mjög gott og velstaðsett, ganagar herbergið mjög snyrtilegt , kanski mætti hressa aðeins þar sem morgunmaturinn er borin fram en ekkert sem er allvarlegt, þjónustan til fyrirmyndar, takk kærlega fyrir okkur eigum örugglega eftir að koma til ykkar aftur..

We were two women, mother and daugther, aged 82 and 59 staying for 6 days. Arrived 2 hours early for check-in and the friendly staff checked if we could get our rooms at once, no problem. The hotel is beautifully decorated, although not fully renovated. The cleanness is fine. We had excellent English breakfast in the morning and later heard from a taxi-driver that the eggs came from a farm owned by the hotel owners with ,,happy hens" wantering around the estate. Entertainment 3 nights a week was cheerful and aimed at the age group that is most common at the hotel 60-90 years old. The unimportant (for us at least) downsides are that the free WiFi internet connection is at neighbourhood hotel, but it was free and it worked, so this is a minor issue. TV is not satellite, but who comes to Eastbourne for TV? Last the telephone in one room was not working, but the staff did it's utmost to solve this ending by moving my mother to another room. A few steps up to the main entrance may be difficult for some people this age. Overall we had the perfect stay at this pleasant stay, chatting with the ladies visiting and the pianist in the lobby. Had a very good Sunday dinner and if we return to Eastbourne this is the hotel we want to return to. Helpful staff, nice surroundings and cleanness, also nice location by the sea, yet a few minutes away from the more noisy bars, is the reason.

"Grand Hotel"
Lovely, well maintained English Hotel in the finest Traditional sense. Well maintained. we spent a weekend here and really enjoyed it.
"Grand by name, grand by nature"
Utterly fabulous - grand but not scary. All the staff are very welcoming and helpful. The In-room babysitting service allowed us a much-needed night out as a couple and we *loved* the baby sized bath robe! Highly recommended, we will definitely be going back.

"A Classic Hotel"
The Grand at Eastbourne is our favourite UK hotel. The staff are polite, attentive and have an air of efficiency. Our room (junior suite) is highy recommended. The Garden Restaurant is really very good indeed with an excellent choice of menu, effectively served with a very well developed wine list. The Sommelier is very knowledgeable and worth chatting […] to. A first class Hotel with charming staff and ideally situated. Lesa meira

We picked the Grand in Eastbourne for a quick weekend break for 2 reasons.... a high star rating so we expected a certain level of comfort and facilities, and most importantly we could take our dog with us! We paid a very high nigthly rental for an executive sea view room which had a balcony with non secure locking doors, carpet in the bathroom (yuck) […] and what was described as a kingsize bed, was infact 2 beds together which were some of the most uncomfortable we had ever slept in! I think the mattresses had been there for 20 years ! The breakfast which was included in the price was very average as a buffet.For a 5* hotel it was very disappointing. Hotel staff friendly and efficient. Room clean but was disappointed by the fact that as a 5* star hotel there was no fridge in the room and no air conditioning in the bedroom.

The place looks stunning from the outside, but a there were some rennovations going on internally so what looked like it may have been a grand staircase was covered in dust sheets. They insist on a jacket and tie in the restaurant, which they should be made clear on booking, and dont allow jeans even for breakfast. Spa is small, but very nice - you […] need to book treatments in advance if you are going at the weekends. They also seem very popular as a wedding location so be ready for 80s disco classics to be echoing around the place, however, they shut it all down promptly at midnight. Lesa meira
"The Grand Hotel not so Grand anymore"
We stayed the night last night at the Grand. It is an impressive building, however the interior is in dire need of updating and some TLC. We booked last minute and got a reduced rate, the room we were assigned smelt like my granmother's house, and looked like it. At best I would say this was a 4* hotel, the little touches that make a hotel 5* were sadly […] missing. For example no moisturiser was included in the toileteries, when we called housekeeping for some we were told we had to pay for it... Beware, both restaurants require a tie and jacket to be worn by men and book in advance as we were told on arrival they were full. The staff were friendly and attentive, though seemed suspicous of us as we were under 50 and were wearing jeans on arrival. There is a more modern hotel 4 blocks down, if you are under retirement age and want desiger bedrooms at a reasonable rate I suggest you try there instead. Lesa meira
