Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly, queen spa apartment was roomy and very quiet, especially given the busy location. The furniture, especially the bed and lounge, had seen better days, but all-in-all, a comfortable and very convenient place to stay, thank you.

Hotel is in a close location to most attractions, places to eat, supermarket, shops and Her Majesty Thearter around the corner.THe room was small but comfortable. Three things need improvement, 1. For eating purposes there needs to be a table and two chairs. (do away with the coffee table and seatee) 2. The full length miror is on the wrong side of […] the cuboard. 3. Although i wasn't impressed with the smell of smoke on entering the room, everything else was perfect. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was so comfortable!!! Staff were friendly and helpful

Punthill on Little Bourke Street is a great location in Melbourne, walking distance to all main areas and sporting events. The Hotel is very clean, quiet and well equipped. The staff are Friendly and helpful, we will definitely look for this Hotel's availability when visiting Melbourne again.

We had a comfortable stay in a one bedroom apartment. It is a central location allowing easy access to live theatre, the Museum, city centre and restaurants. The location of this hotel is fantastic, literally just around the corner from China town & various theatres! The local restaurants offer a huge variety of foods to tantalise anyone's taste buds!

Very comfortable and convenient location. However we were on the third floor and were disturbed every night by bottles being loaded in rubbish trucks and drunks nearby in the streets near the hotel. Next time will ask for a room higher up.

Punthill appartments on Little Bourke St was in a great position right in Chinatown near restaurants and bars. The manager & his wife were fantastic and gave us great ideas of things to do. Being 3 of us it was fantastic to have a 1 bedroom appartment, lots of room to move around. We will be back

Great size room for 3 adult females on the way to Australian Open tennis and seeing the sights of Melbourne. Easy to get to Circle trams and transport. Poor communication with Central booking office and housekeeping: 2 single beds and the sofa bed were requested and confirmed via email 6 months ahead of our stay and the room was not ready for us upon […] arrival. Housekeeping altered another room for us which was completed promptly however, the following day (while we were at the tennis) housekeeping re-made the room and put the single beds back together again, Upon our return to the hotel later that evening, nothing could be done about separating our bedding again. We left a note this time and the problems did not occur again. On our final morning housekeeping woke us at 7.30am thinking that we had checked out - which we obviously had not done. Apart from these annoying miscommunications our stay was fine. Lesa meira

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. It was comfortable, clean and quiet and in a convenient location to walk to the main shopping and restaurant areas of Melbourne CBD. It was also close to public transport and within nice walking distance of Federation Square, Southbank etc.

You can't stay closer to the centre! Surrounded by restaurants, it is bang in the middle of the Chines Quarter, shops, river area, theatres, National Galleries all a short walk. A good 3 star accommodation, good size studio flat with washing machine. The cleaning could have been a little more fastidious but all was acceptable. Booking an airport pick-up […] on departure proved a little taxing for the reception person but in the end it worked out. On the whole a good value accommodation. Lesa meira

Hotel was great. Only issue for some would be the nightclub a few doors down, could hear the bass until 4am, but it wasn't that loud. I slept easily.

