Umsögn frá gesti Hotels.com á 25. sep. 2012We stayed at The Campanile in August and we really liked it. The room was clean, the bathroom was nice and clean, good pillows and friendly staff. The breakfast was good and had many things to choose from. We only disliked one thing and that was the food that we got at the restaurant one evening, it was terrible!! But we went there again another evening and we had the buffet and the desert buffet and that was ok.

The baths were upgraded, that is clear, but there are still plumbing and venting problems; a bad odor would develop in the room. We had a very comfortable stay here in Nice. Whilst the hotel room overall was a bit "tired" it was a fabulous room, very clean and with a fantastic outlook. The hotel is a five/ten minute walk to the main train station, a half minute walk to the very frequent trams, and a twenty minute walk to the historic centre and/or water front. The hotel was in a great location. 1 minute from the tram, 7 minutes from the train station. Lots of shopping locally with supermarket opposite. Beach 15 minute walk or jump on tram 5 minutes. This hotel was just perfect - it was beautiful, clean, with a friendly staff, and the location was ideal. It was just a ten minute walk from both the train station and old Nice/the Promenade des anglais. When we wanted to go to Monaco and Ventimiglia, they were more than helpful, suggesting buses and trains and explaining the pros and cons of each. We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in June 2012. Centrally located, it makes a good base to explore the vibrant city of Nice. The staff on Reception were very helpful and polite, nothing was too much trouble. Hotel Best Western New York New York is excellently located between Gare De Nice (7 mins walk) & Promonade Des Anglais (the beach at 10 mins walk). Monoprix (Huge Super Market is just bang opposite) + Nice Etoile (Shopping centre) is at 2 mins walk. Hotel Staff (Specially Claudia & Nela at Reception) are excellent - I dint know a word of French but […] they guided me very nicely and managed to explore the French Riviera from Monaco to Cannes. "Nice Experience in NICE!"
A major factor for me is the quality of the service and the helpfulness of the staff. I have to say that the staff is extremely friendly, attentive and helpful. The building is historical and in need of perhaps a bit of updating. The rooms were adequate, clean and comfortable. Internet was FREE and available for all of our technology. The room sizes […] were bigger than we had in Paris. The balcony's were a nice added feature. The beds were not as comfortable as i would have liked and the decor was not to my taste. The elevator was extremely small. There was a lot of construction during our stay and that made it quite noisy but we spent most of the day away from the hotel so it was not a big issue. The price was reasonable.for what we received and the location was convenient to the local trains and busses as well as the Train station. There was lots of shopping, near the hotel. Overall, the stay at this hotel was not bad. It was very central and allowed for easy walking to many of the attractions. Parking was limited, but the hotel allowed me to park my car in the loading area for the 2 nights that I was there. The item that bothered me was the servicing of the room. I was only staying 2 nights and I did not want anyone entering […] the room while I was out and about. In addition, I did not think my room required cleaning on a daily basis. I placed the 'do not disturb' sign on the door before leaving. Upon return, I found that the sign was hanging inside the door and the room was madeup. "Ideal for a short break"
Very helpful and friendly reception staff. Rooms adequate and comfortable, nice clean bathroom. An ideal position for exploring the city or just ambling down to the sea. Unfortunately the Nicoise are colder blooded than we Brits , hence the air conditioning was still on 'hot' which meant leaving the windows open at night! but definitely easy to recommend […] for a short visit. It was difficult to find our hotel in the maze of Nice. Once there, the check-in was quick and the hotel was typical European. Their elevator was scary and the room was small, as expected. The hotel needed re-decorating but was clean. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom convenient. We would recommend it and stay there again.Ósvikin umsögn gests á Hotels.com
