The Sedona area offers dozens of hiking trails for all expertise levels. About 1.5 miles from the inn, Airport Mesa, a reputed New Age vortex site, features a loop trail and sunset views. The Boynton Canyon Trail, six miles away, explores a gorgeous box canyon with abundant wildlife. At Slide Rock State Park, seven miles away, visitors can slide down slippery rocks into Oak Creek. The West Fork Trail, a mile past the park, is a leafy hike with numerous creek crossings and close-up views of sheer canyon walls. (All vehicles parked in trailhead lots must display a Red Rock Pass, sold at the inn's concierge desk.)
Horseback riding, mountain biking, birding, and hot-air ballooning are other popular pursuits. Four-wheel-drive tours visit canyons, Red Rock landscapes, and centuries-old Native American ruins. Golf courses combine top-notch play with spectacular scenery. Courses open to the public include Oakcreek Country Club and the Sedona Golf Resort, both about eight miles away.

The Staff was incredible, but the room was not. We stayed in a room in a cottage that was very old and definitely did not have the amenities that were shown on the website. The bed was great. The bathroom was average at best. The tub was very shallow and narrow. I'm a tall man, but not 6'6" and the shower head would not adjust high enough for me. My […] wife would have enjoyed a bath, but would never take one in the tub provided. Every picture I saw on line had a fireplace in the room, but ours did not have one. "Do NOT stay in the lodge"
Stayed here one night. Location is convenient, right in the middle of everything in Sedona, yet secluded. Lovely patio on Oak Creek, excellent service from all the staff. Restaurant was very good. HOWEVER, we stayed in the Lodge (not a cabin). The construction of that building leaves much to be desired. We heard every footstep and movement from the […] people in the room above us. Whenever those people walked across the floor or even moved around in bed we thought they would come crashing down on top of us. A very nice day in Sedona and at L'auberge was ruined by a terrible night of very little sleep. As I drove away the next day, groggy from being up all night, that is the main memory I will take away. "A Luxury Oasis in Sedona"
We were upgraded on arrival to a large well equipped cabin. The hotel was not busy, it being January. Throughout our stay the personal service from the staff was first class. We liked the fact that tips (except the restaurant) are included in the resort fee. It makes a change from the normal “tip-fest” you have to go through in most 4 and 5 star hotels […] in the US. The hotel has regular guest activates and this night they had the resident astronomer showing guests the stars from a spot in the car park. This was a great treat. We saw Jupiter close up. The night sky above Sedona is amazing. The man was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. This sort of thing put hotels above the standard. We had dinner in the restaurant. The food and service were first class. It was one of the best meals we have ever had in the USA! Even if you do not stay here, try dinner. It is expensive but worth it. The room was well equipped. It even has a separate OUTSIDE shower. The bed was large and very comfortable and we had a great night’s sleep. Our only regret is that we only stayed one night. This hotel is faultless. Love that they enforce the "no-tipping because you already paid for it in your resort fee" policy. (except restaurant/spa). In 2013, people simply don't carry as much loose cash around and I always get uncomfortable at resorts that supply exceptional service and allow tipping because I have to keep resupplying my small bills and have to constantly be […] cognizant of "should I tip for this or not" type moments. "Best Service in Sedona"
We have stayed at many hotels in Sedona and L'Auberge is, by far, the best experience we have had. We haven't stayed there in the past because, frankly, it was too expensive for 5 nights. With the special Hotels.com was running when we booked the room, the price was on par with many lesser properties. We stayed in a Spa Cottage. It was comfortable, […] clean, spacious and contemporary. The "no tipping" policy was great since we were in and out so often with the valet. Be aware, though, they DO charge a service/resort fee and extra for the parking. The location is right on Oak Creek in Uptown so it was close to everything but very quiet. While this is an excellent resort, as a first time guest, I have two complaints. 1) My wife and I stayed in a Lodge king room. I don't recommend this room at all. It's simply too small and the bathroom is unreasonably small. 2) I was surprised at the rather low dinner menu pricing. "Luxury meets summer camp"
