"Worst hotel I've ever stayed at"
This could be one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. When I entered teh room there was a half "full" bottle of Dr. Pepper on the TV. Weird, otherwise the room seemed to have been cleaned. In the bathroom there were about 30-40 small winged insects flopping around. I turned on the shower and washed them down the drain, but the ceiling above the […] shower was "dropped ceiling tiles" and they wre kind of hanging open a bit. So I was grossed out by the shower and unwilling to try for a shower in it. If at all possible avoid this place. Stay over in Marion or Carbondale, it's worth the 20 minute drive! Overall we were pleased with our stay at Super 8. There was no elevator tot he 2nd floor and for seniors it was difficult climbing the stairs - we had one with a heart problem and another with a bad ankle. We were among the earliest to check in but weren't offered a room on the ground floor which would have been much more satisfactory. The bed needed to be newer. we sunk in . The breakfast could have had something hot such as a waffle maker like we've seen in other super 8's. Guests were smoking in the hallway with nonsmoking rooms. That was rough on my sinuses. That shouldn't be allowed. The staff should have been there 24 hours. "Convenient and clos to the sights in southern illi"
The manager of the hotel is accommodating and has a cheerful personality. Hotel is located at the gateway to the Shawnee National forest and the Garden of the Gods. Inexpensive compared to others in the area. BASIC SHELTER. No Pool!!!!!Ósvikin umsögn gests á Hotels.com