Hotel was clean and very well maintained but the continental breakfast area left a lot to be desired. Only one table and very little selection offered for the $9.50 price. However, the staff made up for any shortcomings. They were excellent. Very helpful, knowledgeable, went out of their way to assist us. I would definitely recommend this place especially to people who like to dine out. Many good restaurants in the area. The hotel itself is located right in Chinatown and the area was extremely busy the night we arrived. We had taken the train into Melbourne expecting to be able to take a shuttle bus to the Punthill Little Bourke but because our flight was delayed 3 hours the shuttle, which stops at 5:30PM, was not available. We ended up walking almost a mile pulling our suitcases (mine was 48lbs + a carryon as we were on a month long trip). There were all kinds of trams around but we had no knowledge of the area as we had expected to use shuttle. Also, tons of people on the streets in Chinatown almost made it impassible. I only mention this so that you are aware of the shuttle limitations if you are arriving by plane and plan to use the train into Melbourne. Bye the way, the train was extremely convenient and easy to use. Hotel was also very convenient location for us to walk to alot of the attractions in the area. Good base if you like to walk. Hotel was in the perfect location, right in the heart of where we wanted to be, walking distance to all central shopping and the bus stations, on the list of pickups for free airport shuttle connection, close to stop for free city circle tram if you were feeling a little lazy. While the location and front-of-house was good, I found the condition of some hardware below standard. The mounting rail for the shower head was very loose & appeared as though it could detach from the wall at any moment. Also, the handle of the mixer tap in the kitchenette was very loose (this was reported to the front desk upon our departure). We […] found that the bed making was only cursory and on two occasions we had to smooth out the under sheet. It was thought that there should have been an extra dining chair so that 2 people could sit at the table for meals. Finally, the sofa seemed to be facing in the wrong direction; the only arm would have been better at the other end of the sofa. We had a queen spa bedroom on the 2nd floor. It was spacious and comfortable but the bed was fairly saggy in the middle. The only thing of note is if staying over a weekend the nearby noise from nightclubs does go on till the early hours so bring ear plugs! The location of this hotel is brilliant, right in the centre of China Town and within walking distance of everything in the city centre. The staff we very friendly and the apartment was extremely well appointed. The location was the main advantage! We could walk everywhere - 15mins to Queen Victoria Markets; 20mins to Melbourne Aquarium and 15mins to Brunswick St. There were also heaps of amazing restaurants that were close! The hotel is in a great location for easy access to the city and great eating places, and for trams and trains. The downside was that the laneway was a bit noisy in the early hours of the morning. Facilities in the room were well maintained, and generous in size.

This hotel is right in the centre of chinatown,so it is handy to lots of restaurants and shops. Room was plenty big enough for two people,even though it also had a fold out sofa/lounge for extra guests if needed. Had some issues with the room - we booked a queen but were given a double. Had to insist on getting the queen as my husband is very tall and the double would have been uncomfortable for him. It was a bit noisy at night an the room had a peculiar smell.

Great location, close to the free bus, free tram, Chinatown, restaurants and cafes. Small problem with the spa bath height for elderly people so request a room with a shower.

We found the room very comfortable. The staff were personable and helpful and even the cleaners were very nice. The hotel is close to the tram service so all the precincts were accesible. I have already recommended the hotel to my friends.

The hotel is situated in chinatown so has plenty of eating and entertainment options. A little noisy on a Saturday night as there is a nightclub across the road, but not too bad. The rooms are clean and good, except the bathrooms could probably do with an upgrade or real thorough clean - stained spa etc does not tempt a person to use it unfortunately. […] Having said that, the staff were terrific, and quick to sort anything out that you required. They allowed us to check in early after our flight from Perth - much appreciated. I would also like to see more in the gym...a bike, treadmill and possibly some machined weights too...just wanting more from someone who is very happy with his stay. I wold reccomend it to others. I come to melbourne often and it was a great price for what you got - I did get it on special...very competitive with other apartments in cbd, but price , location and comfort is right up there with the best Lesa meira

Good location in the heart of Chinatown, close to the centre of Melbourne. Location isn't particularly noisy, and it was easy to get a decent night's sleep. Decor is getting a little worn, but overall it was a pleasant room. On the second day, our room wasn't serviced, which they apologised for when queried. Staff were helpful

Brilliant location in the heart of Chinatown. Two minute walk to tram, easy access to everywhere . Friendly staff. 7 minute walk to Swanston Street (heart of the city) Would definitely stay there again with no hesitation. We went as a couple but next time would take our kid, safe and not noisy!!

Stayed at Punthil Lt Bourke for 4 nights in August 2012 in a One Bedroom Apartment. Overall fantastic, room was great, well maintained, front door staff were friendly- owners were good value. No issues to report, highly recommend for the quality of the rooms and location.

Our apartment was well set up for a 4 night stay. The small kitchen had everything we needed for making breakfast or making a snack in the evening.Though we were in the middle of China Town it was very quiet. Highly recommend for a city stopover.

Great location. Awesome front desk staff. Clean rooms. Pillows may need replacing. Alley side can be a little noisy from restaurants getting rid of bottles. Overall - great stay and will stay there again!
