju sinni hvort hægt sé að verða við séróskum og þær gætu haft í för með sér aukagjald. Ekki er hægt að tryggja að hægt sé að verða við viðkomandi óskum.
Ekki er boðið upp á aðgengi fyrir fatlaða á þessu hóteli. Vinsamlegast veldu annað hótel ef þú vilt bóka herbergi með aðgengi fyrir fatlaða.

"Not quite what I was hoping for"
A bit underwhelmed with the Dylan. The photos on the preview site are generous (hope they paid that photographer well...) Everything was smaller than expected and a bit tattered. It's all about the details and unfortunately many were lacking. Big bathroom with floor to ceiling cooold marble and not a single flat surface to put anything other than a […] toothbrush down. The sink was clogged. The water burning hot or ice cold. The bed soft and in the center. The room was just cold and a bit hard. Felt like were sleeping in the basement (even though we were on the 11th floor). The staff were friendly but seemed to be oblivious to anything around the area. Still, the location was excellent and the price was reasonable. I was hoping for a bit better but honestly we weren't in the room much. Good thing. Lesa meira

We liked the hotel very much, except for the elevators, which were slow and not totally dependable. Because, as I understand it, our room was "the" showcase of the hotel, it's hard to know what other other rooms were like, but ours was spectacular, and getting it was the luck of the draw. The bathroom was great, and this is always a determining issue […] for me: I don't like bad bathrooms!! It featured tall, tall ceilings, with very modern toilet and shower, and it was very clean. Hotel service was friendly and helpful. We'd not often stayed in this area of Manhattan, but it worked out well. Lesa meira
"jacked up hooptie"
Broken a/c unit, room was about 20degrees hotter than outside air temp for some reason. the tv cable service looks to be on par with that of a Best Western in Des Moines in 1982. Front desk and room service workers were rude. One bank of curtain were broken and had to remain closed. Elevators barely functioned. The hotel is in a good neighbourhood and clean. Unfortunately, me and my friend found the reception staff quite unhelpful. The lack of adequate customer service left us a little underwhelmed. The cleaners were quite noisy in the morning too, and knocked on our door on the last day way before check-out time.The only person that impressed us on the whole […] trip was the gentleman who helped us with our bags in reception. The Dylan was an okay hotel. I expected more from what I had heard about it.The rooms were very dark and the bathroom sink was tiny and there was no counterspace around the sink to put toiletries. The staff was nice. No one took up our bags. The location was the best part.

Although our room faced an office building (as in we could clearly see what people were doing), and we could not look out the window and gauge the weather, we also had one of the most restful hotel rooms we've ever had (quiet and comfortable). The curtains provide absolute privacy. No tub, but we survived. The location is so great, and the rate on hotels.com […] amazing. Next time I will see if we can get a voucher for breakfast, as the buffet was pricey for us. Mostly we ate elsewhere, although the restaurant associated with the hotel is highly rated. Plenty of food options in the neighborhood, a few blocks from Times Square and the theater district, and about two blocks from Grand Central Station and the Library, which is next to the restored and revived Bryant Park. Location, location, location. Since we were new to NYC, we walked to Times Square and bought a 48 hr hop on/off ticket from a bus tour company, sat on the top of the double decker bus and got several great tours. So, coming in on the red eye and having this hotel so close to Times Square made a huge difference in the quality of our first stay in NYC. The staff was very nice, patient, friendly. "Dylan Hotel - quiet location"
Our stay here was efficient and comfortable. Unfortunately our last experience there was using their recommended car service to the airport. The price was not clear as to what we were getting and the driver refused to take a credit card at the airport - not the professional service I would expect from a hotel of the Dylan's caliber.
"Don't choose this hotel"
The room was smal which we expected but the ac didn't work, the refrigerator hardly worked, and the tub didn't drain. We had to ask the unfriendly staff to plunge the tub and they didn't even clean it. Very disappointed overall and would never recommend.
"Easter at the Dylan Hotel"
Staff was very professional and helpful at all times. Room was clean and appointed well. Room was extremely hot even when air was turned as low as possible. Light was not working in closet where coffee pot. was located. Therefore a mess was made when pouring water to make coffee. "Harsh Hotel in the Middle of the City"
Our stay at this hotel was a bit of a disaster. We checked in at around 5pm, and the people in front of us were not able to check in because their room wasn't ready. Ours was, but it was a hole in the wall on the 3rd floor with a tube TV and next to all the service closets. We politely asked if we could be moved to a higher floor, and our request was […] granted. They moved us up to 7, but into an ex-smoking room that smelled awful. Overall, the room was fine. The bathroom, however, left something to be desired. The old pipes in the shower meant that it never got hot enough and was basically as loud as a train wreck. It alternated between piping hot and freezing cold before finally settling on lukewarm. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The service was mediocre and the room was less than comfortable. Lesa meira
"Dylan Hotel - April 2012"
The hotel was OK, I was honestly expecting a little better. Our room was on the 16th floor and HOT and smelly (restarurant aromas). If it did not have a window that opened there would have been no way we could have endured the room. The drain in the shower was clogged and so we both of us could not shower one after the other as the water would over […] flow. It took a good 16+ hours to get that fixed. Lesa meira
"Not what I expected"
On line the hotel looks amazing, classic and beautiful. On arrival the lobby said it all. Holes in the lamp shades, tears and stains on the furniture and in our room, no towel holder in the bathroom and it was freezing. Our room was like a sauna. "Dylan Hotel NYC"
Hotel is in a great location and "fine". Nothing really wrong with it but typical small NYC rooms and nothing that special. Staff is great. Heat worked a little clumsily and I was warm but couldn't really regulate it to get "just right".
"Disappointing"
When we arrived, there were two guests complaining. One about the internet (which never worked for me, the whole time I was there), and another about a situation where she had been given keys to an already occupied room. The staff was nice enough, the room seemed clean, and the bed was comfortable, but very small. The furniture was old and dinged up. […] The carpet in the entrance looked like it belonged on subway steps. I thought my breakfast was included, but it wasn't. Basically, not a terrible experience, but a pretty high price, and many disappointments. I would choose a different hotel around Grand Central Station. Lesa meira

