The Paddington Hotel – London

If you're the type who's looking for a 4 or 5 star hotel, this is not for you. If you're comfortable staying at a no-frills kind of hotel, this is probably the best value. Yes, the building is a little old and could use some handywork or remodeling (nicks and dents around doors, etc), but everything does function. For a London hotel, it was more spacious […] than I anticipated (although the bathroom and shower were definitely on the small side). Bed was a little on the stiff side. Free breakfast downstairs was better than most: cereal, hard boiled eggs, toast, croissants, yogurt, coffee, juice, cheese. Excellent location-- close to 2 Tube stations (Paddington and Lancaster Gate) that make it easy to get wherever you want to go. Neighborhood was relatively quiet, but if you're a light sleeper, you may want earplugs just in case. Walking distance to several wonderful restaurants. No alarm clock in the room, but the staff is happy to set a wake-up call. Lesa meira

Hotel is in an excellent location and offers very eay access from Heathrow Airport and is right on Paddington Train Station. The location is also first class for exploring Central London. The staff were first class and the breakfast was just spot on with an excellent choice.

So it's not super fancy and the room is small but for the price I paid it was perfect. It's in an awesome location, like a 5min walk from paddington station which is awesome if you need to get to the airport quickly. Paddington station has a Heathrow express train something like every 20min. The reception was very helpful with my overweight luggage. […] Its true there is no elevator but they had someone carry my 29kilo bag up 5 flights for me. Nice staff, ok but small room. I read some complaints about traffic in reviews prior to out stay, but that didn't bother us. The room faced the street, but the traffic was no problem at all. Stayed for 3 nights, will have no doubts about staying here again. Great value for money and very good location. Very good value for money. Clean hotel room, breakfast included - a real bonus. Very convenient for Paddington station, train directly from Heathrow to Paddington, then a short walk to the hotel. No luxury, but clean and convenient. On the negative side: bed is a bit too hard, rooms are not very sound proofed and kettle didn't work in my room. On the […] other side: Have had worse beds in hotels twice the price, only one other room on my floor so not many rooms to get noise from and to be fair- I probably would have had another kettle if I asked for it. The biggest problem was having a room in the 7th floor with no elevator. We are two 20-year-old girls and still had a lot of trouble, especially with our luggage.

A nice hotel, with a great location and very nice staff and great service all day and night. Clean and nice room, though I found the bed a little hard (but my boyfriend thought it was fine - I guess it depends on your position of sleeping). Very nice continental buffet breakfast, with croissants, toast, egg, lots of different cereal/müsli, yoghurt, […] fruit, tea and two kinds of juice. My boyfriend and I were very satisfied with this hotel. Great buy for the cheap price, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants to go to London and not spend all the money on a hotel. Location is the best, 3 station (on the red line) to Oxford circus and you can also walk to Paddigton (this is where you get the Heatrhow Express). Staff are nice and friendly. Room are not the best but you get all you need and for the price you pay here in London, I must say it's fine. Check in is at 2pm but you can leave your bags before and go down […] town. The bad thing for me was the checkout at 11pm which I was not aware of. So when you come back from London crazy night you like to sleep late the next day. the paddington hotel is located very close to hyde park and the lancaster gate tube stop on the central line only a couple stops away from bond street and oxford circus stops. the hotel room itself was clean but very small. which was fine since i've stayed in other hotel rooms across europe before and know this is standard. this was a great stay because […] of the convinence of this location. the bed wasn't the most comforatble but it wasn't awful. the tv only had about 6 channels which was very basic and wished i could have watched a little bit more english telly but again, i wasn't in london to watch television. overall i would definitely recommend this location to a friend and i would love to stay here again. My room was in the 7 floor and not elevator, not internet in the room and the breakfast was not good...

Pros - Good service, location close to two Underground stops, clean. Cons - Only one key per room making it difficult if you and your traveling partner are leaving/returning at different times.

