Travelodge Huntsville Ontario – Huntsville

My main problem was that it appeared that we were bothering him by coming in. I was a little apprehensive when I first pulled up as the sign under the Travel Lodge banner was falling off. The rooms were clean, but the roof was falling in and cracked as well as the window frame being broken.

The staff was friendly, and brought me iron I requested. Everything was unremarkable and comfortable. The bed and bathroom were clean. There was WiFi and an alarm clock. That's all I ask.

This hotel seemed to have had some water issues current & in the past. There was a water leak in our room that kept us up half the night. When we checked out in the morn & brought this issue to the man @ the front desk he didn't offer us anything to compensate us or even say sorry about that. He simply said I will check it thanks. I am so disappointed in this hotel. The yard work was disgusting, very poor shape. Clearly NO yardwork had been done. Flower Pots with weeds in them instead of flowers. There is three floors and NO ELEVATOR!!!! I stayed on the second floor, and was to stay 4 nights, but I need to leave and find a better hotel. There was only a half roll of toilet paper, […] and no replacement roll. As well, around the toilet it was dirty, with I assume urine from the previous stay. The bathtub tile had someone's fingerprints from I don't know what. The sink didn't drain very good, in fact filled up then slowly emptied. The sinks front panel stuck out about an inch from the cabinet. It just wasn't a clean hotel all around. I don't recommend staying at this hotel at all. Lesa meira

This hotel from the outside looks very worn. The front lobby was very stained and worn. The hallway to our room smelled like a party of smokers had just left. My son who has asthma, had difficulties with his breathing after walking through the hallway. The room itself smelled smoke free and was clean and kept up nicely. Ok, so the building is quite old but looks to be well maintianed. The rooms could do with some modernising and TLC. The beds require renewing, they are real back breakers. Came home a day early. The TV's are CRT's Really!! They should be flat screen. Breakfast, Barest minimum. Needs something adding to make it at least interesting. I have visited most of the hotels and motels in Huntsville, over the past several years. This visit to the Travelodge was, by far, the most disappointing! In particular, the level of cleanliness and room maintenance was a huge disappointment. Another visitor indicated that they did not have sufficient hot water and that ants were crawling over the food […] left on the microwave by an earlier customer. I can't say that it was a negative experience, just disappointing one. The staff wasn't friendly at all; no toilet paper in the room; uncomfortable bed... Not sure, is it common for Travelodge or only for this particular place. Probably will check out on my next trip.

The room was ok. Could have used a pass with the vacuum. The continental breakfast was lacking. And the front desk clerk was extremely disinterested in anything we had to say. He was more interested in what was on his cell phone. Wouldn't stay there again.

Could not have booked a poorer location, rooms were unclean, uncomfortable, and generally not fit for accommodation. Towels had stains, carpets dirty and beds uncomfortable.

What can you expect for the price? Location was good, service was decent, beds were comfortable enough, water was hot, cable worked. One problem....no soap or shampoo. If you're looking for an inexpensive bed and a shower, this is it. If you're looking to enjoy the hotel and grounds.....spend more money.

The desk manager was less than helpful after we tried for hours to contact the hotel directly to make a reservation. Then, after booking with your service we were unable to make changes or even cancel a few hours later! The ajoining rooms were awesome the only thing that really was a downer was there was no heat. We had arrived really late and were exhausted and then didnt really sleep due to the heating.

Not only is this the worst travelodge I'v stayed at, its the worst hotel/motel I'v ever stayed at. There is nothing appealing with this hotel.

After reading all those negative reviews I doubt if I had made the right decision, so I expected the worst when I entered the Travellodge. But to my pleasant surprise I couldn’t find a single flaw. Tony, the owner I believe, was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was not bad at all. Nice extras were the fridge […] and microwave in the room and the free wi-fi . Overall I had a good experience there and would definitely recommend this motel. Lesa meira

This has to be the worst Travelodge in the world. You need to take the sign away from this independent owner. Upon arrival it looked like we had awoken the duty manager "Tony". He spoke not a word to us until we asked for a recommendation for a restaurant. There was cereal spilled on the breakfast service counter that should have been cleaned up 8 hours […] prior. The door to my room was wide open. The room required dusting and airing. The shower dripped afterwards in the morning. Horrible coffee on the "continental" breakfast. Toaster didn't work. Decor throughout the building wasn't - not quite institutional, more prison like. The bed was uncomfortable, the pillows thin, the bedding tired. In room coffee maker was dirty and there were missing lightbulbs. No directory in room, no adequate signage throughout. The sliding doors didn't lock completely. Not enough towels provided in the bathroom. The motel wasn't any where near the picture provided on Expedia. Lesa meira

We had a ground floor room which was very nice being able to use the sliding door to walk right out to our vehicle to get our gear. Room was comfortable and surprisingly quiet for the proximity to the street. Would stay there again, but would make sure I got a ground floor room.

The manager of the Hotel does not know how to smile. You have to ask him everything. They do not supply for you. For example, I had to ask for milk, bread, toilet paper and so forth

The Travelodge is an okay hotel - clean, fair-sized rooms - but is lacking in some areas. Small as Huntsville is, the hotel is located away from everything. I didn't even know that road went out that far. As well, the lobby is pretty cramped to also be hosting the continental breakfast.

TOTALLY APPALLED BY THE PLACE!! WALKED INTO THE ROOM AND NOTICED A BUCKET OF WATER ON THE FLOOR, THOUGHT THE CLEANING LADY LEFT IT, PUT IT OUT INTO THE HALLWAY .. Owner runs the place himself and not much of staff, the toilette was dirty and the grounds were unkept. The second day of our stay nobody cleaned the room and when we requested this to be done they didnt have the staff to do it.

There is not enough parking spaces at the hotel for half of the rooms never mind if they fill it to capacity. The heat did not work and it was quite cold and the beds are old and very uncomfortable. However, the staff was very courteous.

My wife and I had a pleasant 5-night stay at the Travelodge hotel in Huntsville, Ontario. We encountered a clean room and the breakfast was fulfilling. The lady and gentleman at reception were both very welcoming. One suggestion I need to make, though. It would be nice if the room got tidy up on an every day basis. Small room, dripping faucet, bathroom not for claustraphobics, spiders in the stairwell, not walking distance to downtown, funny smell...wouldn't stay again.