"Great Spot!"
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Dylan. Great location and hotel staff, will definitely stay there again.
Torn carpet on front steps gives a bad first impression. Borker or loose drawer pulls, likewise, gave a boad impression. The bathroom was wonderfully clean. I question the carpet in the room as to cleanliness.

"Dylan Hotel in New York...just OK"
My room faced a brickwall...no view whatsoever. The housekeeping service was spotty. One day it was awesome, the next a dirty cleaning rag was left in my room. Location was great as it's right near Grand Central Station and every subway you could need.
"Comfortable, clean, friendly staff and great area!"
We liked this hotel, from the Staff, to the room, to the location. Easy walk to Times Sq, but in a quiet area. The staff was amazing. The room was clean and quiet. Would go back!! The Benjamin Steakhouse was also amazing!

The hotel is old, but well manteined. The local is perfect near transportation and small, good and cheap places to eat I recommend
"Boutique charm, major chain size"
Large spacious rooms. Clean and modern. I was pleasantly surprised. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location is great! Directly outside Grand Central Station.
Had to check out early. The room was so hot I could not sleep. The only recourse was bringing me a fan.

"Dylan in New York - needs a facelift"
The only thing going for this place is its location. For the rest its just tired and worn out. The gym is a hole in the ground with 2 treadmills from the 70s. Rooms are awful , the furniture is just plain old and needs to be replaced. for this price you can do better in new york.

"4 Stars"
Had a great time in the hotel. It was so relaxing and comfortable that it was hard to leave the room. The only complaint was an over-priced breakfast, but next time i will ask and make sure of the price. Overall great price for the comfort and convenience.
"Great Madison Ave Hotel"
Small hotel over the benjamin steakhouse, right off Madison Ave. Great location. Only issue is the water in the shower scalds me once a minute. They need a higher end plumbing solution to avoid that.
"Good value but quality is lacking"
From the start of not being able to program the clock (yes, it sounds lame but they had every button marked with functions EXCEPT for how to change it to the correct time). Calling the desk only provided a "we can send an engineer in the morning" response. Bathroom design looks great but be prepared for a very wet floor. room service was actually […] good except for the fact that they didn't provide any salt/pepper with the meal. And be wary of the concierge that will get you "their service" to the airport - he neglects to tell you to add tolls on top of the quote - at the end of the day, I would have been better off taking a cab as I wouldn't have had to wait and would have saved a couple of bucks (I really don't care to be seen in a blacked out truck...) Overall a very good value for the location so I guess I shouldn't expect too much (except they do promote themselves in the boutique hotel category - and the other boutique hotels do better with service). "their act not together"
Upon arrival there were no non-smoking rooms available. When we could check in we were shown to room # 1 - already occupied w someone else's clothing, room# 2 - room had not been cleaned. Room # 3 a superior unite for our trouble however only 2 bath towels, no window allowed full light in , lamps had been un plugged, bed sheet was too short - 1 foot […] of mattress was uncovered. The elevator was malfunctioning. The lobby was dirty and shabby. No four star hotel here Lesa meira
"Dylan Hotel"
Great convenient location on the east side. Nice clean rooms. Some of the furniture has some wear, but nicely styled. Bed was a bit lumpy, but passable.
great location (half a block to grand central), comfy bed and a decently sized room. am also a fan of complimentary wireless internet, rather than most hotels that charge up to $15 per day, which is ridiculous.

"convenient but not as comfy as other boutiques"
Location is perfect since its right next to grand central. The room itself was fine, but no real temperature control. There is a knob that you can turn up or down. No way to actually control the temperature. Just fine for a business/one night stay. There are other boutiques I would stay at over this one though (i.e. wyndham was a good one).

Good value for money and great location if you need to be close to Grand Central. It's not in top condition but it would probably be more expensive if it was.

"Horribly overrated"
It's incredible that this hotel has a 4 star rating on Hotels.com. The heating unit in my room broke down in the middle of the night for 2 of the 3 nights I was there. The in-room safe was broken. The door on the wardrobe that serves as a closet didn't close unless you lifted it and forced it. There is more, but I won't bother. "Location, location, location"
If you want to be Midtown, this is the best place. The only down side is the "gym". It had 2 old treadmills and 2 bikes. The weights are old and grungy. I would rather go for a walk in the area. But hotel is otherwise, excellent.

Absolutly loved the hotel Only negative there is no controls for the air in the room but I was perfectly fine at the set temp Staff more then friendly and helpful
