Holiday Inn London-Kings Cross Bloomsbury – London

The room wasn't big but it was good for our purpose,2x2 bed, it was somewhere to sleep and get around from. the tube is not so far of and it was easy to find the hotel from Russel square station. The view from the room was fine.

Even with the Air Con on full the room was boiling! For a 4 star hotel i would have expected the hotel to be a bit better looked after. The taps in our room were dirty and covered in lime scale. That being said the beds were comfy with a good choice of pillows. The hotel is right next to a bus stop with regular buses to Kingscross. The hotel room was adequate and clean, but not fancy. We ate in the hotel restaurant and the staff made a few mistakes in our order. The creme brulee wasn't set, but when we complained and said we needed to go, they sent a replacement dessert up to the room. But overall, the food was good and it was fine for the price.

We enjoyed our weekend at the hotel - kids eat free was fantastic. Especially when they charge for everything else like car parkiing, wifi and pool. Although to be fair we had a fantastic rate per night for a family of 4 so for London it was very resonable for the quality of hotel and what it offered. The pool was great for the kids and breakfast fabulous. […] The kids had some meals which looked really good but we ate out with friends. We chose to use cabs for our couple of excursions as it was a wet weekend and the train station a long walk however they were not too expensive for where we needed to go. Would stay again and would recommend. Great pub across the road as well. Oh beware if going by car it is within the congestion zone. Lesa meira

Good location, nice sized beds. Jacuzzi stopped working, which was very disappointing. The hotel room walls were very thin, can hear other people's conversations and crying babies.

We enjoyed our stay at Kings Cross Bloomsbury very much. The room was comfortable with all the amenities we needed and two large beds. Slept well both nights. The service was excellent and everyone was very helpful. The hotel was about 10 to 15 minutes from Kings Cross tube station which was fairly convenient for getting to tourist areas. Booked through Expedia without any problem, room was up to standard, as was the reception when we arrived - everything was processed without fuss. Disappointed not be able to use the curry option on takeaway, but it was Sunday (they only provide Monday-Saturday), but the 'normal' room service provided sufficient choice and delivered within the time […] they said. The biggest disappointment was the leisure club as some of the basic facilities - notably toilets in the male changing room - weren't working at all..... Sometimes things do exactly as they say on the tin. Was this the best hotel I've stayed in, no. However it certainly was not the worst. For a centrally located good value hotel it would get 10/10. The rooms as always with a Holiday Inn were clean and bed and bedding perfect for a good nights sleep. Yes it's a bit tired but as value for money it cannot […] be faulted. Not at all pleased that whilst I was in a non-smoking room, the floor was clearly mixed and the corridors were therefore very smokey - not pleasant. Hotel was clean but very tired and needs an overhaul. I will not be staying again.

Coming from the sleeper overnight from Edinburgh for an academic meeting I was really pleased to be given an early check in. The room was of a high standard. Wifi and pool were extra costs but these weren't an issue for me. The rate with breakfast would have been much higher. I was originally in room 750 but it smelled of smoke and bathroom facilities did not all work properly. This was a blind booking and I believe I was put in a poor room becuase I used Expedia and paid about $100 a night for a "secret hotel" deal. I complained to the hotel staff the next morning and I was immediately moved to a new room (850) which did […] not smell of smoke, had a robe, a fridge, working bathroom facilities, and lots of little extra's such as soaps, shower cap, a refridgerator with water, and sewing kits. I am extremely dissatisfied that I was put in such a sparse and unkempt room. However, I am extremely grateful that the hotel staff immediately rectified my poor room and gave me a free English Breakfast to make up for the room problems. Nice and clean, pool and service there was great However.... The food was shocking, £10 for a frozen pazza base whith the cheapest toppings possibe. Badly cooked and presented fish and meat. very, very poor.. I only didn't complain because I was with my 2 young children...

Location is ok little far from all attractions, 10 min by taxi and an hour walk but it was ok For the price we paid 75£ dbl room only. Hotel is clean, rooms are big anoght for 2+1. Staff is very helpfull and quick. There is small supermarket in the lobby.

Enjoyed my stay, had to pay to use gym/pool but was worth it. Paid £82 a night at that price it represented very good value. Hotel was clean and located close to kings cross station.

Good hotel with good service, and a central location if you know London and have been there before. Close to Russell Square. The rooms were in a good condition.

NOT a 4-star hotel. Very outdated and nothing special about it at all. The walk to and from King's Cross isn't quite as bad as everyone says, but we only had day packs. The people we saw walking with big suitcases seemed to be struggling. It was alright for just a place to crash, but I'm glad we only stayed there 1 night. A good standard of hotel. The room was fairly compact but had everything we needed. The location is fairly good, close to Kings Cross, St Pancras on the 63 bus. Near Exmouth market.

Spent 3 nights over Christmas. Restaurants did not open as advertised for Christmas meals. Paid $11 to use the hotel pool; internet is $25/day. Mouldy ice bucket. Ripped chair in room. Young children left to run and make mischief all over the hotel while their parents got inebriated. Management could not deal with the situation Concierge could not supply […] simple information. Nice hotel. We had booked two rooms for 5 persons, and the staff helped by assigning us two rooms that were directly connected. Quality and cleanliness was ok. On the downside, breakfast was not included and cost 13 pounds per head. Rather stiff,considering the quality of the breakfast. The bread was particularly boring. Otherwise ok. although the hotel was a l good 10-15 minute walk from Kings cross there was an adequate bus service to and from the hotel. Having read mixed reviiews of the hotel I wasn't sure what to expect. I need not have worried, there was nothing at all to critisise about the hotel. We had lunch in the hotel when we arrived which was excellent and good value […] for money. I've stayed at many Holiday Inn's across the UK and the World, unfortunately, this one didn't quite live up to the standard. Primarily because of the incredulously soft mattress. For me sleep is the most important component of a Hotel, if you don't get any then it has failed in it's duty! Concierge service was pretty poor too, just general manners.

The one thing that let the hotel down was that the bed was so uncomfortable. And after all getting a good nights sleep is the most important part of the stay

Room itself was fine, but the restaurant made Fawlty Towers look good! Also, the very basic continental breakfast is not good value at £10.95. The hotel also charges extra for Wi Fi and use of leisure facilities. It is also a long way from anywhere, even Kings Cross, the nearest tube stop, was a long walk.

The hotel is tired, the room was tiny (corner room),and needed a re-furb. I could hear the family next door through the walls which was annoying. The onsite pool/gym.spa/sauna facilities are excellent. Breakfast was mid range - well suited to groups and families, rather than corporates.

The decor of the rooms were dated, the price did not include breakfast, the bedside lamp looked as if the flex had been burnt, which did not give me confidence in the electrics in the room! the staff were nice, too far from tube if you have a small family or have walking difficulties, or are tired! it did not reflect a 4 star hotel to me.

enjoyed very much. Not as close to where w wanted to be. That was my mistake. Moved us very quickly, when we found there was no hot water in the room. It was lovely to get up in the morning and be able to have a swim and sauna, at a small cost.

I found the hotel wasn't well positioned to a tube station and not in the best bit of bloomsbury. I can't understand why staff aren't more helpful when asked to amend the booking to add on breakfast even when cost wasn't a problem.This is the first hotel I have stayed at throughout the world that I have been charged an additional cost for myself and […] family to go for a swim in the morning. I was surprise as the rating was not as good as it was for me. Room size was good for 4 people with 8 luggage we manage to do that , staff was helpful with our questions. Hotel is not that close to king cross train station but was not bad as there is a bus number 63 going back and forth to the station.
