I arrived by train during the daylight, and easily walked to the hotel. There were signs directing the way to the hotel, which was greatly appreciated. Once at the hotel, I walked to the duomo area and shopped and had great pizza. I made sure I got back to hotel before dark. I took a taxi to airport in the am. "Mercure Hotel, Naples"
Hotel manager Genaro was one of the nicest people you are ever likely to come across. He made us feel extremely welcome and was spot on with tips for places to eat and things see around Naples. Reception staff more than helpful when it came to advice, eg how to get to Pompei and more than happy to book taxis to get from a to b. A couple of nice places […] to eat within a 5 minute stroll of the hotel - but I really do mean only a couple (take a right outside the hotel - at the very end of that street turn left and about 50 metres on the left is a very good restaurant). Unfortunately being so close to the main train terminal means it is not the nicest of areas!! Our first thoughts were "let's get the hell outta here" but so long as you have your wits about you and aren't out alone you should be fine. Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the main central train terminal (Piaza Garibaldi). We got fleeced by a cab driver for 15 Euros!! No need to take a cab unless you have lots of luggage - come out of the main terminal and head in a 10 o clock direction and you can't go wrong! Spacious and comfortable twin room and despite being so close to the railway tracks we both had a comfortable nights sleep. There were a few marks on the walls which made the room look a little shabby but we had a room on the ground floor which doubles as one for wheelchair users hence some scuff marks - not enough to make the room feel dirty in any way though. Would definitely use the hotel again if only for a base in Naples should I ever need to pass through that City again. Good continental breakfast provided in the morning. Greeted in the restaurant by happy smiling staff which also makes a big differenece while you are away. Top marks to the management, staff and hotel but shame about the area... Lesa meira

Very good value. Hotel room was modern and comfortable; shower was large compared to European standard. Staff was very helpful. There is lot of construction going on in Piazza Garibaldi, which made it difficult to find the hotel at first, but once inside the hotel, we liked it. "A diamond in the very rough area of Naples"
Naples is a dirty place, but we were relieved to find our hotel was clean, modern and classy. I would recommend this hotel. Ac was nice and strong which is key in August.

Great location near the station, albeit somewhat seedy (though Naples just is, by all accounts. Also fascinating though). Nice ordinary business hotel. Functional and clean with helpful staff. Makes a change from other, more beutiful but erratic hotels in Italy. Very helpful staff, and free internet for 3 hours. Good stuff.
"Great location for transport and awesome hotel"
Hotel was perfect and a great change from a hostel, we felt like we were being treated like king and queen. A red hot bath really goes down well after a long day out. Great location near buses and trains as its very near to the terminal, we didn't hear a single train or noise from our room which was fantastic. Staff we're really friendly and helpful, […] room was immaculate and the fridge came in handy for our water. Would definately stay here again and have been recommending to friends and family, provide good free wi-fi and pc if needed and also an outside sitting area. 5 Stars, will be coming back in the future. This is a good hotel which is very close to the railway station and it has a couple of very nice eateries close by. There are also quite a few shoe stores nearby for those who just can't resist a bargain!

We were a little concerned about the neighborhood but we didn't have any trouble with anyone while we were there. It was quite a walk from the center of town and for that matter the cleaner part of town. The hotel itself was very clean and nice and the desk staff was very nice. This hotel is close to the main railway station and while the surrounding area is typical Naples it was not as had as I had read about. Stayed there for 1 night on the way to the Amalfi Coast. Simple and clean hotel, walking distance to Naples' main train station (Stazione di Napoli Centrale) and Piazza Garibaldi. Recommended! "Mercure Girabaldi - Good, despit first impressions"
Our first impressions of this hotel were not good-We arrived on a Sunday afternoon, and walked past and had to walk past lost of shady looking characters lounging around in a rubbish infested street. (We soon realised that this was just typical Naples. The hotel receptuionist who booked us in was uninterested to say the least-On the plus side, all the […] other receptionists we dealt with were cheerful and very helpful. One gave us directions to a nearby Trattoria that served great pizza, large bottles of Peroni beer cheaper than anywhere else in Italy, and as a bonus for the ladies, the waiter was a George Clooney look-alike. Other pluses - a good Italian breakfast with a wide choice. the rooms had a fridge, were clean and the bathrooms were a good size with a bath. tThe hotel was minutes from the train station and tram stop. Only complaint was the lack of adequate air conditioning -and iof you left the window open, you were quickly reminded that there were train tracks right next door. Stiill, it was the cheapest priced hotel we stayed in in Italy, and was far from the worst, so it gave good value for money. We booked the pret a porter rate and were given free one day transport passes -a nice touch Lesa meira

Very conveniently located close to the train station in Naples but a bit of a sketchy neirghborhood. We just avoided coming back to the hotel too late. The room was very comfortable and clean. We needed a hotel for 1 night close to the train station and this was perfect!

