Love the hotel, like the place but it's still a bit close to a run down neighborhood. The hotel is very nice, the staff is very nice, the food at the hotel bar was good and the breakfast was nice. the pool was good but could have been warmer..the gym was TINY really really small but If you just do the treadmill you are ok. I'd stay there again with out a doubt.

"Pleasantly Surprised!!!"
My husband and I travel to the Athol, Mass. area at least 2 times a year to visit family here. Normally we stay at a Marriott Hotel, However,the nearest one is a 50 minutes drive from Keene, NH to my sister's home in Athol. We were unable to find a very nice room at an affordable price in the area, until now! I talked my husband into taking a 1 night […] chance on this hotel. I held my breath. Wow what an amazing surprise ! Needless to say, we immediately extended our stay for another 3 nights. Outstanding, courteous, very helpful staff always there with a smile. Extremely clean room. Updated decor, and the king bed was so comfortable! Great night's sleep. The bathroom had granite counter top and updated fixtures as well as a nice tile floor, although a little smaller than we are used to however. There was also a nice sofa sleeper in the room. The hot breakfast buffet included with the room was surprisingly delicious with lots of choices. And it changed daily. Most of all, we were greeted with the sweetest server every morning, Carol gave excellent service! She knew when we would be arriving and always had our favorite table ready with plenty of hot coffee and lots of smiles soon after!! We love you Carol!!! We give this Hotel 5 Stars!!! in every aspect. This is now our new "Favorite place". Go and enjoy, you won't be disappointed!!! Lesa meira

Best place to stay in Gardner. The bed mattress sagged a bit, but the wi-fi was fast and free breakfast. Overall would recommend the Colonial.

The Colonial Hotel was very well maintained with attentive staff. Even with a wedding and reception going on at the hotel it was quiet and comfortable with plenty of parking!