- Clean and central. - Staff very nice. - Breakfast ok, nothing extraordinary, but the usual toast and tea. - Very close to tube station, central line.

Overall satisfied. Breakfast nice. Only negative was bedspread nasty. Close to Lancaster gate tube and paddington station. Front desk nice and extremely helpful. Thanks.

Staff was very nice. Bed was fine, room was large enough for 2 people. It was good for the price.

Unprepared staff, dirty sheets, thin walls, lacking breakfast and rock hard bed. The staff was still cleaning when we checked in an hour after checkin time and I am not honestly sure what they did clean. The sheets appeared clean but the blanket was fithly. To the point you did not want to touch it. The entire room from floors to walls to the beds creak […] you can literally hear your every neighbors movement as though they were in your room. turned up and was greeted by workmen laying new carpets..had to step over new and old carpets just to get in the front door..room was built for the land of lilliput..if your under 5ft and 10 st then this is the hotel for you.. a simple thing like walking to the toilet was an obstacle course.. breathe in,mind the tv,watch the bed.. room was clean. doors […] to balcony could of been easily kicked in by a toddler..no remote control for tv. breakfast was ok,couldn't smell bacon,sausage etc etc so had to make do with cereal, i'll give this hotel 5/10 and thats because i wanted to be near hyde park,which it wasn't far away Lesa meira

Be sure to request a renovated room!!!! There is a big difference. We were moved from our initial room to one of their rooms across the street at the RCA. The room we were given at the RCA was like the one we expected from the pictures on the website. As expected in a big town, the renovated room still wasn't super spacious, but was very clean and had […] the necessities. The pillows were thin & hard, but other than than that the room was comfortable. The un-renovated room was very small (just enough room to walk around the bed), carpet & duvet were stained, walls were very banged up... The renovated room had a hardwood type flooring, freshly painted, etc... It was a nice room. The Staff was very nice. Location is convenient to two tube stations, one of which is the Paddington where you can catch trains as well. All in all, it was a nice place to stay. Lesa meira

Worst bed i have EVER slept in, SO lumpy...

Booked on internet over 8 months ago, and no problems. Very handy to Paddington Station, very comfortable and is very good value for money. we have stayed in two other Hotels in the area and this one has impressed us the most.

This was a very nice little hotel at a convenient location in london. The staff was very friendly and the room was nice and clean. The breakfast was quite good continental style. There was no elevator and the TV was pretty bad. But overall, we liked it and would stay again.

I read the other reviews, and thought, I will go in with an open mind. I should have kept it shut! The room, while ample in European eyes, was old, weary, the floor was creaky, the bathroom smaller than I could even imagine. The linens had holes in them. I will also tell anyone coming to London, there are steps everywhere.

Stayed in this hotel for 8 nights. Bathroom was in desperate need of thorough cleaning and updating. Shower had black mildew around the bottom and had no shelving to place soap or shampoo. Tile on wall and floor was cracked and was missing grout. Sink was an aluminum sink bowl that was disgusting. Maid does not clean bathroom... mirror was dirty and […] did not get cleaned. Toilet had dirt spot on top of seat cover that was there all week. Hotel does provide a complimentary fridge, coffee maker, coffee and cup and saucer, silverware, however, maid does not replace dirty dishes. Hotel does not provide room with a booklet on hotel services. I found out on the day of checkout they had free internet service (I had paid local stores for service). I find myself working in London a lot, so finding a cheapish clean secure room was a good find.. I will be back… The room was surprisingly spacious in comparison to other hotels in the area. Not massive, but not a shoe box either… Breakfast was ok..

it is a handy hotel: only 3 blocks away from Paddington station. It is siple, clean and has all what is needed for a tourist: small clean bathroom with towels, shower jel and shampoo. It has tv,fridge with milk, tea, coffee and a kettle.On the negative side: check in is across the road and there is no lift(there are 4 floors). Breakfast is simple(tea, […] coffee, juice, milk, can make cheese/egg sandwiches, cereal,jams, crossants...). Det ligger tæt på the tube, både Lancaster gate men også Paddington. Ikke noget prangende hotel, men hvem kan også forvente det til denne pris.