This hotel offers good value a clean room and professional service at a location extremely close to Naples main train station. The only downsides are that it is at the end of a side street which appears to be populated by shoe wholesale outlets and which is clogged by parked cars in the daytime and that the hotel backs onto a local railway line so depending […] on your room you may hear/feel trains in the morning/evening. "I love Mercures"
The Mercure in Naples is truly a diamond in the rough. You wouldnùt expect to find a hotel of this quality and at this price so close to the train station. We walked there after arriving from Rome by rail and it took us less than 5 minutes. The streets are littered with trash and prostitutes but it was charming in a way. The staff members at the desk […] were incredibly nice and helpful. They told us which train to take to get to Pompeii and what area of town to go to during the evening to enjoy the nightlife. There is even a free shuttle provided by the hotel which takes you to the other Mercure about 10 minutes away. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The shower was great and I even used the bidet! I would stay at this hotel again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it. Lesa meira

"ナポリ中央駅近くのビジネスホテル"
ナポリ空港へ早朝にアクセスする必要があるため、1泊のみ宿泊。中央駅の近くだが、ホテルは奥まった路地裏にあり、周囲の治安はお世辞にも良いとはいえない。 ホテル自体は小さなビジネスホテル。アメニティも最小限で、シャワーブースのみ。Wi-Fiは3時間のみ無料。セキュリティボックスは部屋にあるが、ルームキー代わりのカードか、宿泊者自身のクレジットカードを使って鍵をかけるタイプ。ルームキーでは動作しなかったので仕方なくクレジットカードを利用したが、スキミングされているようで良い気分はしない。

"No ospiti in camera"
Colazione discreta/buona. Staff cordiale. Meglio evitare camere ai piani alti perché il passaggio del treno si sente. Dintorni non esaltanti ma molto comodo per la stazione centrale. Moquette sui pavimenti da rifare del tutto. Purtroppo non è possibile avere ospiti in camera.

家族３人で２泊しました。一番の利点は、中央駅に近いこと。徒歩５分で、重い荷物を持っての移動には、とても便利な立地でした。また、朝食は、とてもおいしくいただけました。特に、ＷＭＦのコーヒーメーカーでつくるカプチーノは最高でした。また、メトロ・バス・トラム１日券をいただけたので、お得に市内観光もできました。ホテル近くには、安くておいしいピッツェリアや、マーケットもあり、また、ポンペイ行きの電車の駅もすぐそばで、何かと便利でした。周辺にも☆☆☆の表示のあるホテルがいくつかありましたが、わたしは、メルキュールホテルをおススメします。

Das Hotel Mercur Garribaldi liegt in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Hauptbahnhof von Neapel. Man kann zu Fuß mit Bus und Metro gut die Sehenswürdigkeiten erreichen.

L'accueil est très agréable et l'hôtel présente un très bon rapport qualité/prix, mais la proximité de la gare centrale cause beaucoup de bruit. C'est donc un hôtel recommandable pour une nuit, mais pas plus, sous peine de ne pas bien dormir...

Hyggelige mennesker i resepsjonen og i restaurant. God informasjon og servise. Vannkoker på rommet. Det eneste av de 5 hotellene vi besøkte i Italia på vår ferie. Gratis metrobillett fikk vi også i tillegg til tilbud om å beholde rommet etter Pompeibesøk på avreisedagen uten ekstrautgifter, slik at vi kunne dusje før avreise klokken 16.00.

"Mal localizado"
O hotel esta localizado proximo a uma linha de trem. Como o principal acesso esta em obras, o acesso eh muito dificil. Por ser um hotel 3 estrelas, eh imperdoavel a falta de disponibilidade para ateh pequenos lanches, coisa que o Ibis, linha 3 estrelas da mesma rede, oferece. Fora isto o hotel esta no bom nivel dos hoteis da rede.

"Un rapport qualite/prix imbattable, dans un triste"
Des prestation hotelieres (presque) parfaites ( il faudrait changer les moquettes, et ne pas laisser fumer dans les chambres) , dans un quartier en chantier total, submerge de poubelles, loin du centre, et un peu triste. Sinon, tres peu de bruit, et chambres agreables.
Nel complesso, benchè sia in zona centralissima , tutto bene. Si spera che finiscano presto i lavori di urbanizzazione nelle zone adiacenti.

まず、ホテルの案内の文言を私たちは信じますが、朝食がいいという文を観ましたが、最低です。パン自体がまずく種類が少ない。ハム1種、チーズ1種、いくらconrinentalでもこんなのは初めてです。バスタブを想像していましたがこれも私のミスかもしれませんが、なくて要求したら変更してもらいましたが、今度は狭くて、スーツケースが開けられない状態です。フロントのstaffほとんど女性でしたが、先にも書いたがcheck inに長時間かかり、何か聞いても非常に的確でなく、意地悪です。 私は英語ですがほとんど初めからイタリア語で返し、あとで英語でまくしたてます。 パソコンを借りましたが、その時もすごく迷惑そうに対処します。イタリア語でしか出てこないバージョンで困りました。

El hotel nos gustó mucho. Los alrededores nos causaron una mala impresión al llegar, pero resultó ser tranquilo. Muy bueno el servicio de transfer al centro, aunque sólo es por la tarde. El estar cerca de la estación y plaza Garibaldi es muy conveniente para ir a Pompeya u otros lugares de interés.
