The location is great and the rooms are clean and spacious. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I have had better breakfast but it was ok.

My stay at the Lindner was terrific. I arrived very early from the USA and my room wasn't ready yet. They suggested I have breakfast and they would do their best for me. After 15 minutes the front desk manager came into the restaurant and told me I had been upgraded to their Junior suite, so I could rest. It was a beautiful suite with a large patio/balcony […] where you could see the spires of the Dom! I appreciate the courtesy extended and it continued the rest of my stay. Hotel was minutes walk from the train station and Cathedral. Rooms were quiet and very modern. Everything was sparklng new. I would return without hesitation. Absolutely no problems with the reservation. The price of the breakfast buffet was not a good value, so we went to one of the numerous bakeries that are close by for coffee and pasteries. Pro's - Wonderful facility and very helpful staff. The location was within a 5 minute walk from the train station and and the fabulous cathedral. I would not hesitate to stay here in the future . Con's - signage for the hotel location could be improved

Unfortunate that such an attractive property made for such an uncomfortable stay. The thermastat is set not to go above 23 C which is 73 F. After a day of cold sight seeing in Northern Europe in winter, I longed to return to my hotel and not have to dress up in sweats, flannels, and long underwear to be comfortable. I talked to the front desk, but this […] is of course how the computer themostat is set. Beautiful, large appointed rooms. However, many things are extra: the gym, breakfast of course, and wi-fi. I worked around the later by using the hotel lobby computer which was free of charge and mostly available for short periods. I had lovely breakfasts for 10 Euro instead at a bakery around the corner. We could not fault this hotel. The location was perfect as it is close to the main shopping streets, Christmas markets and the cathedral. Location is in city centre that's the best thing about this hotel It has the steepest entrance I've ever seen into a parking garage so beware if you drive anything other then a 4x4 This hotel was more like a travel lodge for 4 star money Bar small, rooms old fashioned, wellness area shared with old people's home in the ajoining building

This is primarily a couples hotel - excellent room - friendly staff - top quality restaurant - largely Italian menu - swimming pool - great town centre location - not cheao though (breakfast E22 evening meals approx E25) - we visited to see the Christmas Market which was excellent and we also took in two Art Galleries whilst we were there

Very good value. Clean and comfortable room, friendly service. The hotel is close to the central train station, Koln Cathedral (Dom), and other sites of interest. Next time I am in Germany, I will certainly consider other Lindner hotels for my stay.

Only one night but very comfortable room, all the amenities -- except would have liked to have easy access to coffee. Main train station is just 4 blocks away -- and the Dom is even closer. Beds were comfortable, shower refreshing (even a tub, which is unusual in Germany), and the front desk people were most helpful.

Hotel was incredibly convenient, a couple of minutes walk from the Dom and the Main train station. It was also very clean, great beds/bedding and room size. The hotel had a modern feel and the staff were incredibly helpful. We had a couple of minor issues with our safe battery being out (they switched our room) and the TV's on the 2nd floor stopped […] working (fixed by the next morning, and the issue seemed like a fluke event). Overall we were incredibly satisfed with our stay here. The location is as good as it gets and it was incredibly comfortable. One thing to note...breakfast here is an EXPENSIVE add on, so avoid. We had no complaints at all about this hotel. I had made a mistake with my online reservation and booked a double room when I actually needed a triple...they brought in an extra bed and didn't even charge us! (So, our space was a bit cramped, but that was MY fault!) The front desk staff is excellent with hotel-related requests as well as information […] about the town. Parking is convenient - there is a garage underneath the hotel - and the rates for parking were average. The location is a quick 300 meter walk to the main part of town. The food in the hotel is pricey...we didn't eat there at all, so I can't comment on quality, but I have no doubt that it is good! We chose the cheaper, more authentic fare a couple of blocks away instead. All in all, I would say that this is probably the nicest hotel I have stayed in while traveling abroad; and coupled with the fact that it is in a very fun city - I definitely recommed it! Lesa meira

Lindner hotel was perfect with one exception; internet access was worse than anywhere I have ever experienced. I paid for one week at 39 euros and WiFi on Apple devices failed most of the time. It's a good business hotel - located a 3 minute walk from the Dom and the train station. What would really improve the hotel as business hotel would be FREE wifi. It's a bit ridiculous that in 2012 wifi is seen as revenue stream as opposed to a business necessity.Anyway a good solid business hotel.

The Lindner Dom lived up to the reviews and surpassed our expectations. Front desk staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, the hotel was very clean, modern and well-appointed. I stayed here for two nights. The location to the central train station was good, less than 2 blocks walk away. I didn't have any problems walking there in the very early morning. The room was clean and comfortable, with english TV channels and movies available. The staff were OK, but not the most helpful. On my first day I asked where the nearest […] doctor was. The girl didn't seem to happy to help me, and more gave the impression I was bothering her; yet the hotel brochures say that if you need a doctor to ask the reception and they would be 'happy' to help. In addition to that, when I asked one of the morning staff where the nearest ATM was her reply was a shrug of the shoulders and "maybe the train station". However, on my way there I noticed there was not only one, but two, at the end of the street. She also told me that the train to the airport would take 40 minutes; it only took 15 minutes! I recommend the staff make themselves more aware of the area and those questions that might be more commonly asked by guests. I had a couple of meals at the restaurant at this hotel. The food was lovely, and worth the money. With regards to the drinks though, there needs to be more consistency. On the first night I was served a cocktail in a tall glass. On the second night I ordered the same drink, but it was served in a glass half its size. When I wanted it topped up with the rest of the mixer (ginger ale) they charged me extra for it! on arrival we were given room 219. There was a distinct unpleasant smell - damp problem, perhaps? We complained and were offered choice of room 119 (directly below 219) or 514. When we entered 119 the odour was many times worse than in the room above. We settled in 514 and everything was fine thereafter. First trip to Europe. Room was much larger than I expected from what others have said. Good location. Very convenient to walk to HBF/Kolner Dom/Altstadt and other areas. I never felt unsafe in this city, and the hotel really added to that experience. Key-card entry to elevators, a room safe, etc. The tub had a small glass pane near the shower head, […] and no curtain, but it wasn't hard to learn to shower that way. Tub was much larger than the one I have at home, so I was spoiled with baths every day. Only complaints (minor ones) are getting replacement bars of soap when requested, and having to ask for replacement washcloths. Bed was comfy (not tiny, as expected). Staff was excellent and very helpful. The computer in the lobby came in quite handy due to cell phone issues, even if internet connection was slow. But it isn't there for extensive work on the computer. Friends who came to visit all remarked that it was a great hotel compared to their own. With a large event happening in the city all weekend, you'd never know. It was a quiet property just far away enough from other things but close enough to be really convenient. You'll pay a little more for 4 stars, but this hotel earns them all and it's absolutely worth the price. I'll definitely look for other Lindner properties on future trips to Europe. Lesa meira

We loved this hotel! It's modern and airy and the staff are charming, especially the staff in La Gazetta, the restaurant. We ate there each night and the food is excellent, although we felt that the wine was rather over-priced for what was on offer. The breakfast is absolutely fantastic!!

We were made to feel very welcome, even though we arrived at 10.30am (check-in was 3pm), able to check straight in and the staff at the desk were very helpful throughout the whole week. They gave us a city map, and answered all our queries. The room was immaculate and comfy.