Absolut nöjd med vistelsen. Bodde två i ett dubbelrum. Det var litet men vad behöver man för rum när hela London finns utanför? Det tar c:a 20 minuter att gå till Oxford st. Inga bed bugs! Rent och fint. Reception bemannad 24h om dygnet. Ovanligt bra "kontinental frukost". Väldigt serviceinriktad personal. Bra! Kommer bo där igen nästa år.

Hotellet er lidt svært at finde, fordi der kun er en brun baldakin midt på en bygning. Selve hotelværelserne ligger på modsatte side af gaden. Hotelværelset er småt men rent, pænt og hyggeligt. God morgenmadsbuffet. På værelset er der en elkeddel, te, nescaf'fé , 2 store tekopper og mælk i køleskabet. Det ligger 4 min. gang fra undergrundsstationen […] Lancaster Gate og Hyde Park - meget centralt. Der er gamle vinduer i bygningen, hvilket gør at der er trafiksøj fra gaden - ørepropper er en god ide. Lesa meira

Hotellet ligger tæt på undergrund, Marbel Arch og Hyde Park og morgenmaden var bedre end forventet. Vi havde et værelse på første sal, men hvis vi havde boet højere - der var nok en 5 - 6 etager - kunne det have givet os problemer at bære bagagen op og ned - der er ingen elevator. Der var desuden en del larm på værelset fra vejen - vågnede en 8 - 10 […] gange de første nætter, og sengene er meget hårde. Hotellet er fint til yngre mennesker, men jeg vil bestemt ikke anbefale det til ældre. Lesa meira

Bode 6 trappor upp utan hiss, fick bära upp väskorna själv. Borde stå med stora bokstäver på hemsidan att hiss saknas med dessa trappor. För varma rum! Frukost nere i källaren. Receptionen på andra sidan gatan besvärligt och krångligt. Inte att rekommendera!

Zimmer war sehr geräumig und wurde jeden tag gereinigt! (auch immer frische Handtücher!) Nervig war allerdings ein lautes Geräusch wenn jemand un dem Stock das Wasser aufdrehte!(auch nachts!) Leider gab es auch keinen Lift...(zimmer im 4.stock!!!) Frühstück war ok(hartgekochte eier,toasts,croissants,marmelade,käse,cornflakes,...) 24h service an der […] rezeption war auch sehr angenehm und die ubahn station war 3min entfernt!!!(genauso wie der hydepark) Alles in allem waren wir seehr zufrieden!!! Vi hadde bestilt ett dobbelrom, men fikk ei suite med 3 soverom, 2 bad, kjøkken og stue på hotellet der resepsjonen til The Paddington hotel ligger. Neste gang bestiller vi den direkte:-)) Og prisen var den samme som for et dobbelrom:-)

BRA LÄGE! Man kan gå till oxford street och Hyde park ligger alldeles intill... det rummet vi fick högst upp var väldigt litet, men såg att andra rum som låg på de andra våningarna var lite större..små dubbelsängar... det var rent och rummen städades varje dag.. frukosten var helt okej, frukt, bröd, yoghurt, musli, juice, möjlk, te, chocklad m.m.... […] En del i personalen var otrevliga medans andra var väldigt snälla... beställde en taxi, fick en svart taxi, så det gick inte betala med kort... Hôtel vieillissant qui nécessite une grande rénovation. Vieille télé ne recevant que 4 chaine à moitié troubles. Chambre occupée n° 701 au RDC, très petite mais calme car côté courette intérieure. Pas de table ni de chaise. Robinet EC du lavabo fonctionnant à l'envers, j'avais jamais vu ce cas. Lit un peu ferme mais correct. Petit déjeuner correct et […] suffisant. Personnel aimable et serviable à la réception, un peu moins pour le personnel au PDJ. En conclusion, hôtel suffisant pour un week-end prolongé car économique pour le quartier. Hotellet var helt ok, lå sentralt. Skulle hatt heis!