It was the perfect place to spend 3 glorious December days on our first trip to Sedona. Our room was luxurious and the staff was very attentive. The no tipping policy made things easy for us, and the service was impeccable without being stuffy. The hotel must hire carefully and then train the staff well. Every person made us feel welcome. We were pampered! We […] had a large, beautifully decorated spa cottage with a jetted tub, large shower, outdoor shower, indoor gas fireplace and large patio with a lounge chair and a table and chairs. We didn't use the patio as much as we would have in warmer weather. The only thing I missed was a red rock view, but there are rooms that do have the view. We only ate breakfast at the hotel and it was very fairly priced and delicious. We loved feeding the ducks by the creek in the morning - just like summer camp. Best resort I have ever stayed in and I have stayed at some nice resorts (Ritz Carlton and Wynn to name a few). The atmosphere, service, amennities, and quality of the resort were outstanding. Each of the cottages has a real wood burning fireplace and they provide plenty of wood to burn. The restaurant patio the sits by the creek has a fabulous view […] and the food was superb. Stayed in the lodge. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Beautiful property! Didn't get to try the restaurant but enjoyed the coffee and scones in the morning! my daughter enjoyed the duck feeding but wish we could have enjoyed the star gazing with the local astronomer. I knew Sedona was a great town as I have stayed ther before. L'Auberge was booked online, it looked good but I was worried it may of been out of town a little. It's in perfect walking distance of uptown. L'Auberge is even better than it looks on this website. I cannot fault it or the staff. Breakfast and dinner by the creek is priceless. The service is excellent and the food fantastic. We strongly recommend having dinner there outside at the river. Location also great as you can just walk up stairs to get to the main street with shopping and other restaurants. We stayed in the lodge and the room was a bit dated. "Indescribable experience..you owe it to yourself!"
Truly, from the moment we arrived at the L'auberge, we knew we were in for a special experience. The entire staff from the valet and bellmen to the reception in the lobby, bartenders, waiters, and other attendants were always friendly, helpful and courteous. The grounds are absolutely amazing. We ate by the creekside many times and enjoyed being in […] nature watching the water flowing by and the ducks at play. And at night, we sat in front of a beautiful fireplace and listened to the cicadas serenade us while we enjoyed delicious deserts. The Champagne brunch on Sunday was on of the best I have ever had and I live in Las Vegas and know a thing or two about buffets! I can't say enough about the entire stay. Everyone guest we encountered felt the same and it was as if we were all walking around in a state of wonder at how wonderful the rooms were and the surrounding nature. Our vista cottage was extremely roomy with a wonderful bed and exquisite headboard. The bathroom shower was fabulous and would love to have one like it at home. Then there was an outdoor shower which was just wonderful to experience. All of the little extras that the hotel offered and the training of the staff to give their guests such superb treatment was well worth it. We will be returning yearly! Everything was absolutely amazing. Beautiful grounds, amazing customer service, great location, it goes on and on. I stayed at the lodge and it was perfect for the price. Things I liked: Location to town Beautiful scenery -oak creek is magical Amazing customer service - everyone took care of us proactively, without asking An eye for quality everywhere The […] bellman got us ice for our wine, they dropped off robes while we were away, and when we left gave us cold water. Valet took care of my car Valet had the front desk pre-notified so the check in process was minutes Checkout process was seconds Picked us up and dropped us off at restaurants around town My GF thought it was so pretty she thought I was going to propose and teared up What I didn't like: *No views of the red rocks because the trees block the view (choose your poison). *Being that I am in my mid 20's there were a few times when they didn't think I was a guest. *No affordable dining options. *Our $25 resort credit with the room had a lot of restrictions. We were going to use it on breakfast since dinner was out of my price range, but all they had was a $56 a head brunch option while also having plenty of normal breakfast/lunch options available during the week as noted in all the menus in the room/online. I thought that was kind of a cheesy ploy - not a big deal, but I see what they were doing. (56*2 = 112 - 25 = $87 vs 15*2 = 30 - 25 = $5). Overall it rocked, and I will be back.
