Only a few blocks from the art museum, which was the main thing I wanted to visit. They let me store my bags before check in so I could walk around. Everyone I talked to was friendly. Great location if you're looking to be within a short walk to the Bank of America Theater. Had a really good laugh though at the size of our room. Seriously the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in. Understandable if you are a lone business traveler (as I believe this hotel is designed for), but it felt a little claustrophobic for two. Overpriced […] given the size. It was a busy weekend in the city which raised the rates at all of the area hotels. Overall, it was clean room and the hotel staff were polite and accommodating. I was disappointed that the hotel was in the business district, we did not realise this. As a result there was nothing open past nine oclock, no bars within walking distance. The hotel restaurant was OK, but they really should learn more about British food if they are going to bill themselves as an English pub. We never have potatoes with a full English […] breakfast, and the mushrooms should be fresh not tinned. "Location in the Loop can't be beat"
Great location one block between the blue line that runs from O'Hare and the orange line that runs from Midway. Two blocks from shopping and architecture on State Street, theater district, lake. You can even walk to the Magnificent Mile from the hotel- just wear comfortable shoes. On Tuesdays, there is an urban market one block on Dearborn and Adams. […] Vendors were selling all kinds of delicious eats and treats which we purchased to bring home. Service at the hotel was wonderful. The hotel has iPads which guests can check out for 48 hours. We loved this since it allowed us to look up restaurants and hours of attractions so we could plan our day. Also, on each floor near the elevators, there is a rack of plastic water bottles and a purified water machine which we gladly made use of every morning when we woke up, before we left and each evening when we came in. I will say this- we had the smallest room, a club room maybe? The room itself was small but the bathroom was extremely small. There is no tub, only a shower with a curtain. It kind of brought me back to my college days where I wondered if I needed to wear shower shoes. No worries though- it was clean. We did have to request additional towels since only one hand towel and wash cloth were provided initially and the second day of our stay. Other than that, some paint chipped and nicked on the doors of the room just appeared to be wear and tear. Not a five star hotel, but in the Chicago Loop, this is hands down a great value! "Great hotel for a weekend in Chicago!"
Loved this hotel. Perfect location. Located by many of the mass transit trains/buses that we needed to take to attractions we wanted to see. Hotel front desk also had some discount tickets to local attractions-- be sure to ask. We ended up saving on our trip to Willis (Sears) Tower viewing deck. Staff were super nice and helpful. I loved the purified […] water station on the floor. Would highly recommend. Also very close to the Art Institute of Chicago and Millennium Park. Couldn't have stayed at a nicer place. "Comfortable and convenient"
We stayed here the night before seeing "The Book of Mormon". The hotel was only 2-3 blocks from the theater, and there were many restaurants in the area too. The service was great at check-in; they were very helpful. The room was a little small, but we didn't do much entertaining there. Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was nice; it was a shower […] only, not tub. Security is good. You must have a room key to go above the third floor in the elevator. And on Sunday morning, people were filming a scene to an upcoming Hollywood sci fi movie. And that was fun and interesting to watch. If you are coming in from O'Hare, the Blue Line has a station a few blocks away. I'm pretty sure you can get to Midway on the Orange Line, which is only one block away. The staff is friendly and helped us with all of our needs. We had a corner room that offered a great view, but was a little tight. The closet was right next to the front door, which […] caused minor issues. The shower water pressure was not that strong, but I think that is due to the hotel trying to conserve water. There is chilled water bottles available on every floor; however, the ice machine is only located on the third (3) floor. This was not an issue as the elevators are quick. We upgraded to a suite because the room we initially reserved at the Club Quarters turned out to be too small for two people. The standard rooms are very basic, no refrigerator or safe, but the rest of the hotel has plenty of amenities, my favorite being the rotation of free snacks and hot and cold drinks in the lounge area to which you can help yourself every day. I didn't use the gym myself, but one of my colleagues who went was pretty happy with it, and they'll even deliver […] exercise equipment to your room, such as yoga kits and steppers. Free WiFi would have been great but it was way too slow to use! I often found myself using my smartphone instead of my laptop as the connection was so unreliable. The vending machine on the third floor was very reasonably priced, with I think everything costing a dollar or less. The location was good during the day, but in the evening there's not a lot going on around this part of town, and there's hardly anywhere good to eat. I only had breakfast once at the restaurant downstairs and although the atmosphere was nice and staff friendly, the food took forever to come out and was only average. The best place we ate in the area was at a German restaurant called The Berghoff which had excellent food and cocktails and a nice selection of beers as well. In all, I'd recommend this hotel for a business traveler, but perhaps spring for a room with a kitchenette if it's within your budget. They sometimes offer discounted upgrades on check-in. "Excellent for Price"
Hotel is located right next to the Blue and Red 'L' lines and very close to Grant Park and Lake Michigan. The Elephant and Castle Restaurant adjacent to the lobby has an excellent menu and is perfect if you have been sightseeing all day and don't want to put in too much effort searching for a place for dinner. "Small and quaint."
This is an old hotel but the room was clean and the ammenities were nice. My only concern was the size of the bathroom. It was clean and all but VERY small. And since we were on the 8th floor we had to wait 5-10 minutes for the hot water to reach our room. "Good for business, not for a trip with friends"

"Great Place"
We had a great time in Chicago, and the hotel was perfectly placed for us. We went on vacation, however this hotel is right in the downtown loop conviniently placed for both business and leisure. I would highly recommend this hotel. The standard rooms are smaller, but they have everything you need. They also supply water and bottles to all hotel patrons. […] The business area is great with several work stations, a print, and even conference areas. There are plenty of places within 2 blocks to have breakfast, lunch, or dinner. This is also within a couple blocks of the Willis tower. All of the staff was friendly and accomodating. Again this was a great place to stay, and I would highly recommend it to a friend.