Hotellet ligger tæt på Lancaster Gate tube station, og i gåafstand til bl.a Marble Arch og Oxford Street, hvilket gør det til en rigtig god beliggenhed. Receptionen har åbent 24/7, og personalet er utroligt hjælpsomme. Morgenmaden var vi glade for, da der var lidt at vælge i mellem. Værelset var meget lille, og sengen lidt for hård. Man får det man […] betaler for. Men kunne godt finde på at overnatte der igen anden gang. :) Lesa meira

Vi så frem til hotellopphold i London. Vi kom fra Gdansk i Polen der vi bodde på et fint og rent hotell til en billig og pris. Vi ble derfor ganske skuffet da vi entret rommet som var både skittent og stygt- og etter vår mening på etter lavere nivå enn hostel og pensjonat. Plasseringen var derimot ganske så bra og frokosten som var inkludert trakk også […] opp helhetsinntrykket. Lesa meira

Standarden på hotellrummet var bättre än jag förväntade mig, litet men rent o fräscht. Ett minus dock för den mycket sura personalen som skötte frukosten.

Småt, men ok til prisen og overraskende god morgenmad

Mycket nöjd med min vistelse, trevlig personal i receptionen och bra städning. Rummet var lite trångt för två kompisar men det ju ett billigt rum vi bokade så skulle absolut rekommendera!

Fint hotel, men værelset var dog lidt medtaget og slidt! Men alt andet meget fint.

Période du 14janvier 2012 au 17janvier 2012, chambre double Bon séjour dans ce petit hôtel. Eau chaude garantie, petit déjeuner sympa (il manque quand même une plaque de cuisson pour cuire du bacon ou faire des œufs brouillés...) servi à des heures raisonnables (7H30-9H30 en semaine et 8h-10H le week end), le confort du lit n'est pas tip top mais ca […] passe quand même, réfrigérateur à disposition (très pratique!!), le quartier de notthing hill est pas très loin ainsi que queensway (pas mal de marchand de souvenir, environ 15 sur toute la rue!), les restaurants (fast food et restaurants basiques) et pubs sont situés tout près, ainsi que Hyde park (très sympa pour faire du vélo ou roller) et kensington park, oxford street se trouve a environ 20min de marche (ce qui est tout de même assez proche!), le personnel est sympa et compréhensible envers les étrangers (essaye même de parler un peu francais!), non bruyant, salle de bain un peu petite mais on peu quand même se doucher à deux, donc ca va :), pas d'ascenseur (4étages), donc si vous n'êtes pas sportif demander une chambre au plus bas... la station de métro la plus proche est lancaster gate (environ 5min de marche), la télé comporte 6chaines anglaises, je n'ai pas eu le câble, mais ce n'était pas indispensable! et le coin calme est vraiment pas mal! bémol! : il faut absolument des adaptateurs de prises électriques! achetez les de préférences dans le pays où vous résidez, cela sera surement moins cher!, l'accueil de l'hôtel, avec la réception des clefs des chambres se situe au 51 gloucester terrace, qui est situé en face de l'hôtel, j'ai trouvé ca un peu embêtant.... excellant séjour dans ce petit hôtel à prix raisonnable! je vous le recommande. Jeg var her med kjæresten min rett før jul. Det ligger veldig sentralt, kun et stoppested med metro fra Oxford street. Tar kun 10 min å gå til oxford street også. Hyde park ligger rett rundt hjørnet. Utrolig hyggelige og hjelpsomme folk i resepsjonen. Sengene var ikke de mest behagelige, men vi sov da godt. Rommet har grei størrelse til at det ligger […] i sentrum av London. Lesa meira
