We (2 adults + 1 child) stayed here 3 days before our cruise from Rome (Civitavecchia) and 1 day after. Very pleased with the hotel and would come again. Staff pleasant and helpful. Rooms and bathrooms clean, tidy and spacious, high ceiling and interior oozes old classy charm. Free quite fast wi-fi internet for hotel guests. Good central location, close to Terminal station, 15-20 min walk to most of the famous sights. Breakfast buffet quite good and the coffee machine, although automatic, makes an almost perfect cappuchino... for us a BIG PLUS. Some nice restaurants in the vicinity like the Gallo Matto, 5 minutes walk down on Cavour. Just a little minus: Bed mattresses a bit hard for my taste, but slept well anyway.

Pros: - Great location (Colosseum, super market and good restaurants) - Friendly and very helpful staff. - Clean rooms - Computer with internet access in each room. Cons: The only cons that I can think of are: - Very little floor space to store luggage (Minor problem) - Breakfast was only a croissant and a water/cafe at a bakery near by. Would be great if there were some fruits as well. But this hotel is perfect for a couple that are looking for a relatively cheap hotel in a great location! I would recommend this hotel to any couple and if I go back to Rome I would use this hotel again.

Location was pretty good near the city center, about 10 min. bus ride. Staff was very helpful and kind. The room was very nice but the air conditioning was poor. Free internet connection, but it did not work in the room though.

"Hotel Memphis Rome - Exellent location in Rome"
We spent 4 nights in middle of April at Hotel Memphis. It's location makes this a number one choice in Rome City center, close to many places worth seeing and the metro station. Rooms are small but comfortable, nice bathrooms and good cleaning. The hotel is located in a small street with small traffic. Can be recomended!

"Memphis Hotel - bug bites"
We stayed at this hotel for two nights in March. Upon entering the hotel, the lobby is updated and looks new and renovated. When we got to the room, it was a little outdated in terms of decor relative to what we saw in the lobby, but nothing that we couldn't live with. The size of the room was pretty large compared to other hotels we have stayed at […] in Europe, and the bathroom looked very nice (although, when we were checking in, we heard someone complaining that the water in the bath would not turn off). The staff was friendly and I would have had no complaints about the hotel, except that when we left, my wife and I both had numerous bites all over our legs. "Hotel Memphis-Perfecto location!!"
I booked this hotel not knowing anything about the location. When I arrived to check in, I was thrilled to discover that I was literally surrounded by everything anyone would want to see during their first trip to Rome. The hotel itself is tucked into a little street that created a quiet environment. For the most part, the staff were friendly and helpful. […] However, the man who worked nights was condescending and rude. It was obvious that he wanted to be left alone even when I was having trouble with the tv in my room. The room itself was cozy and cute, with just the perfect amount of room for 1 person. However, the bed was extremely uncomfortable and the bedspread was worse as it was made out of some kind of denim fabric that was super itchy. But overall, I would definitely stay here again. "Clean and convenient"
Excellent location and very clean hotel. Close to trevi fountain and spanish steps. 10 minute walk to the colosseum and forum. Nice breakfast in the morning. Rooms are very small but have everything. Bathroom is lovely. No free wi-fi in lobby as advertised. No hotel bar.

"The Memphis Hotel, Rome"
For the price paid the hotel ticked all the boxes. No room with a view but very comfortable modern rooms, with a good breakfast included, and very friendly staff. I did request a twin room but was allocated a double. Problem resolved immediately without fuss. The only downside was no free wi-fi provision anywhere. Management say that it will be free […] in the high season...?? That raises a number of questions / issues for me. Very close to trevi fountain and Berberini metro station so good enough location with quite a few local restaurants and cafes close by. Lesa meira

we couldnt sleep at night becous the noise from the room mear us. also the air condition didnt work well and the service wasnt nice or pleasent. the location is great.and the hotel decorat very nice.

Good location, good staff, good breakfast. Surcharges for things like internet are quite pricey. Bathroom door was broken. Overall it's a pretty decent hotel and in a good location.

