The hotel location and cleanliness level was acceptable, but not the cheap, old, worn out springs mattress, wrinkled, sticky carpet, electrical tape over light switches, and worn out, thift store decor. The lobby was creepy with vines attached over the entire ceiling, like being in a jungle. Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom door wouldn't close all the way--hinges stiff. Free continental breakfast was good and the desk clerk was very courteous and nice. The location is very cconvenient to downtown Dahlonega.

Visiting Univ. of N. Georgia with my son. Simple, clean accommodations at a low price. You can walk to the campus and downtown Dahlonega. Breakfast was not so good. Just cereal, buns and really bad coffee. Some fruit, hard boiled eggs and better coffee would be a great improvement. I would stay there again, just eat breakfast elsewhere. we had a non-smoking room that smelled of stale cigarett smoke and tried to mask the smell with candles. There was a wrapped sausage left on the floor by the bed, making me wonder about the cleanliness . . .

You get what you pay for. Room was non-smoking yet smelled like an ash tray... Beds were 15+ years old... Drywall needed massive repairs... Overall, even I was disappointed. My wife, on the other hand, was disgusted....

Very nice for the price. The front desk clerk was very polite, told us to call if we needed anything. I had prepaid for the room when I booked, but took out my credit card when I checked in, as most places require it as a guarantee against "incidentals." The clerk said no need. Also, although we didn't need it, the hotel was pet friendly and we saw […] quite a few people with dogs coming and going. It was too cold for the pool or "spa" mentioned in the hotel's ad, so I can't comment on those. But we just needed a clean, inexpensive place to stay the night while visiting North Georgia College down the road and this hotel was perfect. Would definitely stay there again. Lesa meira

The room was not clean. There was hair in the tub and in the bed. The facility was in disrepair and I didn't feel safe. The room had an odor that smelled of mold and mildew. I don't think my allergies would have survived.

The room smelled terrible; similar to incense and perfume! The pillows were flat as a pancake and the bed was very lumpy. The coffee maker was on top of the microwave and the cord was so short, it would not reach the outlit to plug it in. Therefore, it had to be taken to the counter where the sink is in order to brew a cup of coffee. There is string […] all over the ceiling in the lobby of the hotel where vines gallore are growing. Room was clean - rate was cheap. That's where it began and ended. You stay here to sleep - nothing more. There is no breakfast - period. The coffee is watery and the orange juice has been watered-down as well. The cereal and pastries have been bought at Walmart and put in dispensors. The milk was from Walmart. The "business center" was an computer workstation […] and a monitor from 1990. There is no business-center. Everything on earth has been done to minimize expenses by the hotel owner/manager. That said, there is a McDonalds next door 50 yards away. The rooms are clean and the location is fantastic. There is a Starbucks downtown only about 1 mile away - on campus actually. It fit my need for a place to bed-down for the evening. If you expect anything more, you'll be disappointed. Worked fine for me though. Lesa meira

I have stayed in some unseemly places before on business trips, but I have never stayed in a place so blatantly disgusting. There were large brown stains on the box spring , the towels were falling a part and left a tiny white pieces of fuzz on you. There were circular holes in the wall that had a vent cover screwed on over them. The location was good […] but I will never stay there again. This is an older property and the wear shows. The room was a bit small, the beds were very firm - to the point of not so comfortable, and the bathroom was tiny. It served the purpose of a place to sleep because I didn't make reservations early enough to be somewhere else. I reported this to some website already. Upon entering the room you could tell someone had been smoking in it. We had to go to the desk to get toilet paper. The bed sheets had a cigarette burn in them. When my husband got out of the shower he told me there was a mat over what he is sure was a big hole in the bathtub floor (his foot could sink into it.) […] We skipped breakfast because he said the breakfast room smelled like curry. We requested a non smoking room, but were given a smoking room. There were stains on the sheet and boxspring, the sink looked dirty because the enamel was chipped.

sorry, but this was one of the worst places I have ever seen. The rooms smelled weird, probably the mold on the ceiling from an old leak. There were holes in towels. General condition was run down.

While it was definitely not the Hilton, our room was very clean. It offered several amenities we did not expect, such as a desk, microwave, and mini-fridge. The staff was the friendliest of anywhere I've ever been.

I believe for the price that I paid that I would get all that was advertised, but unfortunatly this was not the case. The breakfast bar that was advertised was nothing but a stale small cinnimon roll and some month old ceral. I dont belive that having the amenities include having to sit in the apt the owner had designed as the front office or a computer […] that was older than me. The supposed internet wi -fi was so hard to get on and stay on was nothing but a linksys home router for all the rooms. The office personel could not understand me and had no idea about my stay or how long i would be there when i went to check in.I am sorry to say this but I have stayed in better for less. Lesa meira

We chose this hotel due to its lower price compared to the other hotels nearby. It is an older hotel that has been updated, but is showing a little bit of its age. The room had a nice size fridge and a microwave. We did not have breakfast at this hotel because our conference offered it. A McDonalds is adjacent to this hotel.