The Memphis is the hidden Gem of Rome's hotel. Nice and comfortable rooms, amaze in the size of its bathroom which includes a large bathtub...compare to other Europe Hotels. Excellent breakfast to kick up the tour day. Near the Termini station, spagnola plaza and Trevi fountain. Quite hidden place. Sure I'll be back the next time at Rome

The staff all spoke English and were helpful (when asked) which was nice, the complimentary breakfast was very good and the housekeeping was great, however the shower was the size of your body (and I am just 5'7 and 130 lbs) so my elbows continued to hit the sides as I showered and if you didn't want to wash your hair one day, forget it...you were getting […] wet. "One of the best hotel in Rome"
Location , Quality of hotel service , Cleanliness of your room , are great . Surrounding neighbourhood are close to most of the attraction . The breakfast is nice too . The staff is really lovely. The room is really too samll .

We were looking for a 4 star hotel and were very pleased to find this one with a really good customer feedback. The hotel was in really good location, all the main attractions were close and in walking distance. Personnel was also really helpful and friendly, rarely you find personnel like this. BUT, hotel was not a four star hotel; there were only […] plastic glasses available, no bathrobe at all, not a proper hairdryer, no iron either ironing board and only english tv channels were cnn and bbc. We had only a basic room, maybe the other rooms might have better amenities..?? I would recommend this hotel for someone looking for a simple clean three star hotel but if you wait for more, you'll be disappointed. Lesa meira
"Hotel Memphis"
This hotel is clean and modern, especially the bathroom. We got a triple although there were only two of us and it was quite comfortable. It's on a side street so don't expect a view, you probably won't be in it except to rest or sleep anyway! Our room was ready for us at 9 AM which made it very convenient for us to rest for a minute before we walked […] around. Easy for us to get back to so we could get ready for a tour of the Colosseum which was walking distance (give yourself time to get lost) and even closer to the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. We left at 7 AM the next morning so we did not have a chance to eat the breakfast that was included. Very nice receptionist and they did have a bellman that helped us with our luggage. Lesa meira

Pros: great location, clean Cons: shower infinitesimally small, half the people wouldn't fit in without banging elbows; internet very expensive and often very slow; desk staff not very friendly or helpful, any of them All-in-all: significantly overpriced for what you get
"Close to Train"
Was blown away after staying at so many sub-par hotels in Italy. The room was rather spacious, very clean and quiet. Great new windows kept the noise out. Also had the best breakfast of any hotel during my two week stay in Italy.

This hotel was difficult to find. Very small but newly updated. 3 of us shared a room. Bathroom was really nice. The breakfast area and food was great. Excellent service by the staff in that area. The male staff at the front desk was not very helpful. Kind of a jerk when we asked about tipping in the restaurants. We spent little time in the room. Located on a small back street we were a little nervous what the Memphis would have in store for us. Desk staff were ready for and us and very friendly. Room was very small but very clean. Continental breakfast was wonderful, especially Fabrizio's cappuccino! We were able to walk to all of the local sites with ease.

"Good location for reaching the major sights"
Hotel Memphis is set off a main street in what looks like a small alley. Although I was originally a bit concerned about the location, I quickly realized that all of the major sites are easily accessible from the Hotel Memphis. The metro is approximately 2 blocks away and is very easy to reach. It is also very easy to walk to the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, […] and Spanish Steps from the hotel. The hotel room was a fairly standard European hotel room that included two twin beds pushed together to create a larger bed. The room was clean and the air conditioning worked well. The only problem I had was that the shower in our bathroom did not drain properly. The hotel included a lovely continental breakfast every morning of our stay. Hotel Memphis is a convenient place to stay if you want to see the major sights in Rome. Lesa meira

New and clean, this was my second stay here and it is about 200m from the Trevi Fountain. Nice breakfast and great friendly staff. The room was small but we tried not to be in it.
"Modern hotel in the heart of Rome"
We enjoyed our stay at the Memphis. Our room was clean, not very spacious, but good enough. The bathroom was spotless and very modern. The location is excellent, 10 to 15 min. walk to Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and Via Venetto. I highly recommend.