Not at all pleased. I know to expect less than stellar accommodations for the price I pay at Super 8, but my concerns are valid and are beyond my low expectations. Our A/C unit worked well...the room was cool, but it pulsed loudly and woke me several times through the night. The breaker popped when my son used the microwave. We had to have the manager […] reset the breaker and then turn all the lights and electronics off so he could finish his cooking. The desk staff barely speaks English. The lobby smells awful and has houseplants EVERYWHERE including all over the ceiling. It was so hot in there. I felt like I was walking into a stinky rain forest when I entered the lobby. The breakfast selection was horrendous. There was VERY little from which to choose and the coffee was the color of tea. A hold was placed on my credit card in the amount of the room price (which had already been paid, obviously) and has not yet been released. We checked out on Monday and today is Thursday. The hold is still there. I am waiting to see if it finally falls off or if it actually processes and I will need to *attempt* to speak to the management. Finally, though the pool was clean, we had to watch as a family was kicked out of the pool since their three hour rental was up. Lesa meira

Seeing this motel from the road is a bit tricky. Coming from Dawsonville, it's hard to spot; you have to pull into the McDonald's and loop around. However, once we actually got in, we found the front desk guy very nice and friendly. Upon first trying to open the door, my boyfriend discovered the built-in security feature - The floor is so warped and […] the carpet is piled so thick he had to slam his body into the door to move it. The door also had the same problem in the bathroom. However, had anyone attempted a break-in, I am fairly confident they would have given up. While the room was clean, the smell of smoke was pretty strong, even for a smoking room. The comforter had burn holes. The motif was rather dated, and the carpet, wallpaper, decorations, and analog cable were quite dated, but functional. Unlike many motels, this place still offered the free pen, paper, and enough shampoo without having to ask. We were not rushed out and harassed at check-out time even though we were a little slow to leave. This place is staffed exclusively staffed by family, including the maids, which made me a little more comfortable leaving valuables in the room. The continental breakfast was lackluster. There was not enough food. I took three of four remaining muffins. There were two honey buns and troughs of Froot Loops and Raisin Bran, as well as juice and coffee. At 9 AM, I expect more food, but in fairness, they had some people who looked like they could pack it away. Lesa meira

A hole in the shower floor was covered up with a non-slip mat, but you could tell there was a hole just by stepping on it. Breakfast was pretty pathetic. I enjoyed my stay at Super 8, however, they game me smoking room because nonsmoking was not available. I could not get smell out, I spray Febreze, Lysol, and I tried everything. Instead my cloths started smell like smoke. Furniture was really old and dainty. But room was clean, sheets was clean. My bed was comfortable, and I get the rest I needed.

I used Expedia.com and check-in was a breeze. Hotel is a bit dated. I requested a non-smoking room and did not smell any odors in the room. It was hot and AC seemed to work fine. This is an old property that is close to downwown Dahlonega with just a few min's drive away No thermastat on AC, so it was either very cold or warm during the night if we had to shut off to make it quiter to sleep. Offering for continental breakfast is below average and there were a lot of ants all over food counter. .

Staff provided good service and was friendly... Unfortunately Hotel is in poor condition. Hair dryer did not work- Staff provided another. Two different electrical outlets did not work- Kind of inconvenient recharging phones and camera batteries... Pillows were very flat and soft. Staff provided several more very flat and worn pillows. Bed linen towels […] very used and had holes. TV had very poor picture and sound quality. Cleanliness was fair- some cob-webs and dust. Breakfast was cereal, some bananas, sweet rolls and coffee. That I could afford anyway. Room was old and didn't seem very clean. Flies and knats flying around everywhere. I could see daylight through the doorjam so didn't feel very safe. Hotel had approximately 40 rooms and maybe a dozen of those were filled but of course we were all blocked together, people partying on one side of me and people gettin down […] in the other. To top it off, there's a knock on the door at ten am as im getting ready to checkout, it's the manager, just as I approach the door to open it I heard it unlock. When I opened the door there's the manager, key in hand asking if I was checking out. Checkout isn't until 11 and he was going to come in my room!!! That is unacceptable!! The bed was hard as a rock and so was the pillow. The breakfast was very little and when I used the microwave it started to smoke and the hotel agent was very rude towards me accusing me of operating it wrongly. I won't stay there again nor will I recommend this hotel.