Small room but they all are in Rome, to be expected and you don't need more than that. Hotel was recently renovated, nice. Prime location, just a few minutes walk from Trevi fountain and right next to Metro Barbarini. Was clean and staff provided good service; we ask to change room in order to be on a higher floor (versus ground floor) and they obliged […] the next day when a room became available for us. Too small even for one night. It should be a 3 star hotel. Uncomfortable beds and I got a skin rash, possible bed bug.

I found this hotel to be overall a good bargain for the money in Rome. The location was decent [though the cab had some difficulty getting into the actual lane the hotel is on]. The lobby could use some design update - it didn't make the best first impression, but the staff was nice and the room was very comfortable and came with a nice little patio. "Good location but bad hotel"
Overall the rooms were ok with newer bathrooms. However, the walls were extremely thin, the bed comforter wasn't really a comforter and similar to fabric from an old couch and the room looked out into a dark alley. The front desk staff were extremely unhelpful. They couldn't give dining suggestions and they didn't seem to know where things were located […] when I asked for directions. On top of that there was no wifi in the lobby or rooms. Do not waste your money on this place and find a better hotel. Lesa meira
"Not what we expected fromt the description"
1. This is not a 4-star hotel but 3-star hotel--it has no setting whatsoever but is a small narrow hotel situated in the middle of a dark narrow street. 2. The location was convenient and the rooms were clean, with renovated bathrooms. 3. However, the standard queen room was dark, looked out over a dark alley-way. The walls were tissue-paper thin and […] you could hear people in other rooms. 4. The staff was extremely unhelpful. We asked the front desk where this new museum Maxxi was, and the woman had no idea what we were talking about; they could not print out our boarding pass, even though most hotels will do that for you; the wifi didn't work in the lobby; in general, the front desk was not particularly pleasant at all. 5. Very friendly and helpful staff through out our stay! clean and decent size room, breakfast and morning coffee were very nice, ideal location, walking distance to all the major sights including the vatican and the colloseum both only 10minutes walks! would highly recommend and definetly stay again!

"Perfekt läge"
Litet hotell med små rum. Frukosten kunde varit bättre. Perfekt läge med gångavstånd till många sevärdheter. Fräscht och rent. Servicen godkänd.

Hotellet ligger godt placeret midt i Rom tæt på seværdigheder og hyggelige områder med cafeeer og restauranter (lige til højre og venstre for hotellet ligger der to gode italienske restauranter med fornuftige priser). Boede på enkeltværelse som var meget lille, men i god stand. God morgenmad med fin betjening.
"Supersentralt"
Vi bodde tre netter på dette supersentrale hotellet, som ligger mellom trevifontenen og spansketrappen. Gangavstand til serverdigheter som Pantheon, Peterskirken, sixtinske kapell og Colosseum. Mange gode restauranter i umiddelbar nærhet. Frokost og service på hotellet er meget bra. Det eneste som trekker ned på hotellet er meget små rom og til tider […] noe kaldt vann i dusjen. Alt i alt et kjempebra hotell som vi absolutt kan anbefale videre til andre. Lesa meira

"go belliggenhed, dyrt ophold, dårlig service"
Lille hotel med ualmindelig dårlig service - specielt i receptionen. Helt ligeglad med forespørgsler om praktiske ting - og kom med flere urigtige oplysninger, som fik os på 2 lange spildte ture. Hotellet var dyrt og i vores bekræftelse stod der "vindue eller balkon mod byen". Vi fik et værelse med et højtliggende vindue ud til 2x2 meter hul med en […] samling store rør. "Tæt på seværdigheder"
Central beliggende hotel der giver mulighed for en pause på hotellet uden spild af lang transport tid. God morgenmad. Eneste minus var kold vand i hanen en enkelt morgen ud af 4 overnatninger.

"Rigtig god central beliggenhed"
Hotellet har en særdeles god og central beliggenhed - tæt på metroen og med gåafstand til Trevi-fontænen. Der er mange cafeer, restautanter og butikker i nabolaget. Det skal nævnes at sengen på hotellet var så hård at vi begge havde ondt i hofterne og store trykmærker efter at have ligget i den - desuden er værelserne alt for små !!!

Fiont lille hotel. Meget godt placeret. Renlighed i topklasse. God morgenbuffet i behagelige omgivelser.
